Chapter 89

1.

An Zhe was in the car.

The morning light shone through the skylight of the armored vehicle.

This was the fourth time he and Lu Xun had gone to the abyss together.

He woke up.

But he didn't get up.

He couldn't get up either.

He wrapped himself in the quilt and didn't go out until Lu Xun made a cup of milk and put it in front of him.

Lu Xun asked, "Are you feeling better?" An

Zhe nodded.

"Still hurting?"

An Zhe shook his head.

After shaking his head, he nodded again.

Lu Xun frowned slightly, came to An Zhe's side, stretched out his hand to pull away the thin quilt he used to wrap himself, and An Zhe let him pull it away.

The surface of the quilt was made of a kind of fine fabric, smooth and soft, but compared to the crystal-clear milky white skin, it seemed rough.

But the skin was now printed with crisscross marks, and the skin was broken slightly on the left side of the chest, and it was red. It was nothing, but Anzhe got up early, put on his shirt, and the fabric rubbed against the wound. It hurt at the time and he gasped softly.

Lu Xun opened the drawer and took out the alcohol, dipped a cotton ball in it to clean it, and applied medicine.

——So the skin on his chest was folded and turned red again. An Zhe's skin was too delicate, like a newly grown white mushroom in the rainy season, which would ooze out juice if pinched.

After applying the medicine, the wound felt cool. An Zhe wrapped his quilt tightly again. Lu Xun hugged him through the quilt, and he leaned his head against his shoulder and leaned on him.

——Later, he suddenly realized that this man was the culprit of the injury and he shouldn't live in peace with him.

An Zhe tried to pull away, but was held down by Lu Xun.

He struggled in vain, and the fabric of the quilt was rubbed again in the process.

"Don't move." Lu Xun said.

An Zhe: "..."

Not only was there no guilt in this man's tone, but it sounded like he was criticizing him for moving around, which was extremely vicious.

Just as he looked up, he could see Lu Xun's Adam's apple and neck - he gritted his teeth.

- Lu Xun hugged him tighter and he couldn't move at all.

An Zhe thought about it and was still very unhappy. This was not a momentary unhappiness, but a mood that had gradually developed over many days. He had always wanted to find Lu Xun.

It just so happened that this time he finally had an injury worth mentioning.

He said sullenly, "You're very fierce."

Lu Xun asked, "Are you?"

An Zhe said, "Yes."

"No." Lu Xun turned him over and said, "I've been very careful."

An Zhe: "?"

If this is the result of being careful, then when you are not careful, do you tear people apart and eat them?

An Zhe frowned and said, "Impossible."

Lu Xun: "Huh?"

"When you go too far, you always struggle," An Zhe said, "and cry."

Lu Xun looked at him.

"But if you ignore it," An Zhe said, "you will become more fierce."

A new day began with being criticized by the little mushroom - Lu Xun looked down at the mushroom in his arms.

The voice was soft, coquettish, and he complained softly.

An Zhe finished speaking.

But Lu Xun wanted to hear him say a few more words.

So he asked, "Anything else?"

An Zhe glared at him, meaning, isn't this enough?

"I thought that was the way to deal with you," Lu Xun replied.

An Zhe: "?"

An Zhe: "Anything else?"

"Yes," Lu Xun said, "You should learn to control your behavior."

An Zhe: "?"

He couldn't possibly do anything wrong.

He looked directly at Lu Xun, his voice cold, and said word by word: "You have a problem."

"Look," Lu Xun said, "You are acting like a spoiled child again."

An Zhe confirmed that there was indeed a species difference between him and Lu Xun.

If he could reach out for the pillow, the first thing he would do would be to throw the pillow at Lu Xun's face.

But now both of his legs were held by Lu Xun, and he could only use his eyes to see that this man was in a stalemate.

After a while, Lu Xun smiled first.

He lowered his head to kiss the corner of An Zhe's lips. An Zhe turned his head away to avoid him, but was restrained.

First, he was lifted up and kissed deeply several times until he couldn't breathe. Then he was let go. Then Lu Xun gently kissed the corner of his eye.

His breath brushed against his ear. Lu Xun no longer touched him through the quilt. He leaned in and held his waist. There must be a red mark there from last night.

An Zhe shuddered.

An Zhe said, "No."

Lu Xun: "I can't hear it."

An Zhe brought up the old matter again: "Then every time you cry, can't you see it?"

"I'm not beating you," the man said, "Crying is useless."

- A new day starts with licking the colonel.

2.

An Zhe is still in the car.

The starlight shone through the skylight of the armored vehicle at night.

This was the fourth time he and Lu Xun had gone to the abyss together.

When An Zhe muttered for the third time, the colonel offered a solution.

He leaned back against the bed with a blank expression: "Do it yourself."

His expression and tone were as if he was at the genetic testing station at the city gate, next to the testing equipment, saying: "Do it yourself."

An Zhe faced him and hesitated for a while, and a few mycelium spread to the colonel.

Then he leaned over and kissed the colonel's Adam's apple.

Then he kissed the colonel's neck and thought about his next move.

Then he realized that he was wearing loose white pajamas, but the colonel was still dressed neatly, so he began to struggle with those shirt buttons.

He was very familiar with this shirt. After all, he was an emotionless washing machine.

But the shirt did not let him off the hook because of their friendship. It even became more difficult to unbutton because of the angle.

After unbuttoning the first button, he said to Lu Xun, "Unbutton it yourself."

- Just like what Lu Xun would say to him sometimes.

Colonel Lu was unmoved.

The mycelium climbed up a few more times.

The colonel condescended and slowly unbuttoned the second button for himself.

An Zhe continued to think.

"People who came out of the third floor of the underground," Lu Xun's voice was slightly hoarse with a hint of smile, "be more skilled."

An Zhe: "..."

He whispered, "I didn't learn anything."

And he couldn't go back to learn again.

"I see." Lu Xun spoke. When this person lowered his voice, there was a distant magnetic field in his voice. An Zhe shuddered, and his ears went numb to his back.

Then he thought of the past.

When he first met Lu Xun, he even said in person, "I work on the third floor underground." The colonel replied with an "Oh."

An Zhe was very curious about the colonel's impression of him at that time.

As if he understood what he meant, the colonel said, "At that time, I didn't know you were a mushroom. I thought if you didn't work on the third floor, you couldn't survive in the base."

He glanced at An Zhe casually and continued, "Now it seems that even if you are, you can't support yourself."

A few more mycelium roots.

The colonel stopped talking.

An Zhe's biggest wish now is that the colonel can be as speechless as the puppet he once was.

He put his slender white fingers on Lu Xun's chest, wanting to pull his hand after Lu Xun unbuttoned his clothes.

Then he saw the colonel looking there, as if he was also thinking about something - and it was the kind of expression he would have when he was thinking about something serious.

A few seconds later, Lu Xun said, "I was fooled by you before."

An Zhe tilted his head.

"A little slow, not knowing what obscenity is, working illegally with a monthly salary below the minimum," the colonel counted these three things, thinking, "This can't be explained by simply limited intelligence."

An Zhe: "..."

He said, "Stop."

But obviously, the colonel's hearing is selectively abnormal.

"That night was also unusual. You invited me to stay in your room."

An Zhe said, "Because you had nowhere to go."

"The problem is that you didn't give me your toothbrush. You don't understand human social etiquette at all."

An Zhe didn't say anything, as if his hearing was also selectively abnormal.

"Unless this was a poor flirting trick you learned on the third floor, but you were very good that night." The colonel said.

An Zhe knew that the colonel was talking about the night of the trial day. He invited this person to sleep in his room for a night.

He went to hug Lu Xun, his forehead against his chest, there was still a warm and solid touch there even through a layer of clothes, and he could hear the steady heartbeat in his ears. All the past was like a dream.

An Zhe imagined another possibility.

"Then," An Zhe said, "if at that time..."

If it was really a mistake at that time -

if he was really a worker in the third floor, or if he was an indecisive mushroom who listened to Boss Xiao's advice and approached the judge in another way - what would he do that night?

The alien with ulterior motives took in the judge who had nowhere to go.

- When they didn't know each other well, and even guarded against each other.

But it was also a moment filled with death, protest and betrayal.

What would they do if An Zhe leaned over to kiss Lu Xun's lips, or unbuttoned his shirt?

An Zhe didn't know.

He only knew that when the day came, his heart would still tremble violently when he thought of Lu Xun's back on the night of the trial. He looked at those green eyes, as if he was back to that moment, and the bloody night wind whistled through the city.

Then that expression appeared on his face again.

A quiet, sad look.

God loves people.

God doesn't love people.

The bed, the desk, the furnishings of this place were originally like the standard rooms in the base. At night, the room was dark. The sound of the wind came from an unknown place, just like that night.

An Zhe was also like this at that time, wearing snow-white and soft cotton pajamas, with an indifferent face.

Lu Xun's fingers pressed on his shoulders, and his gaze seemed to be real. An Zhe first lowered his eyelashes slightly, then raised his eyes to look at him. His eyelashes trembled slightly, like the subtle trembling of petals when a butterfly landed.

Lu Xun stared at him for a long time, like staring at the twilight on the snowy field.

Until the twilight fell, An Zhe leaned over and gently kissed the corner of his lips.

Silently, he kissed his lips again.

The past was clear and fading.
