Chapter 83

Chapter 83

When Su Ran met Si Chengyan's eyes, she couldn't help but exclaim in surprise: "Colonel Si..."

Before he could finish, his hand was tightly grasped.

Feeling the familiar body temperature, Su Ran calmed down a little and nodded.

——Now all they need to do is escape.

This was a completely enclosed laboratory on the ground floor. After only a few steps, the sticky sound behind him resurfaced. Su Ran knew without turning back that the mist would re-form.

What will it become?

Su Ran had no time to think, and at this moment, they walked forward along the dark. They stepped on many things, long objects that were difficult to describe, and things that looked like internal organs. Just stepping on them for a second would produce a slight popping sound, accompanied by a squeezing feeling from the inside out.

Su Ran didn't dare to think too much, and could only follow Si Chengyan and walk forward silently - the solid walls around him seemed to have turned into transparent dark glass.

There were countless gray bottles, with thick dust covering the original bottle mouths above. Unidentified original objects floated above, sinking and rising, emitting a faint light, staring at them intently.

"This laboratory..." Su Ran asked in a low voice, "What's going on?"

"It was originally an ordinary warehouse, but for some reason it became a secret incubation ground."

Si Chengyan paused for a few seconds and continued, "When we discovered it, a secret shielding device had already been built here. It had been conducting some kind of secret experiment under the suspended island."

Su Ran turned to look at him.

For some reason, under the dark light, Si Chengyan's eyes appeared even darker blue.

——It seems that just like the last time, when escaping from the vine area, this is how the fog was controlled.

Su Ran knew that this was the colonel's special ability, so she clenched his fingertips and nodded: "Let's leave together."

After saying this, they quietly came out of the abandoned room and leaned against the wall.

The surroundings were silent, but in a corner, a small movement still made Su Ran nervous. At this moment, a branch of a tree rushed out from nowhere and attacked Su Ran with precision!

“Bang, bang, bang!”

Three gunshots were heard as Si Chengyan accurately struck the branch in front of him. In just a few seconds, the gun turned around in his hand, and when he gripped the handle again, another accurate gunshot was heard.

Su Ran didn't know how he escaped.

Fresh air mixed with black mist rushed over him, and he couldn't help coughing several times. At this moment, the exit behind him was tightly covered by a transparent baffle - this was a temporary solution provided by the support institute, which could temporarily seal all exits.

But the corresponding price...

No one said anything else.

The surroundings fell into dead silence. Su Ran still held Si Chengyan's fingers. When the vision became clear, they were already on the vehicle supporting the institute.

"Colonel, please continue." Triana came out of one of the rooms, her brow furrowed. "We have a very difficult situation right now."

"Um."

"The support station's shield can only hold out for two days at most. So... we must find a way to stop Sirtu within that time."

"Can we evacuate?" Su Ran raised her head, then lowered her eyelashes. "Sorry, I got a little anxious... I forgot we were all on the Hanging Island."

"Someone once suggested that the Hanging Island be constructed like the New City, with separate districts," Anna explained. "It's just like what I said before, but right now we simply can't carry out a large-scale relocation."

When she said this, Anna was standing next to Triana, holding her hand, looking at the Leifa screen with a serious expression.

More and more black mist rushed out, gradually corroding the transparent plate.

At this moment, Triana seemed to have thought of something. She kept clicking on Poker, then suddenly looked up and said, "I've thought of it. Maybe now... there will be a unique solution."
