Chapter Ten
Ye Yin knew that this action had gone too far.
He tried to pull his hand back, but his fingers wouldn't obey him.
Following the strands of hair down her ear, I slightly hooked my middle finger and brushed the tip across her earlobe.
Almost instantly, a series of subtle tremors climbed up from her collarbone, like a fierce firework exploding in Tengzhi's mind.
Teng Zhi had already noticed that she did not object to Ye Yin's somewhat inappropriate actions.
Just like today, inside that little BYD, there were actually many moments when she could have avoided or refused.
When her fingers, so different from her skin tone, brushed against my palm, when her hot breath enveloped my earlobe, when the tears in my eyes were carefully wiped away with a tissue...
The boundary between the two has been blurred by these repeated ambiguous touches.
Or rather, their relationship began to become subtle from the very first time they met Ye Yin.
Ye Yin first withdrew his finger, took two steps back, and said in a deeper voice, "I'm going downstairs to buy something to eat. Is there anything you'd like to eat?"
Tengzhi ate only a sandwich for lunch, and her stomach was already rumbling. But as she got closer to her "target," her brain was filled with more and more bizarre excitement, and the signals of hunger were naturally blocked.
She shook her head: "I'm not hungry."
Ye Yin guessed she would say that, so he changed his question: "I'm so hungry. This area is your territory. Are there any restaurants you like that you would recommend?"
Teng Zhi, oblivious to his tact, switched the camera to video mode, walked to the balcony railing, and pointed down to the shops across the street: "There are two shops over there, one for braised dishes and one for roasted meats. The braised goose rice is tender and plentiful, and the soup is also very generous with the ingredients. The roasted goose thigh rice and char siu are both good, but at this hour, they probably won't have any left over..."
The streetlights downstairs were already dimly lit, and her fair fingertips traced the glow of one or two lights.
Ye Yin couldn't take his eyes off them, staring intently at the smooth, clean fingernails.
A hot breeze brushed my face, and my craving for a cigarette returned.
When the wonton noodle shop was introduced, Ye Yin noticed that Teng Zhi pursed her lips and puffed out her cheeks slightly, and he knew what was going on.
"Then I'll go downstairs to get some food." Ye Yin pointed to the bottled water on the table with his thumb. "Even if you're not hungry, you should still drink some water. Your lips are dry."
Upon hearing this, Tengzhi reflexively stuck out her tongue, bringing moisture to her lips, and then quickly withdrew it.
"Okay, go ahead and eat. The apartment access card is on the coffee table," she said. "I'll send you the password for the combination lock on WeChat later."
When Ye Yin arrived at the roast meat shop, he was still in a daze.
The few seconds that Tengzhi licked her lips kept replaying in his mind. Her skin was so white that her tongue looked so red. The moisture seeped into her lips little by little, and her lips began to take on color.
He stood at the entrance of the roast meat shop, took a deep drag on a cigarette, suppressed his churning emotions, and then went inside.
Ye Yin asked the owner if they had left thigh meat. The owner said, "Luckily, there's only one left." Ye Yin took it and asked the owner to chop it into pieces and pack it up. He also ordered a char siu and soy sauce chicken combo for dine-in.
He wolfed down his food, finishing in less than ten minutes. He gulped down the last mouthful of the rich, slow-cooked soup, then carried the packed left thigh out of the roast meat shop.
After walking a few dozen more steps, he arrived at the wonton noodle shop. After instructing them to pack the food, he went outside to smoke another cigarette.
While waiting, Ye Yin looked up, trying to find the apartment on the eighteenth floor in the general direction, hoping to catch a glimpse of that figure.
But not.
The building was pitch black, with only a few lights on, but he couldn't see the one he wanted to see.
"Handsome, your wonton noodles are ready!"
The shop owner's call brought Ye Yin back to his senses, and he was startled by his own thoughts.
My hand trembled, and the cigarette ash brushed against my arm and fell.
He walked quickly on the way back.
While waiting for the elevator, he smelled sweat, cigarette smoke, and gasoline on his clothes.
Honestly, it smells terrible, but thankfully Tengzhi doesn't mind.
I went down to the second basement level first, picked up my luggage, and then went up to the eighteenth floor.
Once inside the apartment, he placed the wonton noodles and roast goose thigh on the dining table, unwrapped the packaging, and called to Tengzhi, who was still watching from the balcony: "I bought you some food. Eat a few bites first, and be lucky if you can finish the last left thigh."
"Ah, I told you I wasn't hungry..." Teng Zhi stubbornly insisted, but still came over.
"You can leave the roast goose thigh, but you have to eat a few bites of the wonton noodles. They won't stay long, or the noodles will clump together."
Ye Yin placed his luggage on the wooden floor next to the sofa and asked, "Can I use your bathroom for a bit? I need to change my clothes; the ones I'm wearing smell terrible."
Tengzhi sat down at the dining table and rustled open the plastic bowls containing noodles and soup respectively: "Sure, but why don't you just take a shower?"
Ye Yin was taken aback, his eyes narrowed slightly, and his voice deepened: "You don't mind?"
"Me? Why should I interfere—" Teng Zhi abruptly stopped speaking.
Well, she really should mind...
Ye Yin took it as a yes and smiled, "Alright, then I won't be polite." He then squatted down to take the clothes out of his bag.
The man had a thick back, and when he squatted down, his muscles stretched his T-shirt so that it didn't have a single wrinkle. The hem of the shirt was lifted up a bit, and at the same time, the waistband of his jeans dropped down, revealing a section of his tanned lower back.
There were also black underwear edges.
Teng Zhi glanced at him secretly for a few seconds, then looked away as Ye Yin stood up.
"There are bath towels provided by the guesthouse in the bathroom, you can use them if you need them." She muttered to herself, pouring soup into a noodle bowl. Steam rose up as she poured. "I'm not used to using towels from outside, so I brought my own."
"Oh, what a coincidence? I brought some too." Ye Yin carried the things towards the bathroom, raised his chin, and said, "Eat quickly."
"oh."
The bathroom door closed, and Teng Zhi stirred the noodles, her cheeks seemingly warmed by the steam from the soup.
The noodles were chewy and springy, and the wontons had thin wrappers and generous fillings. Tengzhi sipped the soup, and the hot, fragrant broth soothed her heart, which had been racing all day.
When Teng Zhi scooped up the first shrimp roe wonton, she was surprised to find out why Ye Yin knew she wanted to eat wonton noodles.
In the bathroom, Ye Yin only turned on the cold water, letting the water jets pour over his head.
While his mind was still wandering, he found that his penis was semi-erect when he finished washing his hair.
Ye Yin clicked his tongue, slapped the turtle's head without ceremony, and warned it, "You better behave yourself."
The semi-hardened stalk swayed twice in a pitiful manner, seemingly becoming even more erect.
"This timing isn't right..."
Ye Yin sighed, stood under the showerhead, and used the cold water to extinguish his desire.
After a long while, the restless thing between his legs finally calmed down.
Ye Yin dried himself off, put on his clothes, and walked out of the bathroom. Teng Zhi had already finished eating and was cleaning up the soup bowls.
He was taken aback: "Eating so fast?"
“You’ve been washing for too long…” Tengzhi pointed to the untouched roast goose thigh, “I’m so full, I can’t eat this.”
"Then we'll eat later."
"Um."
Tengzhi scanned him from top to bottom.
The man wore a black quick-drying T-shirt, the cut of which accentuated his strong muscles. He had broad shoulders, a bulging chest, and a tapering waist. He wore quick-drying athletic shorts, the style of which was loose and the length did not reach his knees, revealing his muscular calves.
Teng Zhi only learned tonight that he was very hairy, even having some body hair on the insteps of his feet.
Like an unevolved ape, Tengzhi thought to herself as she went to the stairwell to throw away the trash.
It has an omnipresent, wild, and primal hormone.
Ye Yin turned off the main light source in the living room, leaving only the warm yellow light in the bathroom. He moved a dining stool to the balcony and sat down next to the tripod.
When Tengzhi returned to the house, she saw a man with his legs crossed and his slippers dangling precariously.
Ye Yin pointed to the camera and said to her, "There's no one in the kitchen. They're probably eating."
The thought that the kitchenware and tableware she had collected from various places over the years had been touched by others made Tengzhi feel like she had swallowed a rotten egg, with the stinky egg white sticking to her throat, making her feel nauseous.
It seems she wasn't this upset even when she found out Li Tiancheng had cheated on her.
Thinking about it this way, Tengzhi felt that she seemed quite heartless.
Li Tiancheng is not as good as her cabinet full of pots and pans.
There was no moon tonight, but big cities are never short of artificial lights. Neon lights surged in from all directions, illuminating Tengzhi's face and her tightly pursed lips.
Ye Yin understood her feelings and waved her away, saying, "You've had a long day, go take a shower. I'll keep watch over things here for you."
Tengzhi pouted and said, "If the two of them appear together, you must take a picture."
Ye Yin swung his leg and said, "Hmm."
Teng Zhi turned to leave, but Ye Yin suddenly called out to her, "Teng Zhi."
Tengzhi turned around: "Hmm?"
“My sister got divorced before, and the lawyer who handled her case was quite capable.” Ye Yin’s tone became much more serious. “If you need it, I can ask her for the lawyer’s contact information.”
The man was tall and imposing, sitting there like an unshakable mountain. Although his swinging leg looked rather unseemly, Tengzhi found a great sense of security in him.
She thanked him and said, "Sure, could you please get my contact information for me?"
Ye Yin grinned at her: "No problem."
The dried sweat clung to her body like an airtight film. After taking a bath, Tengzhi felt physically better, even though she was still mentally exhausted.
She smelled that she smelled the same as Ye Yin.
It's a yellow lemon soaked in ice water; it's light and refreshing.
Tengzhi dried her hair and walked out of the bathroom. She saw the man who had been acting so nonchalantly just moments before standing up with his back to her.
He stood with his hands on his hips, his long legs spread apart, his head down, and his back seemed tense.
Teng Zhi hurriedly asked, "What's wrong? Has Li Tiancheng shown up?"
Unexpectedly, Ye Yin shouted to stop her, "Don't come any closer."
Teng Zhi's heart sank, and ignoring his attempts to stop her, she strode forward.
Ye Yin turned around and stopped her, frowning as he said, "Teng Zhi, don't look."
Taking advantage of his height, he spread his arms and used his body to block the camera.
This time, Tengzhi refused to comply, acting like a cat with its claws outstretched. In the end, she managed to slip under his arm and see the live feed on the camera screen.
The image is a bit shaky and grainy, but it's still clear enough to see a man and a woman standing next to the kitchen sink.
Liu Ni was in front, still wearing a rattan apron, while Li Tiancheng was behind her, his hands reaching into the apron to rub and grab. Then, Liu Ni tilted her head back and kissed the man behind her.
I just took a hot shower, but now it feels like I've been thrown into a bucket of ice water.
The cold was biting, and the vines felt chilled to the bone, their bodies shivering uncontrollably.
"That's...that's my apron...my kitchen...Can't they do what they need to do in the room?! Why in the kitchen?!"
Tengzhi's voice gradually grew louder, until it was almost a roar.
However, her voice was drowned out by the wind from the high-rise buildings and fragmented by the sounds of cars below.
Having "knew" Teng Zhi for a few months, Ye Yin had never heard her scream so devastated and out of control.
He felt terrible and didn't want her to continue torturing herself. He wrapped his arms tightly around her soft waist, picked her up, and carried her to the living room, gently comforting her, "Okay, okay...we won't watch anymore, Tengzhi, we won't watch anymore, okay?"
Teng Zhi wouldn't listen to him, twisting and turning wildly, tearing his sports T-shirt out of shape, her eyes burning and red: "Put me down! I want to see with my own eyes just how despicable he can be!!"
Despite being such a large man, Ye Yin was pulled so hard by her that he staggered, but he still held her waist and back tightly and didn't dare to let go.

Perhaps because Tengzhi had just come out of the bathroom, her body was still warm, and a thin layer of condensation appeared on her glasses lenses.
Sometimes scattered, sometimes gathered, obscuring her eyes, which resembled pebbles.
When Ye Yin chatted with her during the day, he learned that she was severely nearsighted and her vision was blurry without her glasses. She could only see people and things clearly if they were very close to her.
So he gritted his teeth, reached out and took off her black-rimmed glasses, casually folded the temples, and threw them onto the coffee table.
With a "click".
"What are you doing!" Teng Zhi exclaimed in surprise.
Without her glasses, the world blurred instantly, forcing her to squint: "Give me back my glasses! I can't see!"
Ye Yinliu put one arm around her waist and pinched her chin with the other, making her tilt her fair face up with a little force.
Then he lowered his head, staring intently into her eyes, his forehead almost touching hers, his nose almost touching hers, and his tone was somewhat sharp: "You're this close, can you see me? Hmm?"
Tengzhi shuddered.
Her reason returned instantly, and she realized that the man was burning hot.
My body is hot, my breath is hot, even my voice is hot.
But his voice was so low, as low as a devil's whisper.
"Tengzhi, if you can't see it, you can't see it. Don't let them dirty your eyes."
————Author's ramblings————
The eternal roast goose thigh, though late, is here.
A quick calculation shows it's 30,000 words; it's time for the first smutty scene!
I originally planned to finish this book within 50,000 words, but now it seems a bit difficult. I'll try to keep it under 70,000 words.
Yesterday, the editor reminded me of the deadline, so I need to spend more time revising the text.
Less time to slack off, so cherish every moment (sigh).
