Chapter 236 The Doctor Said That

Chapter 236 The Doctor Said That

The Adam's apple that was strangled by Jiang Fei rolled against her arm.

Just as Jiang Fei was about to let go of him, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her, causing her to fall into his arms.

Pei Jing looked at her intently. "Are you hungry?"

Jiang Fei was stunned. "I'm not hungry. What's wrong? Are you hungry?"

Pei Jing stared into Jiang Fei's eyes, his mind racing.

Of course I'm hungry! I'm glad you're not hungry.

This story all started with a doctor's visit. Her period was only six or seven days long and would not be over until the Chinese New Year. Pei Jing finally made it to the Chinese New Year, but before he could even start his "bravery" business, Jiang Fei blocked him with various excuses.

Yesterday he said he was too tired, the day before yesterday he said he ate too much and was going to vomit if he moved any more, and the day before that...

I finally got the chance today, and Jiang Fei said herself that she was not hungry.

"I'm not hungry, then I'll eat later."

Before Jiang Fei could react, Pei Jing picked her up and hugged her sideways. She was so scared that she quickly put her arms around his neck and asked, "Hey? What are you doing?"

Pei Jing didn't stop, went straight to the bedroom and threw her into the soft quilt.

Jiang Fei had just propped himself up halfway when he heard a crisp "pop" sound, and the wooden window that had a gap was slammed shut by him.

While she was stunned, Pei Jing hooked the belt around her waist, and the belt embroidered with dark patterns hung loosely, with one end hanging in his hand.

Jiang Fei looked at the action and felt a little scared for some reason. She shrank back under the quilt and whispered, "It's not even dark yet."

The belt made a noise in Pei Jing's hand. Pei Jing grabbed her ankle and pulled her, and the whole person slid along the quilt in front of Pei Jing.

Suddenly, the scene in front of her eyes darkened. The belt, which still carried his body temperature, had gently covered her. The soft satin stuck to her eyelids, completely blocking out the last bit of light.

"Isn't it dark now?" Pei Jing's voice was very close, and he grabbed her hand to prevent her from taking it off. "Be good and don't take it off, or I'll tie your hands."

It had come to this point, the car couldn't be stopped, and Jiang Fei went limp in a moment, with a few tiny hums in her breathing, as if she had been half-heartedly getting into the role.

Pei Jing put all his strength into it this time. When the strength came up, Jiang Fei couldn't bear it anymore. She gasped and pushed him back.

"Stop...wait a moment..."

Pei Jing didn't let go, rubbing his chin against the back of her sweaty neck, "The doctor said..."

Jiang Fei was speechless because of him, and could only bite her lip and bury her face in the pillow.

Every time they refused, they would quote the doctor's words, "The doctor said to stretch" and "The doctor said holding it in is harmful to your health." People who usually didn't listen to advice outside now knew to follow the doctor's orders.

After going back and forth like this several times, Jiang Fei had lost all her strength. In the end, she didn't even have the strength to hum. She only felt her eyelids were as heavy as lead.

When Pei Jing finally stopped, Jiang Fei's eyelids were already drooping. She didn't even have the energy to respond when Pei Jing leaned over to ask her, "Are you hungry? Ask the kitchen to bring some food." She fell asleep in a daze.

It was already completely dark outside the window, and the sound of the night watchman's clapperboard could be heard in the distance. The food prepared in the kitchen never arrived, but no one was ready to eat.

The next morning, Pei Jing went back to the palace and returned an hour earlier than the day before.

Jiang Fei smelled a strange scent on him, but didn't ask anything.

Pei Jing came out of the palace and went to the house outside the city, then walked into the cell on the snow.

It snowed a little the day before yesterday, and the dampness in the cell was heavier than in the previous few days.

When he pushed the door open, Yao was huddled in the corner. When she heard the sound, she looked up suddenly, and her already distracted eyes showed even more panic.

Pei Jing brushed off the snow from his shoulders, ignored her reaction, and walked straight to the only chair in the cell and sat down. He tapped the armrest with his fingers before speaking:

"Where were we talking yesterday?"

Yao was frightened when she heard his voice, and her body shrank involuntarily, causing the iron chain nails and bells to jingle.

"Tell him he's eight years old." Yao said in a hoarse voice.

"Tell me slowly," Pei Jing paused his fingers on the armrest, his eyes fixed on Yao, "Speak more carefully, speak well, and perhaps you can live a few more days."

Yao was irritated by these words and suddenly raised her voice, "I can't live anymore... I can't stand it! You might as well just kill me!"

"Okay." Pei Jing responded slowly, "Duan Jiu."

Duan Jiu walked out from the darkness.

Pei Jing tilted his head. "The Jiang family is quite prosperous. Even if she doesn't want to talk about it, there must be other people who know. Go and bring Jiang Rulin here. Maybe she knows more."

"No!" Yao screamed and crawled forward, trying to reach Pei Jing's robe. The iron chain rattled as she pulled it, and even when it was stretched straight, it was still a foot away from Pei Jing.

Yao's hair was messy and stuck to her face. Her voice was trembling. "I said... I said... Rulin is still young and doesn't know anything."

Pei Jing didn't even raise his eyelids and said lightly, "Talk."

Yao swallowed hard, and after a long while, she managed to squeeze out a few trembling words from between her teeth, "When Jiang Rufei was eight years old, she stole a piece of cake."

Yao had experienced Pei Jing's methods and did not dare to lie.

If there was even a trace of falsehood, or if Pei Jing discovered any flaws, she would not be able to escape the punishment. She did not have any scars on her body, but Pei Jing's men had many ways to make her feel so painful that she wanted to die without leaving any marks. She never wanted to experience this again.

"I still remember that afternoon when Aunt Zhang from the kitchen said a piece of cake was missing. Later, I saw her in the corner of the woodshed, still clutching half a cake in her hand, with sugar residue on her lips..."

Yao avoided Pei Jing's gaze, not daring to look at him. "Actually, I put that cake there on purpose."

Having said this, she suddenly paused.

After a moment, the corners of his mouth cracked a little, revealing a strange smile.

"That piece of cake has been sitting there for two days, and no one has touched it. I've been watching it for several days. The little girl always steals glances at it every time she passes by. She doesn't have enough to eat, so of course she'll be hungry. So I deliberately put it in front of her."

Yao's eyes lit up frighteningly, and she suddenly slapped her thigh and laughed, almost breathlessly, "Sure enough! Not long after, she sneaked in. You didn't see how cowardly she was. She clutched the cake like it was her life, hiding in the woodshed to eat it. When I called for help, she turned pale with fright."

The armrest creaked as Pei Jing pinched it, but Yao Shi seemed not to hear it and continued talking to herself with a cruel sense of pride.

"I made her kneel in the snow and chew the remaining half of the cake, including the dirt and snow. She cried as she swallowed, and her throat was stuck and she hiccuped... Do you think she is a bitch?"

Pei Jing sat in the chair, his fingertips already deeply dug into the wood grain of the armrest, and the coldness around him seemed to have frozen.

"Then she fell ill." Yao suddenly stopped laughing and her voice dropped again. "She had a high fever and was talking nonsense."

"What did she say?" Pei Jing finally raised his eyes.
