Chapter 34 Xiao Cui, You're Almost Ready

Chapter 34 Xiao Cui, You're Almost Ready

"Go back and let the doctor treat it again, otherwise you will just wait for your hand to rot and die." Pei Jing's tone was cold, but his hands moved skillfully, and he bandaged her again with a clean cloth.

Jiang Fei looked down at her arms and whispered, "Thank you."

Pei Jing didn't respond, but just sat back opposite, picked up the dried robe, put it on himself and closed his eyes to rest.

In the light of the fire, silence fell between the two of them for a moment.

Jiang Fei secretly looked at Pei Jing and found that when he closed his eyes to rest, the hostility between his brows seemed to have faded a little, and he showed a rare calmness.

Physical discomfort gradually came over Jiang Fei, her body began to feel cold and her head felt a little dizzy.

She wrapped herself in a thin outer robe, moved a little closer to the fire, and tremblingly took out a few fruits, wiped them on her clothes, and put them into her mouth.

The wild fruit was sour and astringent, but Jiang Fei swallowed it with gritted teeth.

Hearing the sound of chewing something, Pei Jing opened his eyes and watched her coldly as she finished one and started to chew the next. He couldn't help but ask, "Aren't you afraid of being poisoned to death?"

Jiang Fei swallowed the wild fruit and said, "I saw some of them were eaten by wild animals. They should not be poisonous."

Pei Jing smiled faintly. Sometimes he thought she was stupid, and sometimes he thought she had some brains.

“Is it really that delicious?”

"Would you like to have something to fill your stomach?" Jiang Fei said as she picked up one, wiped it on her clothes and handed it over.

Pei Jing stared at the wild fruit in her hand.

After a while, just when Jiang Fei thought he didn't want to eat it and was about to take her hand back, Pei Jing snatched the fruit from her hand.

He turned it in his hand a few times, and seeing that Jiang Fei had finished the second one, he picked up the third one, then slowly brought it to his mouth and took a bite.

The sour juice instantly exploded in his mouth. Pei Jing frowned and tried hard not to spit it out.

"You call this food?" he asked through gritted teeth.

Jiang Fei looked at him innocently, "I didn't say it was delicious, it just filled my stomach."

Pei Jing threw it away and asked, "How can you eat this?"

"I have no choice." Jiang Fei took another bite, "I have to eat, otherwise I will have low blood sugar."

"Hypoglycemia?" Pei Jing asked in confusion.

Jiang Fei paused, not knowing how to explain. She simply said, "It's probably because there's less sugar in the blood, which makes you dizzy and anxious."

But she regretted it right after she said it, because Pei Jing stared at her injured arm with great interest in his eyes, and even his Adam's apple moved slightly.

How could she forget that this man was a madman and did not play by the rules.

Jiang Fei unconsciously moved her butt backwards, but Pei Jing was faster than her. He suddenly leaned forward and grabbed her wrist with such force that it hurt Jiang Fei.

"What are you doing?!" Jiang Fei tried to pull her hand back in panic.

"Don't move."

Pei Jing's voice was terribly low. He stared at the wound on her arm with a deep look in his eyes. "Since there is sugar in the blood..."

Jiang Fei's body froze, alarm bells rang in her heart, and she struggled desperately, "Are you crazy? Let me go! There's no sugar, there's no sugar in my blood!"

Pei Jing didn't move at all, but moved closer, and his nose slowly moved along her wrist towards the wound.

Jiang Fei could feel his warm breath on her skin, which immediately caused her to shudder.

"Pei Jing!" Her voice trembled. "Calm down!"

After all, he is a madman, so it is not impossible that he sucks blood.

Just when Jiang Fei thought he was really going to bite her, Pei Jing suddenly let go of her hand, leaned back, and burst into laughter.

"Hahaha..." His shoulders were shaking with laughter, "The expression you had just now..."

Jiang Fei then realized that she had been fooled by him. She was so angry that she grabbed the wild fruits on the ground and threw them at him.

"You are sick!"

Pei Jing turned his head away, a smile still in his eyes, "Why, are you afraid that I will suck your blood?"

"Crazy!" Jiang Fei's cheeks turned red with anger. She hugged her arms and moved to the side, just wanting to stay away from this person.

Pei Jing looked at her angry expression and suddenly felt in a good mood.

The rain gradually stopped, the sky gradually brightened, and birds shook off the remaining rain from their wings among the treetops. As their chirping gradually filled the entire valley, the wet morning light also flowed through the gaps in the woods.

"It's time to go."

Jiang Fei was awakened by the sound and opened her eyes dazedly, "It's dawn."

Pei Jing stood at the entrance of the crevice with his back to her. He glanced back at her and said, "Get up, let's go."

The fire on the ground burned out at some point, leaving only a few wisps of white smoke swirling around.

Those fruits were of no use at all. Jiang Fei held onto the stone wall and just as he stood up, he felt his vision go dark and his whole body felt weak.

After finally recovering from the shock, she picked up her stick and leaned on it, then asked, "Prince, can you find the way back?"

Pei Jing ignored her, picked up his outer robe from the ground and put it on. After taking two steps, he stopped and looked down at the hem of his robe.

The robe that originally reached the ankles now just reached past the knees, and the lower half was nowhere to be found.

He turned to look at Jiang Fei, "You did it?"

Jiang Fei shrank her neck and said, "You are too heavy. I can't carry you. I have to make a stretcher to drag you away. Your life is definitely more important than clothes."

Pei Jing took a deep breath, suppressed his anger, took off the remaining half of his robe and threw it on Jiang Fei's head.

After a heavy rain yesterday, the temperature dropped a lot. Jiang Fei was feeling cold, but she didn't mind and quickly put Pei Jing's robe on her.

The robe, which was originally too long, was torn into pieces so that it fit her perfectly.

The remaining rain was dripping down from the trees, and the rotten leaves in the forest were soaked and softened, feeling like water-filled sponges when stepped on.

Pei Jing walked quickly, and soon there was some distance between them.

Not hearing footsteps behind him, Pei Jing stopped and asked, "What are you dawdling about?"

Jiang Fei quickly quickened her pace to catch up.

There was no friendship between them, they were just forced to travel together because of this accident.

Jiang Fei knew very well that even if Pei Jing left her alone now, she would be helpless against him. She could only try her best not to be a burden to him so as not to be abandoned by him.

If she is left alone, she will never see the sun tomorrow.

Jiang Fei forced herself to stay awake and followed Pei Jing, taking one step forward and one step back. After walking for an unknown amount of time, her vision gradually became blurred, and Pei Jing's back appeared and disappeared among the shadows of the trees.

She gritted her teeth and tried to speed up her pace, but suddenly her feet went weak and she fell forward.

The expected pain did not come, and a warm hand firmly supported her shoulder.

Pei Jing returned at some point, his voice filled with obvious disdain, "You can't even walk?"

Jiang Fei wanted to explain herself, but she found that her lips were shaking so badly that she couldn't even utter a complete sentence.

Pei Jing suddenly put his hand on her forehead, smiled and said, "Xiao Cui, you're almost done."

Jiang Fei: “…”

If she hadn't been so exhausted, she would have really wanted to boil a pot of hot water for him to experience the feeling of being truly cooked.
