Chapter 23 Bai Yu

As Yun Jian and the others finished setting up the stove and were drying their clothes, the little wolf suddenly ran over, bit Yun Jian's clothes, and pulled her outside.

Yun Jian quickly stopped what she was doing and followed her out.

There was movement in the grass outside their camp.

Yun Jian quickly crouched down to minimize the amount of skin she exposed.

Unexpectedly, a person suddenly jumped out of the bushes opposite. The person had fair skin and looked quite kind. He patted the grass leaves off his clothes, saw Yun Jian, and then glanced at the back of her hand. He paused for a moment before saying, "Calm down, young lady! My name is Bai Yu, and I am also a player. I walked here and saw a few houses, which surprised me. I am hiding in the bushes to find out what's going on."

After saying that, the man smiled at Yun Jian again.

Seeing the little wolf at Yun Jian's feet, she smiled even more warmly, "Can we bring pets into the game? Your husky is so cute! I wish I had brought my Xiao Yu in too."

Seeing that Yunjian had no expression, he added, "Xiaoyu is a Samoyed. Although she is a bit timid, she is very affectionate."

Yun met him expressionlessly, and simply said, "Oh."

Bai Yu's eyebrows twitched slightly as he looked at the houses behind Yun Jian. "Did you build these after you entered the game? That's amazing!"

Yun glanced at him sideways and gave a soft "humph".

Bai Yu's expression turned somewhat awkward, but he finally swallowed his pride and asked, "May I go over and take a look?"

Yun Jian immediately became fierce, "You know it's someone else's camp, why don't you stay away?"

Bai Yu didn't expect Yun Jian to be so fierce. He squinted and looked at the rooms again. "I just wanted to learn how you built them. I tried it out. This game can't be released anytime soon, so having a permanent place to live is the best temporary solution. We're all players, there's no need to be so fierce."

Yun Jian sneered, "Can't you see it from here too? Alright, you can get lost now!"

Bai Yu's expression changed slightly. After hesitating for a moment, he made an apologetic gesture to Yun Jian, "I was offended. I'll leave now. Please don't be angry, young lady."

Yun didn't move until she saw that the person had disappeared from sight, then she turned around and went back into the house.

[That Yun Jian is so unreasonable! The person said they were just here to learn, and she just unreasonably kicked them out. How selfish!]

[Exactly! This kind of person only cares about their own success and can't stand seeing others do well; they're typically petty!]

[What's wrong with showing it to someone? What if Mr. Bai, having nowhere to live, suffers an accident? Wouldn't that indirectly mean Yun Jian killed him?]

Goodness, people these days are really good at using moral blackmail. They've pinned Bai Yu's fate on Yun Jian. Bai Yu's probably going to thank you for that now!

[Seriously, are you guys really that security-conscious? Imagine someone suddenly shows up and says they want to check out your house. If you're naive enough to let them in, they might kill you and take over your house. You'll be crying then!]

[Exactly! Even in societies governed by the rule of law, there are numerous cases of burglary and murder, let alone in conditions like wilderness survival!]

Yun returned looking dejected. Seeing her expression, Liang Song, though a little scared, still cautiously asked, "What's wrong? Is there any situation outside?"

“A pretty boy said he wanted to come in and take a look, I told him to get lost, but I think he’ll come back.”

Liang Song nodded, indicating that he understood.

Sure enough, Bai Yu appeared again in the evening.

This time, however, he was followed by a porcupine that was chasing him like a madman. Bai Yu had a few quills sticking out of his body, but every time the porcupine was about to catch up with him, he managed to narrowly pull away.

As soon as Yun Jian opened the door, a gust of wind rushed past her.

At the same time, Bai Yu's voice rang out, "Miss, quickly go inside and hide!"

Yun then saw clearly that a porcupine was rushing towards her.

Yun Jian: "..."

She closed the door expressionlessly.

The porcupine rammed its head into the door.

After a while, Bai Yu came down from the roof and knocked on Yun Jian's door, "Miss, come out, the porcupine is dead."

Yun Jian suppressed her anger and tried her best to appear calm.

She stared at Bai Yu without saying a word.

Bai Yu felt embarrassed by his gaze, but she also said frankly, "You've probably seen through my little tricks. I thought you'd feel some pity for me seeing me being chased so desperately, but I didn't expect you to be so heartless."

He clutched his chest, looking helpless.

Yun Jian didn't even give him a second glance. "You can get lost!"

Bai Yu felt a little wronged, but then immediately smiled and asked, "Can I set up camp near you?"

As if afraid that Yun Jian would disagree, he immediately explained, "It's getting dark soon, and there won't be enough time to find a suitable campsite."

At this moment, the Liang brothers also came out.

Bai Yu glanced at the two of them, nodded slightly as a greeting, and said, "Hello, my name is Bai Yu. I met this young lady earlier today, and she should have already told you about her."

Liang Shan nodded and replied, "Yes, I already said that."

Liang Song remained silent, observing him warily.

Bai Yu was very outgoing and naturally turned his gaze to Liang Song. "Brother, I really just admired this house and wanted to learn from it. I had no other intentions. I didn't expect this girl to treat me like a wolf. I'm thinking of setting up camp around here tonight. You don't mind, do you?"

This tone clearly indicated that Liang Song was regarded as the leader among the three.

Seeing Liang Song's strange expression, but not saying anything.

Bai Yu quickly pointed to the porcupine on the ground, "This is my reward for setting up camp around here."

[Haha, brother, you've mistaken him for someone else. Yun Jiancai is the one in charge among these people!]

"If it weren't for Yun Jian pushing them too far, would they have needed Liang Song's help? They even have to pay to set up camp around here? What? Are you Yun Jian bandits or robbers in this area?"

[That's right, what's that saying again? "I opened up this mountain, I built this road..."]

[Hey, please get this straight, this person gave it to him willingly, Yun Jian didn't ask for it, okay? And if Yun Jian hadn't reacted quickly, who knows who would be lying on the ground right now!]

I always felt this person was more than just a simple character...

Seeing that Liang Song didn't speak, Bai Yu continued, "Isn't one porcupine enough? Then name your price!"

Liang Song smiled wryly: "It's not that there aren't enough people, it's just that I'm not the one in charge here."

Bai Yu was stunned, and slowly shifted his gaze to Liang Shan.

Liang Shan quickly waved her hand and turned her face away, "Don't look at me either."

Bai Yu paused, then had no choice but to shift his gaze back to Yun Jian.

Yun smiled and waved at him, "Surprised? Little one."
