Chapter 300 (Side Story)

Six years later.

A cute and pretty baby sits on a bench in the courtyard, resting his chin on his hands and looking up at the blue sky and white clouds.

The little girl had a pair of bright, sparkling eyes, and a silver scale hung around her neck, shimmering in the sunlight.

At that moment, a giant silver dragon appeared above her head, soaring freely through the clouds.

The little girl saw the beautiful dragon and immediately stood up, excitedly exclaiming, "Dragon!"

Just then, her father came out. "Guigui, what are you looking at?"

The little girl's eyes sparkled. "Daddy, there's a dragon in the sky! I'm not lying to you this time, look!" she pointed to the sky.

The father looked up but still couldn't see the dragon his daughter was talking about, so he corrected her, "Guigui, there are no dragons in this world. How many times do I have to say it?"

Upon hearing this, the little girl pouted and remained silent.

His daughter has been interested in dragons since she was little, and often says that she has seen dragons. At one point, he almost thought that there was something wrong with his daughter's eyes.

The man looked at his daughter, who had suddenly fallen silent, and realized that he had been too harsh in his words.

Then, softening his tone, he said, "Come on, how about Daddy tells you a story?"

Upon hearing this, the little girl immediately brightened up again. "Okay, Daddy, can I hear a story about dragons?"

The man shook his head helplessly. "Alright, Dad will tell you the story of the dragon."

Upon hearing this, the little girl immediately and happily moved a stool over to sit next to her father.

The man opened his daughter's fairy tale book and read aloud, "Once upon a time, there was a giant dragon whose mouth could breathe fire..."

………

Having weathered over eighty years of wind and rain, the courtyard of Qingyun Temple is filled with the yellowing leaves of trees, as if telling the story of the vicissitudes of time.

An elderly woman with white hair slowly walked out with a broom, and she bent down to sweep the withered yellow leaves on the ground.

After sweeping for a while, she stopped, patted her slightly hunched back with her hand, and then raised her hand to wipe the reading glasses she was wearing.

Looking at the dilapidated Taoist temple, her thoughts drifted away.

The Taoist temple is no longer as lively and prosperous as it used to be; it has become quite deserted.

Feeling a bit tired, she put down the broom, walked to the rocking chair that Master Baixi had loved most back then, and lay down.

A cup of hot water sits on the coffee table, steaming gently.

She held a fan in her hand, gazing at Qingyun Temple, which had been her home for so many years. In the tranquility of the setting sun, she quietly closed her eyes and fell asleep.

A gust of wind rose, and the withered yellow leaves on the ground fluttered. Many of the withered leaves landed on her peaceful sleeping face.

She didn't know how much time had passed when she sensed someone approaching from behind.

"...Mo You."

A familiar voice reached her ears.

She looked up and saw a beautiful young woman dressed in a blue dress. Then, her eyes gradually welled up with tears.

“…Master Baixi”.

Bai Xi smiled and said, "It's me."

Mo You stood up. "You're back."

Bai Xi nodded, "I've come to take you away."

"There are still the two of us."

Yun Nuan and Lin Xinxi appeared behind them.

Mo You looked up and saw Lin Xinxi, whom she had never seen before. "You're the one who's always in the kitchen but we can't see you, right?"

"Yes, it's me. So Sister Mo You already knew about me all along." Lin Xinxi said a little embarrassed.

Mo You then looked at the handsome man standing next to Master Bai Xi, "And who is this?"

Bai Xi introduced him as "the Emperor of Fengdu".

Mo You was stunned, "Fengdu...the Great Emperor?"

Isn't that...that's the top leader of the underworld?

She wondered if it was just her imagination, but she felt that Master Baixi, that man, and the two young girls, Yun Nuan and the other girl, were somewhat different from before.

They possessed pure energy, as if they were surrounded by light.

Yun Nuan smiled and said, "Your lifespan has ended, you can come with us now."

Mo You, "Ah..."

She didn't react immediately, her eyes filled with confusion.

Lin Xinxi reminded her, "You have already left the physical body; this life is over."

Upon hearing this, Mo You turned her head and saw herself lying peacefully asleep in the rocking chair. She suddenly realized that she was dead.

Yun Nuan said, "Master Bai Xi predicted that you would die today, so he came here specifically to pick you up."

Mo You looked bewildered, but said, "If I die, don't I need to report to the underworld?"

She didn't even see the Black and White Impermanence that the older generation talked about.

Upon hearing this, Yun Nuan and Lin Xinxi chuckled and said, "Master Bai Xi and Lord Fengdu are right here. Where else do you need to report?"

Bai Xi saw Mo You so adorable for the first time and smiled, "The Rose Immortal is having a flower banquet. You've just arrived, so let's go together today."

Mo You had never encountered anything like this before, and she asked nervously, "I...don't I need to bring anything? And what about the things I left at the Taoist temple...?"

"Oh, no need, you can just leave. When you're up there, Master Baixi will arrange a position for you, just like the current Qingyun Temple. You just need to manage things."

Lin Xinxi pulled her arm and laughed.

Upon hearing this, Mo You looked at Master Bai Xi.

Bai Xi smiled and nodded, "She's right. The things in the Taoist temple are all ordinary things. You won't need them if you go up there."

Upon hearing this, Mo You said, "...Okay."

Then, the group disappeared from the spot.
