"Okay! Please wait a moment, young lady."
Bai Xi responded.
The female ghost from the brothel winked at Bai Xi, "Thank you, sir."
Bai Xi, "..."
Lin Xinxi got goosebumps all over. "Can't you speak properly?"
The courtesan ghost blinked, "Am I speaking incorrectly?"
Lin Xinxi, "..."
Chen Yuan looked at this scene, somewhat bewildered, and asked, "Master, who are you talking to?"
Chen Yuan had seen a ghost with her own eyes last night, and Bai Xi had no intention of hiding it from her, so she said, "It's a ghost I raised."
Chen Yuan paused, her hand holding chopsticks still, and glanced at the empty seat next to Bai Xi. She asked cautiously, "Is she sitting there?"
Bai Xi: "Mmm."
As the owner of a clothing company, she had seen her share of ups and downs, and quickly suppressed her agitated emotions, saying, "Oh..."
Just then, the green pepper and shredded pork noodles were served, and the courtesan ghost immediately slurped it down when no one was watching.
Then his eyes lit up, "Wow! This noodle tastes pretty good."
Then, she slurped up the whole bowl of green pepper and pork noodles, even drinking the soup clean.
She touched her stomach and let out a non-existent burp.
Then, she winked at Bai Xi again, "This noodle is delicious, thank you, sir."
Chen Yuan watched as the steaming bowl of green pepper and shredded pork noodles in front of Bai Xi disappeared bit by bit.
Even though she had seen so many storms, she still found the scene before her somewhat unbelievable.
Bai Xi is still eating her noodles.
At this moment, Aunt Huang saw Chen Yuan sitting at a roadside stall eating noodles.
Chen Yuan was sitting next to the young female Taoist priest. Her eyes lit up, and she quickly led her daughter and Sister Wu over.
"Sister Chen Yuan!" Huang Meng called out first.
Then Bai Xi and Chen Yuan saw them.
Aunt Huang walked over and looked at Bai Xi, saying, "Master, could you do us a favor?"
Bai Xi: "You want me to help this Sister Wu, right?"
Sister Wu stood silently beside Aunt Huang.
Upon hearing this, Aunt Huang asked in surprise, "Hmm, Master, how did you know?"
"I can tell just by looking at her face," Bai Xi said.
At this moment, Sister Wu finally looked up at the young girl.
Upon seeing this, Aunt Huang said, "Master, since you know about this, please help my friend."
As she spoke, she rolled up Sister Wu's sleeves, revealing patches of bruised and purple skin, as well as shocking scars and cigarette burn marks all over her legs.
Chen Yuan felt a pang of pity watching this.
Aunt Huang said, "My friend Wu Jun is unlucky. She married an alcoholic, and her husband often abuses her. I can't help but cry every time I see it."
Bai Xi glanced at Sister Wu and said indifferently, "You should ask someone else for help with this."
Aunt Huang said, "Why? Master, I'll give you money."
Bai Xi said, "I have no connection with her, so I can't help her."
Aunt Huang was taken aback. "How could that be?"
For such capable masters, it's just a matter of lifting a finger. Why would you say there's no affinity?
"I just want the master to help my friend and stop her husband from beating her."
Chen Yuan said, "She's been beaten like this, why don't you just get a divorce? Go through legal proceedings?"
Aunt Huang paused, "She...she has two daughters and a son. If she gets a divorce, how will she live alone with so many children?"
Chen Yuan fell silent.
Aunt Huang pleaded with Bai Xi, while Aunt Wu beside her looked pitiful.
Bai Xi still says, "I only help those who are destined to be helped."
“However, I can give her a good luck charm.” With that, she took a folded yellow charm out of her pocket and handed it to her.
Aunt Huang thanked the master on behalf of her friend.
Bai Xi said, "I have said all I need to say. You don't need to beg anymore. You may leave."
Upon hearing this, Aunt Huang and Sister Wu looked dejected.
Before leaving, he said again, "Master, are you really not going to help with this?"
Bai Xi shook her head.
Seeing this, Aunt Huang had no choice but to lead them away.
Bai Xi continued eating the last bit of noodles in her bowl.
Upon seeing this, Chen Yuan said, "Master, why did you say that you have no fate with that Sister Wu? She does look quite pitiful."
Bai Xi paused for a moment and then said, "Actually, her problem is easy to solve. If you want to help, just hire a lawyer for her to get a divorce."
"But... Sister Wu would rather be beaten than have any thought of divorce. Moreover, she is timid and weak by nature. Having been trapped in domestic violence by her husband for many years, she no longer dares to disobey or resist him."
"She dared not mention divorce, because if she did, she would face even more severe domestic violence; however..."
Bai Xi changed the subject, "Deep down, she was still hoping and fantasizing that her husband would change his mind and treat her well again."
"She felt she was living a miserable life and hoped others would help her, but all she wanted was for someone to persuade her husband to return to the gentle way he used to be with her."
"But other people help her more by helping her escape domestic violence, so... she won't accept your help. She might even say that you didn't help her."
After listening, Chen Yuan suddenly felt a bit disappointed and said, "Is she out of her mind? Even after all this, she still expects that scumbag to change his mind?"
Lin Xinxi and the female ghost from the brothel nodded in agreement.
The courtesan ghost said, "If it were my temperament, and someone dared to hit me, I would fight them to the death and then kick them."
