Chapter 41 The Thief
Jiang Liyue threw herself into Zhou Yulin's arms again, and his two large hands firmly held her waist.
The lingering fragrance emanating from her skin filled Zhou Yulin's nostrils, and his eyes reddened with excitement.
His skin was very fair, and the blush added a touch of allure to his handsome features.
Even her breathing became a little rapid.
Not long after, Jiang Liyue stepped out of his embrace and looked up at him: "Husband, did you see anyone else when you came over?"
Zhou Yulin recalled the panicked little insects fleeing, paused, and shook his head without any emotion: "No."
Those foul-smelling insects must not disturb his and Yueyue's time together.
Jiang Liyue did not miss the obsession that flashed in his eyes.
And there was the disgust in his tone towards others.
This guy is lying again, and he's not even trying to be sincere when he's lying.
She was already familiar with the possessiveness of these strange creatures towards her, so she wasn't surprised at all.
Instead, there was a sense of familiarity. She smiled and tilted her head, then slipped her hand into his palm and scratched it affectionately: "Shall we go find them, honey?"
The mission still includes finding the monster among them, so the others are still useful.
Zhou Yulin was initially somewhat resistant, but when she met Jiang Liyue's expectant gaze...
Without thinking, he agreed: "Okay."
He only showed regret after he finished speaking.
Jiang Liyue smiled brightly the moment she saw the moon, like a beautiful flower blooming in the night: "Husband, you're so good to me."
Zhou and Lin forgot all their regrets; the only sensation left in their bodies was their clasped hands.
I can only say that there's no puppy that Yueyue can't tame.
Is it possible that this isn't a puppy, but a terrifying being from within the dungeon?
It's okay, everyone else is just Yue-jie's dog of a man.
Zhou Yulin held Jiang Liyue's hand with one hand and carried a flashlight in the other, walking deeper into the corridor.
Before leaving, Jiang Liyue didn't forget to say goodbye to the painting frame: "Sister, I'm leaving now. I'll come to see you again later."
Alice in the painting frame didn't speak; only her dark eyes in the oil painting followed Jiang Liyue's back.
Goodbye, little angel, and best of luck.
The next moment, a cold gaze fell upon her, and Alice immediately shrank into the picture frame.
Jiang Liyue and Zhou Yulin walked back into the darkness, away from the corridor filled with oil paintings.
Noticing that Zhou Yulin had turned his head to look, she asked him curiously, "Honey, what are you looking at?"
"It's nothing." Zhou Yulin looked away.
They're just some little bugs eyeing Yueyue. His Yueyue is too cute, which is why she always attracts these dirty things.
A flash of murderous intent crossed his eyes, but it quickly disappeared.
Jiang Liyue sensed the deeper meaning in his words and did not press him further. Instead, she brought up the information Alice had told her.
"She said the first owner of the villa was a collector who loved collecting strange and unusual things, and she was one of his collections."
This also explains why, even though this villa was only built a little over a decade ago, the paintings inside have a medieval style.
A villa that's a dozen years old is unlikely to be a haunted house, but if it contains all sorts of strange artifacts that are hundreds or even thousands of years old, then who knows?
Jiang Liyue didn't know whether the villa owner knew that his collection consisted of living things; she could only piece together a roughly complete story.
The collector had a fanatical love for inhuman collectibles until he acquired an evil artifact.
That is, the bad things that Alice mentioned.
Unlike Alice and her friends, this artifact is not gentle; instead, it contains a terrifying and evil power.
Perhaps the collector was possessed and, in his madness, killed everyone in the villa.
The subsequent owners of the villa also died in the same way.
Then this place became the legendary Blood Moon Villa.
"This story teaches us not to bring random, haphazard things home to collect," Jiang Liyue concluded solemnly.
"What do you think, honey?" she said, tilting her head to carefully observe Zhou Yulin's expression.
She told Zhou Yulin these things mainly to test him.
Since Zhou Yulin isn't the monster mentioned in the mission, what is his purpose in coming to Blood Moon Villa?
Were you here for a particular item in the collection?
Zhou Yulin, true to form, disdained pretense, his expression revealing a hint of contempt: "Just a thief."
He chuckled at Jiang Liyue's probing and curious gaze: "Thieves will pay the price."
He said this with a smug expression, staring intently at Jiang Liyue without blinking.
It looks a bit like a puppy waiting for its owner to praise it.
Jiang Liyue pretended not to know what she wanted to hear, shook Zhou Yulin's arm, and said in a pitiful tone, "Is that thing very powerful? Are we really going to die here? Honey, I'm scared."
"Not impressive." Zhou Yulin felt her approach and managed to utter three words after a long pause.
I still feel a little wronged.
Why does Yueyue always praise that thief when he's clearly more capable?
Seeing his stubborn expression and pursed lips, Jiang Liyue finally couldn't help but burst out laughing: "I know, my husband will definitely protect me."
Zhou Yulin's expression immediately became sticky: "Of course."
I will protect you, Yueyue, as long as we never separate...
While talking to Zhou Yulin, Jiang Liyue used a flashlight to observe the surroundings.
After passing the same plant for the third time, she realized they must be lost.
Zhou Yulin continued walking calmly, his leisurely demeanor making it seem as if this was not a terrifying villa but his own home.
When he noticed Jiang Liyue had stopped, he turned around with a puzzled look on his face.
Jiang Liyue pointed to the green plants next to her: "It seems like we've come all the way back. Honey, do you really know which way to go?"
Upon hearing this, Zhou Yulin's face showed a hint of unease.
Although he had promised Jiang Liyue that he would go with her to find the other people, he deliberately avoided the annoying little bugs when he actually left.
Jiang Liyue caught his expression and understood.
That scoundrel is clearly doing it on purpose!
Zhou Yulin felt a little guilty under Jiang Liyue's probing gaze, and his eyes darted to the side a couple of times.
The next moment, he heard irregular footsteps, and his eyes lit up instantly: "Someone's coming."
Then he stared at Jiang Liyue expectantly, as if trying to please her: See, I didn't lie to you, I really didn't lead you astray.
Jiang Liyue knew what he meant, and with her eyes sparkling, she replied perfunctorily, "Mmm, my husband is so amazing."
As she spoke, she picked up a flashlight and pointed it in the direction of the sound, which met Ma Lulu's panicked face.
And behind her was Zhu Ming, whose skin was rotting and filled with greed and malice.
