Chapter 54: The Disaster of Witchcraft

In 91 BC, Princess Zhuyi and Princess Yangshi were executed for the crime of witchcraft. Also implicated were Wei Kang, the son of Wei Qing, and Cao Zong, the son of Princess Wei Chang.

Later, Liu Che fell ill in Ganquan Palace. Jiang Chong, this trash, saw that Liu Che was already old, and Liu Ju's benevolence was completely contradictory to his cruelty, so for his own safety, he began to frame Liu Ju first.

It was said that the reason Liu Che fell ill was because someone used witchcraft to harm him. Liu Che was afraid, so he asked Jiang Chong to investigate. Jiang Chong searched everywhere, and whenever he found a puppet, he would arrest the person and force him to confess by burning him with fire. Tens of thousands of people died because of this.

Since this incident, people all over the world have been in panic. As he grew older, Emperor Liu Che became more and more afraid of this, and his long-term illness could not be cured. Jiang Chong said that there were people in the palace practicing witchcraft, which caused Emperor Liu Che's illness to never be cured.

Liu Che actually believed it. Not only that, he also asked Su Wen, Han Shuo and others to assist Jiang Chong in the investigation.

So, Jiang Chong started with the unfavored ladies in the palace, and gradually extended his search to the palace of Empress Wei Zifu. He found nothing in Wei Zifu's palace, and finally, Jiang Chong arrived at his destination - the Eastern Palace of Crown Prince Liu Ju, and very smoothly, he found a paulownia wood doll.

Liu Che kicked over the documents and threw away everything that could cause trouble. "Bring Jiang Chong and others here!"

The sinister voice echoed in the hall, and the ministers trembled. Wei Qing and Huo Qubing knelt on the ground, their eyes full of hatred.

Soon, Jiang Chong and others were brought to the palace. "Your Majesty, Your Majesty, this is unjust. Even if I had the courage of heaven, I would not dare to frame the future crown prince."

The guard beside Liu Che drew his sword from his waist and slashed at Jiang Chong. Jiang Chong screamed and his arm fell to the ground covered in blood.

Blood splashed on Liu Che's face, but he was unaware and raised his sword to strike again.

Broken leg.

Wei Qing and Huo Qubing watched this scene coldly.

"Your Majesty, please spare my life, Your Majesty, please spare my life..."

Jiang Chong begged for mercy miserably.

But Liu Che was so angry that his eyes turned red, and it was not easy for him to stop. What was even more terrible was that Zhou Jia was watching the fun and even started to stir up trouble. She smiled and applauded enthusiastically.

"I truly admire Lord Jiang Chong and Lord Zhao Gao. I bet you must be incredibly proud, single-handedly manipulating a wise and powerful emperor and the future crown prince. Don't you feel a special sense of accomplishment? You're truly amazing! Applause! And let's celebrate how Liu Che and Liu Ju were so easily manipulated by a mere courtier!"

So ironic.

Liu Che was already angry, and Zhou Jia added fuel to the fire, causing him to suffer internal injuries and vomit blood.

"His Majesty!"

Liu Che stood with his sword and bow in his hands, shaking with anger, and pointed his trembling index finger at Zhou Jia on the screen.

“Let, let…”

The young Liu Che was so angry that he vomited blood, and the old Liu Che was so angry that he fainted.

The other emperors of the Liu family were so angry that they were shaking all over. An emperor and a prince were so easily tricked!

The Eastern Han Dynasty was in chaos.

Qin

Zhao Gao, who was pulled out and named, had already gone mad under the constant torture every day and laughed loudly.

"Hahaha, I'm about to succeed. I'll soon be second only to the emperor and above everyone else. No matter what happens to the First Emperor or Fusu, I'm still the winner. Hahaha..."

The clerk guarding Zhao Gao became even more disgusted when he saw him like this.

If His Majesty had not ordered that he should not die so easily, he would have killed this man at all costs.

Who dares to disrespect their Majesty?

Xianyang Palace

As soon as Zhao Gao's name appeared, the temperature in the Xianyang Palace dropped significantly.

Ying Zheng became increasingly unhappy.

Zhao Gao...

"Your Majesty, please calm down. Miss Zhou Jia has lost her mind due to anger." Fusu said.

Ying Zheng glanced at him and asked, "Do you want me to tell you?"

How could he not know that this girl was mad?

But I still want to beat her up.

This guy never lets you off the hook.

Song Dynasty

Zhao Kuangyin said with some fear: "This kid really dares to say anything."

Wei Zheng is probably no more than this.

He suddenly felt fortunate that there was no one with Zhou Jia's personality in his court, otherwise he would probably be unhappy all day long.

Zhou Jia ignored him and continued after pouring oil:

"This is not the most outrageous thing, what follows is Jiang Chong's highlight moment.

Of course, Liu Ju did not expect that such things would be dug out in his own palace. The key point was that Liu Che was still recuperating in Ganquan Palace at that time and could not communicate. So he called the Shaofu Shi De to ask for countermeasures. Shi De was afraid that he would be punished together with the prince's teacher, so he began to persuade him.

"I had Liu Ju forge an imperial decree to arrest Jiang Chong and the others and put them in jail, and investigate all their schemes and plots. Furthermore, Liu Ju went to Ganquan Palace to recuperate, and when Concubine Wei Zifu went to pay her respects, she received no response, and did not know whether the emperor was alive or dead. He also used Prince Fusu as an example, and so Liu Ju adopted Shi De's advice."

Fusu: ...

Continue to be created.

So he really became a negative example for all the princes who came after him?

Ying Zheng looked at Fusu with disappointment.

Fusu lowered his eyes guiltily.

Chinese

Liu Che felt much better under the treatment of the imperial physician. He calmed down and continued to listen.

It is understandable that he went to Ganquan Palace to recuperate, but it would be a problem if he did not receive the greetings from the Queen and the Crown Prince. In this case, Shi De's proposal was not unreasonable.

But since the prince has already accepted it, how could it turn into a rebellion?

Liu Che's cold gaze fell on Jiang Chong.

In the second year of the Zhenghe reign (91 BC), Liu Ju sent a guest disguised as an envoy to forge an imperial edict to arrest Jiang Chong. Han Shuo suspected a trick and refused to obey the edict. The guest killed Han Shuo, but Zhang Gan, the imperial censor who had assisted Jiang Chong, escaped and went to meet Liu Che at Ganquan Palace.
