Such loud shouting naturally attracted the attention of many people.
Xu Nian immediately got up and looked over, and found a woman kneeling on the ground crying loudly.
She looked closely and noticed a deep pit next to the woman, surrounded by weeds, which seemed to be a man-made trap.
"Help! Someone come quick!"
The woman looked at the crowd helplessly; the pit was too deep, and she couldn't possibly rescue the child by herself.
"Don't worry, I have a rope."
As Xu Nian spoke, she pulled out a large bundle of rope from her spatial storage. "Come on, a few strong men, and pull the baby up here."
As soon as he said this, the kind-hearted men around him immediately surrounded him.
Xu Nian told them to hold the rope one by one, while she walked to the side of the pit, looked at the child crying loudly inside, and gently comforted him.
"Don't cry, little one, your sister is here to save you. I'll tie the rope around your waist in a bit, understand?"
The baby had many injuries, but it still wiped away its tears and nodded its head with difficulty.
Seeing this, Xu Nian no longer hesitated and threw the rope in her hand down.
[Oh my god, this child is so small, won't it get tangled?]
Probably so. I've heard that people in ancient times matured very early.
[It's heartbreaking to watch. If he falls like that, won't something terrible happen to him?]
"Big sister, pull the rope hard!"
Seeing the baby gripping the rope tightly, Xu Nian shouted and kept a close eye on the situation in the pit.
"Hey! Whoosh!"
Everyone immediately started pulling the rope upwards, putting all their strength into it.
The doll itself isn't heavy, but the hole is quite deep, so pulling it up from the bottom requires a lot of effort.
Gu Zhan arrived a little late, but he pulled hard at the end of the rope and quickly pulled the child up.
"Child, are you alright?"
Upon seeing the child being pulled up, the woman immediately cried and hugged the child, but then suddenly exclaimed in horror, "Blood! He has blood on him!"
This startled everyone, and they all looked over.
The child fell into the huge pit, seemingly landing on his back. He was lying face down, his shoulders and below him covered in a bloody mess.
"My poor son..."
The woman immediately burst into tears in panic, and then, as if she had suddenly remembered something, she ran to Xu Nian and hurriedly knelt down.
"Imperial fortune teller, please save my child!"
Faced with such a plea, Xu Nian quickly reached out to help her up, saying, "You don't need to do this, I will definitely save him."
Upon hearing this, the woman finally relaxed and nervously watched Xu Nian's movements.
Xu Nian bent down and carefully examined the child's condition.
There were quite a few superficial injuries, and because the child's body is weak, he also broke a few bones. Apart from that, there were no other injuries.
After making the judgment, Xu Nian couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
While the situation wasn't ideal, it wasn't terrible either; she could still provide timely treatment.
"Get him some water, we'll feed him later."
Xu Nian gave a brief instruction, then closed her eyes tightly and began frantically kneading talismans with her hands.
Compared to her previous effortless methods, Xu Nian put in a lot of effort this time and used some tricks to make the child feel less pain.
As Xu Nian slowly channeled her magic into the child's body, the broken bones seemed to be under some kind of magic, miraculously healing themselves.
"Cough cough cough!"
The child, who had been unconscious, began to cough uncontrollably and vomited a large amount of blood.
This scene immediately caused the child's mother a pang of heartache.
"Give them water."
Xu Nian continued working with her hands and whispered a reminder.
The woman immediately fed the child the water in her hand, her eyes filled with worry.
Wow, the streamer can even heal people?!
[Fun fact: Besides dancing, streamers are incredibly talented.]
[The child looks much better; the streamer is amazing!]
Xu Nian glanced briefly at the skin wound on the child's back, took out a cool ointment from her spatial storage, and handed it to the woman.
"Apply this medicine three times a day from now on. Remember not to get it wet and not to eat raw or cold food, understand?"
"I remember, I remember," the woman nodded repeatedly.
Finally, after treating the child, Xu Nian breathed a sigh of relief, but the exhaustion caused by the depletion of her magical power returned.
She felt dizzy and her vision went black. Before she could even call out, she fell into a familiar embrace.
"I'm here, go to sleep."
Gu Zhan held the weakened Xu Nian in his arms, his voice calm.
In an instant, Xu Nian felt relieved, closed her eyes, and began to rest.
Gu Zhan was not surprised by this; in fact, he was somewhat used to it.
He was already aware that Xu Nian possessed the power of talismans, and he also understood that using such powerful energy would naturally cause his body to suffer a backlash.
Actually, that's not the case. The biggest reason why Xu Nian is in this situation is because she lacks magical power and her capacity is insufficient to support her release.
Xu Nian rested for a while before the feeling of fatigue disappeared.
After all, this isn't exactly a forbidden technique; it just makes you weak for a short while.
"Thank you." Xu Nian blurted out subconsciously.
Then, she froze on the spot.
It seems she says this to Gu Zhan every day since she met him.
Thinking of this, Xu Nian couldn't help but look at Gu Zhan with respect, "You've helped me so much, my good brother, I admire you from the bottom of my heart."
In response to Xu Nian's sudden seriousness, Gu Zhan merely gave a barely perceptible smile, "If you want to thank me, then dance again."
