"Did you return the pen to Wei Chengye?"
When Wu Chunqin went upstairs and returned home, Professor Shen and his son Shen Huan were still tidying up the living room. Professor Shen mopped the floor while Shen Huan collected the trash. The father and son worked together very well, and it was obvious that they were the type who often did housework at home.
Wu Chunqin smiled and nodded. "I gave it back to him. Wen Ying hadn't left yet, and Old Wei was talking to her downstairs. You two have worked hard today, one cooking and the other entertaining the guests. I'll do the rest."
Wu Chunqin said as she was about to take the mop from Professor Shen.
Professor Shen stopped what he was doing and asked, "What do Wei Chengye and Xiao Wen have to say?"
"They said they wanted to consult Wen Ying about a case, and it seemed they would need Wen Ying's professional knowledge..."
Wu Chunqin took the mop and froze in the middle of her words.
What professional questions does Wei Chengye want to consult Wen Ying about?
If he wanted advice on finance, Wen Ying was just an undergraduate, so Wei Chengye could easily ask Wu Chunqin to help him find a great professor at Aurora University. If he wanted advice on writing and publishing, Wen Ying could be a good option...but why didn't Wei Chengye even mention it at the dinner table?
Professor Shen suddenly realized, "I was wondering why he stayed for dinner today. He must have been waiting for Xiao Wen on purpose!"
Wu Chunqin thought about it. Wei Chengye had called her before coming today, asking if it was convenient for her to come. Wu Chunqin said it was not inconvenient. Although she had a dinner date with a friend's family that evening, she was still free in the afternoon. Wei Chengye asked her who the friend was... Had she mentioned Wen Ying at the time? It seemed that she had.
The smile on Wu Chunqin's face disappeared.
Wei Chengye might have really come for Wen Ying, so after he arrived, he kept chatting with Wu Chunqin. When they were chatting excitedly, Wu Chunqin saw that it was getting late and asked Wei Chengye to stay for dinner.
Wei Chengye did not refuse.
"Does he have something to ask Wen Ying, or can't he just say it directly?"
Wu Chunqin muttered to herself.
Before Professor Shen could say anything, Shen Huan answered, "Of course it's about the lawsuit! Maybe he's not looking for Sister Xiaoying, but looking for someone else through Sister Xiaoying... Uncle Wei is so mean!"
Shen Huan was a smart little boy, and both Professor Shen and Wu Chunqin's expressions changed drastically.
The couple both thought of Xie Qian's case.
Everyone knew that Xie Qian had applied for late admission to the school because of a car accident. What was not known was that Xie Qian's car accident was not an accident. It was not until Xie Qian asked for leave to go to the trial that Professor Shen knew it. Xie Qian's car accident was man-made. The other party's intention was to kill Xie Qian. Xie Qian was lucky to have survived!
The murderer was not only caught but also sentenced.
Professor Shen knew that this kind of case would not be executed in one go, and the murderer would definitely continue to struggle and appeal.
If other lawyers had appealed for the murderer, Professor Shen would not have been so excited. The law stipulates that the murderer has the right to appeal, and lawyers make a living by litigating cases, so of course they would accept the commission.
But if Wei Chengye took over the case and used Wu Chunqin to get close to Wen Ying, Professor Shen would be very, very uncomfortable!
Is this all Wei Chengye needs?!
Without saying a word, Wu Chunqin put down the mop and went downstairs. After a while, she came back with a very unhappy look on her face.
"They're no longer downstairs. I called Lao Wei but he didn't answer!"
"Where's Xiao Wen's phone number?"
Professor Shen asked.
Wu Chunqin shook her head. "She didn't answer the phone either. I'm not worried about what Lao Wei will do to Wen Ying. He doesn't need to break the law for a lawsuit, but—"
But Wei Chengye might take advantage of Wen Ying's youth and use his experience and shrewdness to deceive the girl!
Wu Chunqin was both angry and worried.
I am angry that Wei Chengye and Wu Chunqin, friends of many years, are playing this trick on each other; I am worried that Wen Ying has no defense against Wei Chengye and that Wei Chengye really tricks her into revealing important information. What should I do?
Professor Shen felt that even if the two were no longer in the family compound, they should not have gone far, so he put on his coat and went out to look for them.
Shen Huan was the only one who wasn't worried.
Wei Chengye did not act in a fair manner, so Shen Huan stood on Wen Ying's side this time.
Wu Chunqin and Professor Shen both think that Wen Ying is an innocent little white rabbit and are afraid that Wen Ying will be deceived. However, Shen Huan has always thought that Wen Ying is a black-bellied little fox... Oh, Uncle Wei wants to deceive Sister Xiaoying, and in the end, who knows who will be the one deceiving whom!
Shen Huan packed up the garbage bag and said, "Mom, I'm going downstairs to throw away the garbage~"
After throwing away the garbage, Shen Huan did not go home immediately. He planned to take a stroll around the campus.
Although Professor Shen has taught at Aurora University for many years, his understanding of the campus is far inferior to that of Shen Huan. Shen Huan grew up in the staff housing and was a mischievous child who explored every corner of the school.
Chen Huan wondered, if he were Wen Ying or Wei Chengye, where would he go to talk?
Wen Yingjie wasn't familiar with Uncle Wei, so she wouldn't follow him so far at night. She was definitely still at school. Turning left from the staff quarters, there was an artificial lake on campus. Many couples who weren't studying would stroll along the lakeside at night, so the artificial lake was the first thing to be ruled out!
It's not a good place to talk about serious business.
If you don't want to go to the artificial lake, you have to turn right.
Turn right and go forward and you will see the school auditorium.
In front of the auditorium is a small square. The school's roller skating and hip-hop dance clubs both coveted that space and frequently held activities there. Initially, the two clubs were vying for space, and their activities often clashed, leaving both unhappy. Later, the student union intervened, assigning Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to the roller skating club, and Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays to the hip-hop dance club, with Sundays off. This finally brought the two sides to a halt.
Today is Friday, and the roller skating club is in the small square.
