After Xuemei sat down, she drank almost half of the porridge in the lunch box, then poured some boiling water into the lunch box from the kettle before handing it to Han Chen.
Mingwen also gave it to He Wanting first, repeatedly urging her to drink more and not to be afraid of going to the bathroom, as he would escort her there later. Mingwu waited for He Jing to sit down, then poured some porridge from her lunch box into his own, handed the rest to He Jing, and began to chug it himself.
While Han Chen was drinking porridge, Xuemei took out the lunch box containing vegetables, opened the lid and put it on the table, asking Mingwen and the others to eat corn cakes with the vegetables.
Xuemei also took out a corn bun, broke it in half, and began to eat one half with her vegetables. Han Chen's buns were quite large, weighing over two taels each. In fact, there was no need to wash them at all, as they were not greasy at all, so they just needed to be boiled in boiling water.
