Chapter 32 Moving the Dowry (1)

Liu Guanghui then took Liu Guangwei and Liu Guangding into Liu Xiu's room. Liu Guangwei deliberately made a lot of noise while Liu Guangding moved things. Liu Guanghui took the opportunity to look for the money in the room. After Liu Guanghui handed all the money to Mingzheng, the three brothers came out of the room.

"Village Chief Li, my sister still has a dowry box, a quilt, and some cloth that are missing. I suspect that this old woman has taken them for herself and put them in her room. I want to go to their rooms to check." Liu Guanghui showed the dowry list he got from Grandpa Liu to Village Chief Li.

Village chief Li looked at the list, checked the things Liu Guanghui and others took out, and nodded.

Liu Guanghui and the other two walked towards Old Lady Li's room, but Old Lady Li came over to stop them again, "Those are my things, you can't take them."

"Get out of the way, you bitch," said the village chief of Lijia Village. Guangzong carried Old Lady Li away. Liu Guanghui and his two brothers went in to play Pili Ping Pong for a while, and Liu Guanghui came out carrying a wooden box.

"Village Chief Li, this is my sister's dowry box. The quilt should be inside, but it is locked." Liu Guanghui said to Village Chief Li.

"Mrs. Li, open it quickly." said Village Chief Li.

"I don't have the key. I lost it. There are my own things in there. You can't take them."

"Brother Liu, I'm in charge, you guys break it open."

Liu Guangding used a stone to break the lock, and all of Liu Xiu's things were inside.

"Village chief, my two nieces are staying at my eldest brother's house. The older one doesn't even have a pair of shoes. I have to go get them something."

Village chief Li nodded. Now he just wanted to end this farce as soon as possible.

Liu Guanghui returned to Liu Xiu's room and handed the money he had just found to Mingzheng. He whispered to Mingzheng, "Mingzheng, go to the intersection of Orange Village and find a place to hide and wait for us to come out. When you go out, avoid people and don't let anyone find you, okay?" Mingzheng nodded.

Liu Guanghui waited until Mingzheng left before coming out, holding two old cotton-padded jackets that were so tattered that they couldn't be any more torn and a pair of worn-out shoes.

"Village chief, once we've got our things, we're leaving."

Village chief Li nodded with a headache.

Just as Liu Guanghui and his companions were about to put their belongings on the oxcart, Yi Daming arrived with two policemen pushing bicycles.
