Chapter 52: A Decent Older Man Seeking a Partner.

Chapter 52: A Decent Older Man Seeking a Partner.

Zhong Yan specially set aside a week for Jin Huan's birthday at the end of September.

Jin Huan was so busy that she was completely lost, and she had no idea what she was doing all day long. As soon as she opened her eyes, she started thinking about problems, and even at night she dreamed about those incomprehensible data.

The greatest joy is finding happiness even in hardship.

She has found interest in being busy in these busy days. Once a person has that drive and works in that direction, they will feel infinitely excited as they get closer to their goal.

Jin Huan is like this now.

She was incredibly energetic and happy, working with great enthusiasm.

When Zhong Yan said he would take her out for a few days, her first reaction was that it was time to rest. Now, letting her rest would be worse than killing her.

Jin Huan clung to her book, refusing to let go; she wanted to study more, she could still learn.

She can learn until the end of time.

Zhong Yan shook his head helplessly. All he could think about now was how easy it was for Tan Xi to be a teacher.

Other students are distressed by their students' lack of study and try to figure out how to get them to learn more. But Jin Huan's student is different; she gets upset if she's not allowed to study.

Zhong Yan has seen all her hard work during this time.

Jin Huan is such a hardworking and obedient student that he has moved his study base from his bed to his study room, where he has taken up half of his space.

Her frequently used books and notebooks were already stacked up to half a person's height.

If you look down again, you can't even see your head from the front.

Sigh... How could I have turned myself into this?

"Try to balance work and rest," Zhong Yan patiently advised her. "Enjoy yourself; proper relaxation will help you learn better."

Zhong Yan squeezed her a glass of fresh orange juice and then acknowledged her, saying, "You've done a good enough job already."

You can't get fat in one bite, and the same goes for learning. Pursuing a doctorate will be a long-term battle, and the real difficulties are yet to come. What you're doing now is nothing; you've only just begun.

"Where are we going?" Jin Huan asked him, a little curious about the trip he was talking about.

Zhong Yan didn't answer, but gently squeezed her fingers: "Go pack your things first."

Jin Huan's period is approaching in a few days, and every time this happens, she feels pain in her lower back, back, and all over her body, as if she's being hammered. When she cries out in pain, Zhong Yan lets her lie on top of him and patiently and gently massages her.

The flesh on both sides of the waist is the softest, especially for girls. It's like the little bit inside a fish's gills—soft, white, and delicate, without a single bone. It's the most relaxing place to lie on his lap.

I've lost a bit of weight recently; there's only a little bit of flesh left, just under the skin.

Zhong Yan's grip strength was just right.

Jin Huan was enjoying herself the most at this moment. She closed her eyes and felt the soreness easing. Along with it came a tingling sensation after the soreness subsided. Her waist was the softest and most sensitive part, as if she were stepping on countless nerve endings, and the sensation was constantly seeping outwards from there.

Jin Huan stretched out her arm and gestured with her lips: "And here too."

My shoulders and arms are also very sore, probably because I'm always looking down at books and doing experiments. It feels like the pain is deep in my bones... I need Mr. Zhong to massage them.

"A little harder, it doesn't hurt." Jin Huan groaned a few times, saying "a little harder, a little more." Zhong Yan's throat tightened slightly, and his grip tightened involuntarily in response to her words.

I was worried about her health and that she wouldn't have the energy to study, so I basically didn't do it for several days at a time. I would only ask her about it the day before Sunday and ask if it was okay.

What daddy would go to such lengths?

Zhong Yan bought a plane ticket for tomorrow noon. She packed her things tonight so she wouldn't have to get up early tomorrow. She could have a leisurely breakfast after getting up before heading to the airport.

Huan has almost finished packing everything.

She was only going for a few days and didn't bring much. Jin Huan only packed a small suitcase, the kind that could be taken on board and didn't need to be checked. Even though the suitcase was so small, she still put a few books in it.

As she packed, Zhong Yan watched her from the side and thoughtfully asked if this number of books was too few and whether she should bring some more to put in.

Jin Huan is genuinely thinking about this issue seriously.

She glanced at Zhong Yan, then at the suitcase she was packing. There wasn't much room left in it, and it would be too heavy if she packed too much. So she tentatively asked, "Can you fit anything else in your suitcase?"

Yes, now they've set their sights on him.

Zhong Yan pinched her nose and chuckled, "Stop pretending. If you try to fit so much into your head, how many lines of text can you actually read?"

These words subtly implied that this journey was not so simple. Jin Huan now knew Zhong Yan to some extent; she was probably the second person, after Zhong Yan himself, who knew him best.

Zhong Yan's fingers had already pressed against the back of her neck. This area was a bit hard, which is what traditional Chinese medicine calls blood and qi stagnation. The path to a smart brain becomes less smooth.

Jin Huan unknowingly fell asleep.

She's really exhausted lately, getting far too little sleep each day. She can barely keep her eyes open, so she relies on coffee to keep going. But even coffee sometimes stops working, and drinking too much can boost immunity.

When she woke up again, she was still lying on Zhong Yan's lap.

He held her hand in his, occasionally squeezing her fingers. Seeing that she was awake, he smiled and asked her if she was feeling a little clearer now.

I still want to sleep a little longer.

"What time is it?" Jin Huan's eyelids were drooping, and she closed her eyes again, her voice lazy, as if she could sleep until tomorrow morning.

"It's only six o'clock," Zhong Yan replied.

It's not dark outside yet. If I keep sleeping now, I'll wake up and won't be able to sleep when it's dark and I should be sleeping. I slept so soundly this afternoon, lying in his arms for more than two hours without moving.

Zhong Yan felt drowsy. He rubbed his temples to suppress the fatigue and coaxed her softly, "Get up and eat something to wake yourself up. Sleeping for too long is uncomfortable."

"No, it felt really good." Jin Huan rolled over in his arms, reluctant to leave. "My back doesn't ache anymore."

Jin Huan's hand was still being held in his. Her manicure, which she had done recently, had already grown out a bit. She had removed it before the start of the semester, otherwise it would have been inconvenient for her experiments.

My hands are now completely clean, the only accessory I own is a ring.

The hand Zhong Yan was holding had a ring of the same style.

Their hands were clasped together, and their rings were placed side by side, creating a quiet and warm scene, much like a framed painting.

It's a wedding ring.

As Jin Huan stared down at it, this thought popped into her mind.

She leaned over and gently kissed his fingers.

Feeling the warm, damp sensation on her fingers, Zhong Yan moved his hand slightly, looking down at her with doting eyes until Jin Huan felt embarrassed. She then buried her head in his and whispered to him, "No one is better than Daddy."

Our little darling is so good at sweet-talking; he easily charmed people into pouting.

.

They arrived in Florence at 9 p.m. local time. The long flight of more than ten hours was still too much for Jin Huan.

She slept the entire way on the plane, and even after arriving at her apartment, she continued to sleep.

She slept like a little lazy pig.

This is how I made up for all the sleep I hadn't had during this period, sleeping until I was completely exhausted.

Jin Huan woke up again at 8:00 AM local time.

The decor was completely different, dominated by warm tones of light brown and beige. Sunlight streamed in through the window, almost soaking her through. Jin Huan, having slept too long, stretched comfortably. When she opened her eyes, she saw Zhong Yan standing by the window.

The little lazy pig was slow-witted, with half of its waist exposed, revealing its white belly. The unfamiliar environment inevitably made people feel uneasy, so Jin Huan reached out to it, acting cute and wanting a hug.

Zhong Yan sat down, chuckling softly, and gave his wife a hug: "Do you know how long you've been asleep?"

This level of awareness.

Zhong Yan patted her on the back and teased her, calling her a lazy pig.

I don't deny that I'm a lazy pig myself.

In the unfamiliar environment, the scent of him made her feel at ease. Jin Huan rubbed her head against his palm and mumbled, "What are our plans for today?"

She doesn't travel often. The last time she went was to Xinjiang with her aunt. It was a winter trip, and the two of them traveled quite casually, mostly just lying in bed watching the snow outside.

I don't like to plan trips; I just go wherever the road takes me.

"No," Zhong Yan said. "I'm going to sleep."

Jin Huan let out a soft "Ah," then looked up at Zhong Yan and asked, "Just sleeping?"

Zhong Yan smiled slowly: "What else?"

Jin Huan rolled around in the blanket and softly replied, "Okay."

After a whole day of alternating sleep and wakefulness, Jin Huan fully recovered her energy. By the time the sun rose the next morning, she was refreshed, her eyes were clear, and she let out a long sigh of relief. She had never felt so comfortable before.

After washing up, Jin Huan took out her face wash from her suitcase and began to take care of her skin. She had been so busy lately that she had neglected her skin condition, and her chin was slightly red due to the changing seasons.

She has this bad habit of being overly sensitive.

I saw Zhong Yan wearing a new suit in the mirror.

The clothes were well-tailored and of excellent quality, exuding an air of luxury and sophistication. With Zhong Yan's natural talent for clothes, any garment would look exceptionally good on him. He effortlessly carried each piece of clothing with ease.

His hair was meticulously styled, and he wore a touch of cologne. At his age, he exuded a certain gravitas that one might expect from an older man seeking a partner. He looked at Jin Huan gently and asked, "Do you like watching this?"

I can't help but stare at things I like.

Jin Huan nodded and softly complimented him, "You are dressed very well."

Zhong Yan couldn't help but laugh, rubbing his forehead: "What kind of description is that?"

It means being respectable.

Zhong Yan is a person who dresses and acts respectably when he is out. When he is with her, they will only hold hands and touch cheeks. If they can't help but kiss, they will do so in the car or in the office. But it's a different story when the two of them are at home.

He was still respectable; it was she who was not.

Zhong Yan loved hearing Jin Huan praise him, loved the way she looked at him when he was dressed neatly, and he even had reached a point where he was interested in dressing up for his wife, like a peacock displaying its tail feathers.

As long as she likes it, as long as she can take a few more glances, it's something that Zhong Yan is very happy to see.

So what if he's so much older than her? She genuinely likes him, and the look of affection in one's eyes never lies.

"Why is your face red?" Zhong Yan noticed carefully, so he walked over and bent down to look.

"I'm having an allergic reaction." Jin Huan frowned, looking distressed. "I've always had this problem. I had an allergic reaction the first time I met you, and I even had to take allergy medication."

"Is it serious?" Zhong Yan bent his finger and gently brushed his finger across her face. He only touched it and couldn't feel any difference in temperature between this area and the rest of her face.

Jin Huan took the initiative to raise her face to face him: "What do you think?"

It's only a little bit, not enough to warrant allergy medication. I just don't know if it will cause any problems adjusting to the new environment. If it gets worse, that would be troublesome.

Zhong Yan examined the reddened areas closely. His breath was warm against her skin. He leaned closer and whispered, "In this state, a little light makeup should be fine, right?"

Jin Huan thought for a moment, then hesitated and said, "Is it alright?"

However, it's not necessary to wear makeup. She doesn't usually wear makeup very often, so it's best not to bother herself like this.

Just as Jin Huan was about to speak, Zhong Yan pulled her up and said softly, "Let's go downstairs and change your clothes."

A question mark slowly appeared above Jin Huan's head as she looked at Zhong Yan with a puzzled expression: "Huh?"

“The dress from last time has been altered, and I had it delivered directly here.” Her hands were warm from sleeping for so long, and they were easy to hold. Zhong Yan pulled them into his arms. “Try it on later.”

Jin Huan was still in a daze. She leaned against Zhong Yan, stood on tiptoe, and asked, "Shall we try it now?"

He didn't tell her why they were here because he didn't want her to have too much pressure, otherwise her personality would be so tense that she couldn't sleep. Zhong Yan nodded, pinched her cheek, and said in such a gentle voice, "Xiao Bao, we're having our wedding today."

In her dazed state, a warm aura enveloped Zhong Yan, and through several layers of clothing, she could almost feel his heartbeat, which was faster than usual.

He leaned close to her ear and said, "It's just the two of us."
