Chapter 8. I like being taken care of by you.
Fang Jinhuan believes that marrying Zhong Yan was a decision she made that she can't have made wrong.
On the first day after New Year's Day, when the Civil Affairs Bureau reopened, they went to get their marriage certificate.
The process of getting the marriage certificate was very simple, so simple that Jin Huan was still nervous, wondering if she would do something wrong or make a mistake. She carefully filled out the form, handed it in, and was still in a daze when the two red books were already in her hands.
This is probably the most efficient government department right now.
Jin Huan flipped open this little red notebook.
The camera made people's features look very soft. Jin Huan stood next to Zhong Yan, smiling gently. The man next to her was tall and broad. When the photo was taken, his eyes curved slightly, which made him look even more gentle. The red background behind him was particularly eye-catching.
Jin Huan didn't even blink.
Well shot...so beautiful!
The rounded shadow under Mr. Zhong's eyes in the photo makes him look so inclusive, and they don't look out of place standing together.
Jin Huanguang stared at the photo, his throat moving as if swallowing a mouthful of water.
She clutched the notebook and turned to look at him.
Zhong Yan was also looking at the marriage certificate.
Compared to Jin Huan, he was much more at ease. She seemed pleasantly surprised by the photo, while Zhong Yan didn't seem to care. However, he still nodded and said gently, "It's a good photo."
“…Right?” Jin Huan laughed, glanced at it again, and then carefully put the certificate into her bag.
"Mm," Zhong Yan replied, "You took very good photos."
They're praising her...
After enjoying himself to the fullest, he realized what was happening and secretly smiled to himself.
There was a sense of magic about it, which made Jin Huan feel dizzy. Two days ago at Zhong Yan's grandfather's house, when she proposed marriage, Zhong Yan looked at her calmly for a long time. He was probably thinking about it, or he might be observing her reaction. In any case, Jin Huan was very nervous. She was afraid that Mr. Zhong would reject her.
After she waited a few minutes, Zhong Yan nodded to her.
It was probably a very serious nod.
Regarding his marriage, he had discussed it with his grandfather. His grandfather's idea was to let him get the marriage certificate first and settle things. After the New Year, he would gradually transfer the inheritance rights to him, and then prepare for the wedding together.
Zhong Yan and Jin Huan have given a serious and detailed explanation of this point.
His family situation is complicated, and if they were to hold a wedding, it would require a complicated process. It would be better to wait until they have gotten to know each other better.
That would be more suitable.
His marriage was indeed meant to serve that purpose.
In addition, Zhong Yan said from the beginning that he would not have any agreements or contracts, which meant that if they were to divorce, Jin Huan could take half of his property.
Zhong Yan frankly told her everything. Between the two of them, Jin Huan was undoubtedly the weaker one, and she needed to feel more secure.
Not to mention she's probably a sensitive girl.
Mr. Zhong's considerations were comprehensive and prudent, and every word he spoke was for her benefit. He told her that everything should be based on her wishes.
Everything revolves around her.
Even though Jin Huan didn't feel she needed special treatment, Mr. Zhong's words still made her very happy.
She really enjoyed hearing Mr. Zhong say things like "she is the center of attention."
Sitting in the car, Jin Huan couldn't resist taking it out of her bag to look at it again.
Besides being happy, she was also a little proud because she had helped Zhong Yan with the marriage.
She was happy to be able to help him.
There was no driver today; Zhong Yan drove himself. When he stopped at a red light, he noticed out of the corner of his eye that the person next to him was looking at him again and again, with the joy of receiving an award. A smile flashed in Zhong Yan's eyes; her happiness... was contagious.
The red light turned green, and the car continued forward. Jin Huan, still immersed in the joy of receiving her marriage certificate, looked at the unfamiliar road ahead, turned into an alley, and continued driving. She said, "This doesn't seem to be the way back to school."
It's 3 PM now, not lunchtime, so it's probably not time to go out for dinner.
Zhong Yan turned his head to look at her, meeting her questioning gaze, and asked, "Aren't you coming home with me?"
go home?
Should we go back to his home?
Jin Huan jumped in surprise, then quickly realized what she had said: "Oh... I'm going home."
Zhong Yan's residence is near his company. It's a villa he bought a couple of years ago and only recently moved in. Its advantage lies in its good location, close to the city center, making it convenient to go anywhere.
The car drove into the underground parking garage, and Jin Huan followed Zhong Yan upstairs. She looked around curiously, but Zhong Yan suddenly turned around, and she quickly looked away. Zhong Yan said without changing his expression, "This will be your home from now on... feel free to look around."
Zhong Yan introduced them to her as they walked.
The house has three floors: one basement level and two floors above ground. The basement level contains a garage, a home theater, and a storage room. The first floor has a living room, kitchen, dining room, and a gym area. The second floor is basically a study, bedroom, and walk-in closet.
There are two housekeepers in the house, but they only come during the day to clean or cook. Zhong Yan is not used to having other people living in the house, so the housekeepers have another place to live.
Jin Huan will be staying here permanently in the future, so she can get familiar with the place first.
“You can come into any part of the house. I have no taboos.” Fearing that the girl might worry about this, Zhong Yan first explained to her that from now on, she would be the mistress of his house, and everything here would be at her disposal.
Jin Huan strolled around the first floor and noticed that everything was very clean, so clean that there were few traces of human life. This showed that Zhong Yan had very good living habits, and perhaps he was even a little bit of a germaphobe.
Zhong Yan led her upstairs to the second floor.
To his left was his study, which was also his office. The study looked a little more human, with plants, documents, and pens on the table, and many books on the shelves, which made Jin Huan gasp at first glance.
These books must have taken many years to accumulate, and they are arranged very neatly.
“I had the housekeeper tidy up half of the walk-in closet a couple of days ago,” Zhong Yan said, pushing open the closet door. “You can slowly move your things here, and I’ll move more if there’s not enough space.”
He mainly wears suits and overcoats, which are necessary for formal occasions. In addition, he also has quite a few accessories in his closet, such as ties, lace clips, and watches.
Zhong Yan has strict requirements for clothing. He always wears a complete set of clothes on formal occasions. Considering that girls have more things, he actually left more than half of the space empty. If she still doesn't have enough, he will consider moving her things to other rooms.
A home is a place to live, and the most important thing is to live comfortably.
There was probably incense in the dressing room, a faint woody scent, very similar to Zhong Yan's smell. Jin Huan couldn't help but sniff, and as she looked around, she replied, "That's enough, absolutely enough."
Even if she were living in a dormitory now, her room at home wouldn't be big enough to store clothes like this. She doesn't buy many clothes, but she's bought a few more recently, mainly because she's going to buy them to meet Mr. Zhong.
Zhong Yan responded calmly, "That's good."
The master bedroom is right next to the walk-in closet.
The housekeeper cleaned the room thoroughly and changed the bedding. Compared to the dark colors that Zhong Yan used to prefer, this time she chose a velvet green set, a color that is not so deep but still shows gentleness.
Zhong Yan spent a long time choosing this color. His new wife didn't seem to like light colors like pink, and those colors weren't suitable for his room either. After thinking it over, he finally chose this one.
"Here are some of your personal belongings," Zhong Yan said, opening a drawer. "And some pajamas."
Jin Huan asked in surprise, "Mine?"
"Yes, these are for you," Zhong Yan said. "I bought them in advance in case you came over unexpectedly today and didn't have anything you needed."
Jin Huan didn't know what else to say. How could there be such a decent, tolerant, and considerate person as Mr. Zhong? He really considered everything for her, and there was nothing about him that she should feel uncomfortable about. There was something here that belonged to her, so that she didn't seem to be recklessly intruding into someone else's living space.
Jin Huan's lips parted slightly, a faint feeling of emotion rising in her heart. Before this emotion could fully develop, she suddenly remembered to ask, "Do I live here too?"
Zhong Yan looked at her as if it were the most natural thing in the world, his eyes crinkling as he said, "Jin Huan, I have no plans to separate for the time being."
Her name sounded especially beautiful when he pronounced it, and Jin Huan was captivated by its pleasantness. Then she realized what he meant by "separation," and she frowned, thinking that saying such a thing was still unlucky.
Zhong Yan then asked her if she had any dietary restrictions.
If there's anything you like to eat, or anything you don't like to eat, remember to tell the nanny. She's a great cook and knows how to make many different cuisines, so feel free to ask her anytime.
Jin Huan shook her head: "I have no dietary restrictions, I can eat anything."
He's a child who seems easy to raise.
A hint of approval appeared in Zhong Yan's eyes, and his cold expression softened slightly. He said, "I don't want to restrict your freedom or change your life because of marriage. That's not my intention. There's only one thing I hope you'll accept: you're much younger than me, and I'll take good care of you in the future."
Acceptance means... not rejecting his care.
Otherwise, he wouldn't be at peace with himself.
“Of course,” Jin Huan agreed, her voice gentle. “I would love to be taken care of by you.”
I like it, I really like it.
As for changes in her life, there will definitely be some changes, at least Huan thinks. Now that she has a husband, things will definitely be different from before.
She will try her best to adapt.
Zhong Yan instructed the housekeeper to prepare dinner, while Jin Huan slowly wandered around to familiarize herself with the surroundings. She moved very quietly and liked to lower her head slightly when she was not speaking, making her almost invisible. However, she was carefully observing the furnishings in the house, the placement of things, and the shape of each plant.
Jin Huan was already thinking about what she could do here and what she could do there. When she realized that the sofa here was so big that two people could lie down, some images inevitably surfaced in her mind.
Zhong Yan is jogging in the gym right now.
He has a habit of jogging for 20 minutes before bed, and a certain amount of aerobic exercise can better promote sleep and consume energy.
After getting off the treadmill, Zhong Yan poured himself some water. His breathing was a little rapid, but it quickly subsided after he drank a glass of water. A girl peeked out from the doorway, blinked, and it was clear from her eyes that she had something to say.
Zhong Yan looked over and asked in a deep voice, "What's wrong?"
After much thought, Jin Huan realized this matter must be very important. She took a deep breath before speaking softly and cautiously.
"Mr. Zhong, would you like to have some marital relations tonight?"
