Chapter 37 Don’t do this next time
When Yu Huan woke up the next day, his head was still groggy.
Looking at the bed under her, it was her bed and her room, but she couldn't remember how she got back.
She only remembered that she drank alcohol on impulse and then vomited violently. It was Meng Han who helped her into the car.
She didn't know what happened next.
It seems that Meng Han sent her back.
She got up rubbing her head and went to the bathroom to wash up. She was shocked by herself in the mirror.
Both eyes were swollen.
Although she had never drunk alcohol, she had never heard of swollen eyes as a side effect of drinking. This was obviously caused by crying too much.
Could it be that she got drunk and went crazy last night?
Oh my God, she wouldn’t get drunk and go crazy in front of Meng Han, would she?
She won't receive her resignation letter if she goes there today, right?
When she thought of this, she felt like the sky was falling.
She really liked this job. Not only did it pay enough to make her parents scold her less, but it also gave her enough freedom.
She couldn't accept losing her job now.
Thinking of this, she quickly washed up, changed her clothes, picked up her bag and was about to go out.
In the living room, she ran into Yu Ma, who had gotten up early. She called out to her, "Where are you going so early?"
She stopped and replied in a low voice: "Go to work."
Yu Ma snorted coldly, "Going to work so early? Are you going to see your boss?"
Yu Huan was puzzled as to why her mother suddenly said such a thing and looked up at her.
Yu Ma's face was filled with sarcasm. "I was wondering why others complain about working overtime, but you're always so happy every time you do it. So it's because you want to be with that man!"
"Yu Huan, you are so shameless! Do you think you can get a man like that? Forget about that and don't embarrass me in public."
After saying that, she muttered, "It would be almost the same if it were your sister."
Yu Huan probably understood something from her words. It must be that her mother saw her when Meng Han sent her back yesterday.
A single man and a single woman, drunk, anyone would think too much, and she could understand that.
But the only thing she couldn't accept was her own mother looking down on her and insulting her.
She clenched her fingers, frowned, and asked Yu Ma, "Mom, am I so unbearable in your eyes?"
Yu Ma was used to her being submissive, so she was stunned by her rebuttal.
Yu Huan didn't expect to get any nice answer from her, and she was not in the mood to argue with her. She took a deep breath and suppressed her emotions.
"Last night, I went to deliver documents to Mr. Meng and was seen by a client. Out of courtesy, I offered him a glass of wine. Mr. Meng was kind enough to walk me back. He and I are just ordinary superiors and subordinates. Please don't think your daughter is so mean."
After saying that, she opened the door and walked out.
In fact, what Yu Huan wanted to say more was, if the person sent back by Meng Han yesterday was not her, but Yu Wei who was not dead, then in her mother's eyes, would it be okay?
Yu Wei is very outstanding and she is worthy of a person like Meng Han, so it's okay.
But she is not as good as Yu Wei, and she is not worthy of a person like Meng Han. She would be mean and whimsical.
But asking such questions would only hurt herself more.
There is no need to ask, the answer is already there.
Because he left home early today, Yu Huan arrived at Meng Han's house at only 7:30.
At this time, Meng Han was working out upstairs. If he made coffee now, it would get cold soon. Yu Huan went upstairs to match her clothes for the day before going downstairs to make coffee.
When the coffee was ready, Meng Han appeared in the restaurant, wiping his hair. When he saw Yu Huan, he was stunned.
His daily schedule was very tight, and Yu Huan also strictly followed his time to carry out every step of the preparation.
Except for the first day they met in the cloakroom, they only met every morning before he got in the car. This was the first time he saw Yu Huan in a restaurant.
Yu Huan was not surprised to see Meng Han, as she knew she would meet him in the kitchen at this time.
"Mr. Meng." Nodding and greeting him.
Meng Han responded, sat down and started eating breakfast.
Yu Huan brought the coffee to his table and put it down, "Your coffee."
"Thanks."
Very concise dialogue, without a single superfluous word.
This made Yu Huan feel even more uneasy. She didn't know whether she had been drunk and crazy yesterday.
This unknown speculation made her unable to help but think of many possible things that might happen.
Seeing her standing aside, Meng Han guessed that she had something to say, so he put down his coffee and looked up at her.
"What's up?"
Yu Huan nervously rubbed his clasped hands together, "Mr. Meng... were you the one who sent me home yesterday?"
Meng Han's eyebrows moved slightly, "You don't remember?"
Yu Huan nodded and murmured, "Yeah."
Meng Han retracted his gaze and looked back at the table, the corners of his mouth slightly raised, "Then how much do you remember?"
Yu Huan stood behind him and couldn't see the expression on his face. His tone was flat and no emotion could be heard, which made her even more nervous. She honestly confessed her only remaining memories.
"I remember I drank and vomited, and you helped me get into the car. I forgot how we got back."
"Have you forgotten what happened after you got home?"
"Well, it was morning when I woke up, and I didn't even know how I got into bed."
Meng Han nodded slightly, indicating that he understood. "Last night, after helping you get into the car, I sent you downstairs to your house. Your mother happened to call, so I asked her to come downstairs to pick you up."
Yu Huan originally thought that Meng Han had sent her upstairs, which was why her mother misunderstood her. However, she didn't expect that it was her mother who came downstairs to pick her up.
"Did my mother...say anything to you?"
Meng Han thought of the way her mother looked back and forth between him and her last night, and the words she confided last night, and lowered his gaze.
"No, I'll leave you in her hands."
Yu Huan felt a little upset. Even for such a small matter, her mother could still speak so harshly to her.
But at the same time, she also breathed a sigh of relief, fortunately she did not get drunk and crazy in front of Meng Han.
It seems that these eyes are caused by drinking. Could it be that she is allergic to alcohol?
It was her first time drinking, so she didn't know either, right?
After feeling relieved, her tone was no longer so depressed, and her whole body was open. When she was secretly delighted, she heard Meng Han speak.
"Secretary Yu."
Yu Huan's heart tightened and he held back his breath.
"Yesterday's drinking..."
Yu Huan’s workplace rules are to stand at attention when being beaten and to admit mistakes actively. She admitted her mistake immediately without waiting for Meng Han to finish speaking.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Meng. I was too impulsive yesterday. I've never drunk alcohol before. I underestimated the strength of a glass of wine and overestimated my own alcohol tolerance. I won't do it again next time!"
Meng Han paused before continuing.
"I mean, you did a good job last night, and the contract signing went smoothly."
Yu Huan had already determined that he had made a mistake, but he didn't expect that not only was he not punished, he was also praised.
My heart suddenly exploded and I felt a little light-headed.
Meng Han didn't look back, but he could guess the expression of the person behind him. The breath of joy had already reached him.
Perhaps, that non-existent tail must be wagging happily now.
He picked up the coffee and uttered a word before taking a sip.
"But don't do this again next time."
