Chapter 43 Thoughtful

Chapter 43 Thoughtful

After getting off the taxi, she first went to a nearby pharmacy to buy an ice patch and then went to the restaurant to buy breakfast for Meng Han.

As long as she made preparations according to the usual time nodes, she would not meet Meng Han before getting on the bus.

By then, the marks on her face should have almost disappeared.

Everything was going according to her plan, but if the accident wasn't sudden enough, it wouldn't be considered an accident.

She had just finished matching clothes for Meng Han and bumped into Meng Han when she came out of the cloakroom.

He was wearing a bathrobe and wiping his hair with a towel. There was no surprise in his eyes when he saw Yu Huan. It was obvious that he came to see her on purpose.

"Secretary Yu, today..."

Yu Huan was frightened by him. She didn't expect Meng Han to appear suddenly, and she hadn't even taken off the ice patch on her face.

She immediately turned her head away, covered her face with her loose hair, and quickly tore off the ice pack and held it in her hand.

Meng Han stopped talking midway. He had never seen Yu Huan with her hair down before, and seeing her reaction again, it seemed like she was hiding something, which made him frown slightly.

"What’s wrong with you?"

"Nothing, it's just that you look so handsome in your bathrobe, Mr. Meng, that I'm a little afraid to look at you." She spoke in a panic, and only after she said it did she curse herself in her heart for not thinking.

These words, combined with her current reaction, are simply trying to cover up the truth.

This was also the case in Meng Han's eyes. He lowered his voice and said, "Raise your head."

If it was an inquiry, Yu Huan could still find some excuses to get around it, but he used a commanding tone.

Regardless of whether it was working hours or not, Yu Huan had no way to disobey his orders. His instructions made her obey voluntarily and uncontrollably.

She slowly raised her head, revealing her face that still had traces of scars on it.

After applying the ice for so long, it's much better now. There's less redness and swelling, and only slight marks to show what she went through.

"What's going on?" Meng Han looked at the slight marks and his tone became even colder.

Yu Huan has been with Meng Han for so long and has seen him get angry before, but he never takes it out on her and always treats her calmly and politely.

This was the first time he asked her a question in this tone and with this momentum.

Yu Huan was a little scared, not because of him as a person, but because she was afraid that he would be angry. Subconsciously, she wanted to tell him the truth and tell him everything that had happened to her.

But reason stopped her. She found it difficult to talk about the things happening in her family.

Meng Han looked at her hesitant expression, and thinking of what she said when she was drunk last time, he roughly guessed who had done this.

He had no right to interfere in other people's family affairs. Suppressing the slight discomfort in his heart, he said: "If it's really difficult, then don't say it."

Yu Huan lowered her head, feeling somewhat grateful that he hadn't pressed her any further and given her some dignity, but also somewhat disappointed.

She actually wanted to tell him and wanted to know how he would react when he found out what had happened to her.

Will you comfort her? Will you pat her head to comfort her? Will you caress her wounds to soothe her?

She knew that this was impossible, these were just her own imaginations, Meng Han would never do such a thing.

She cleared her mind of all the distracting thoughts and quickly returned to work.

"Boss Meng, is there something you want to talk to me about?"

She looked up at Meng Han with her usual smile on her face, and the dimple on her right cheek was clearly visible.

It was as if nothing had happened and she was just the always cheerful and smiling Secretary Yu.

Meng Han didn't hate her smile. One of the reasons he chose her was because she was good-looking.

But now this smile was a little dazzling in his eyes.

"It's nothing. You don't have to go to the company in the morning. I'll give you half a day off." After saying that, he walked past Yu Huan and entered the cloakroom.

"No, I can go to work." Yu Huan turned his head and wanted to refuse.

Meng Han stopped and turned to look at him. The slightly wet ends of her hair blocked his eyebrows, making his expression more imposing than usual, which made her not allow him to disobey.

"obedient."

With just these two short words, Yu Huan's heart seemed to be suddenly grasped, and then suddenly loosened. Blood rushed out at this moment, causing her brain to temporarily lose the ability to think.

When she came to her senses, the man had already entered the cloakroom.

She raised her hand to cover her chest. Her heart had not yet calmed down, beating rapidly and violently, one after another, all in reaction to those two words.

My body turned around and went downstairs uncontrollably according to his instructions. It was not until I walked out the door and was blown by the cold winter wind that my mind began to clear up.

After waking up, what came over her was shame and excitement. Her face turned red, but it actually covered up the mark left by the slap.

"Secretary Yu, please get in the car and wait. It's windy outside, don't catch a cold." Secretary He lowered the car window and asked Yu Huan to get in.

Yu Huan patted his red and hot face and shook his head, "It's okay, I'm a little hot, let me blow on it."

Master He was puzzled. "Hot? In this weather?"

Yu Huan recited the Heart Clearing Mantra several times before the blush on her face disappeared before Meng Han came out.

Meng Han didn't say anything when he saw she didn't leave. He just said to Master He after getting in the car, "Stop at the pedestrian street near the company."

Master He asked him, "Do you need to buy anything?"

"Secretary Yu will get off there."

Yu Huan's heart moved again. Although she had no problem anymore, Meng Han's words made her dare not disobey, and she could only accept his arrangement.

And now she didn't dare to look him in the eye.

Master He didn't ask any more questions and started the car and drove towards the company.

Twenty minutes later, the car stopped at the entrance of the pedestrian street. Master He signaled to Yu Huan, "Secretary Yu, we're here."

Yu Huan unbuckled his seat belt and got out of the car.

After closing the car door, she stood there and watched the car leave.

At this time, the window of the car behind was rolled down, and Meng Han looked over from the car.

Yu Huan guessed that he had something to say, and couldn't help but start thinking about it.

What would he say?

Should I let her have a good rest? Or should I let her adjust herself before going back to work?

"Secretary Yu."

Yu Huan stared at him with unconcealable anticipation in his eyes, like a puppy waiting to be fed.

Meng Han was originally in a low mood, but suddenly he felt relieved.

"Your outfit is well put together today. Have a good rest and I'll see you this afternoon."

Having said that, he withdrew his gaze, and the car window slowly rose, separating the two of them and hiding the corners of his slightly raised lips in the dark car window.

Yu Huan watched the car drive away, the smile on his face never faded.

She didn't expect that what she would receive was Meng Han's praise.

Although she would be happy no matter what he said as long as he didn't blame her, praising her would make her happier.

It was an unprecedented sense of satisfaction, a power that could pull her out of the mud, that could help her see the sun, and that could make her so happy that her eyes would turn red.

I was so happy that even my heart was warming.
