Chapter 87: Winning Over

Chapter 87: Winning Over

In one afternoon, Meng Han received bills for driving school, swimming training class, baking training class, and other skill training classes.

Finally, when he received the bill for an English training class, he laughed out loud at the dinner table.

This attracted the attention of several people who were close to him.

"Brother, what is that thing that makes you laugh so happily?" Meng Chunsheng came over to take a look.

Meng Han put away his phone and hid the smile on his face. "Nothing, let's eat."

"Tsk, so mysterious." Meng Chunsheng muttered and sat back.

Meng Han picked up the chopsticks and was about to pick up some food when his eyes met Meng Tan, who was sitting opposite him. Meng Tan was looking at him with a smile and a curious look in his eyes.

Meng Han withdrew his gaze, picked up a piece of yam and put it into the bowl.

"By the way, Xiaohan, Third Uncle wants to discuss something with you." Meng Yunhe suddenly spoke.

Everyone at the table looked at him. He faced Meng Han with a kind smile on his face.

"Xiao Tan has been following me for a while now, but as you know, times have changed. Young people have different perspectives than our older generation, and it's easy for disagreements to arise. So, I thought I'd let Xiao Tan go to your place and learn from you for a while."

The first to voice his dissatisfaction was Meng Chunsheng. "No, didn't he say last year that he could rise to management anywhere? What? He can't do it anymore? My brother isn't a garbage collector."

"Chunsheng." Meng Han glanced at him and warned him.

Meng Chunsheng groaned and shut up in frustration.

Meng Yunhe's expression also turned cold. "Chunsheng, you are Xiaotan's brother after all. Your words are too harsh. How can you say that to your brother?"

"Haha, Brother Chunsheng was just joking with me. We often joke like this with each other, and we are used to it." Meng Tan said with a smile, explaining for Meng Chunsheng.

But the look he gave Meng Chunsheng was filled with contempt.

Meng Han took in his expression, retracted his gaze, and spoke calmly, "Third Uncle is right, but the subsidiary's promotion system is strict. If Xiao Tan wants to join, he must strictly follow the employee promotion process."

Meng Yunhe chuckled, "Of course Third Uncle knows that there's no order without rules. Xiao Tan also said that he doesn't need to start from a management position. He can just be the team leader of the marketing department."

Meng Han curled his lips slightly, "Uncle San, you misunderstood. The process I mentioned starts with submitting a resume. What position he can apply for depends on his personal ability."

"Xiao Han, you..." Meng Yunhe was furious, but was interrupted by Meng Qin, "Xiao Han is right. When Xiao Tan joined the headquarters, it was already an exception, but this exception can't be broken forever."

"Meng Qin! What does this have to do with you? I didn't look for you."

"Uncle San, this is a company matter, and it concerns everyone here."

Several families were arguing with each other, but Meng Han pretended not to hear and ate his meal quietly.

The argument on the table finally stopped after Mr. Meng's scolding. Mr. Meng glanced at Meng Han, then looked away. "In recent years, the subsidiary's performance has been the best of all the companies. This proves that Xiaohan's decision is correct. Let's do as Xiaohan says."

His words seemed to be on Meng Han's side, but in fact they pushed Meng Han into the spotlight, making him a thorn in everyone's side.

Meng Han sneered inwardly, the most scheming person at the table was still this elderly man.

He enjoyed the feeling of being in power and let his descendants fight for power and wealth.

But he couldn't bear to let them fight too hard, so he pulled him in, who had never been in the position of heir, and made him their new target.

Old Master Meng wants the first and third wives to step on him to get to the top.

If the first and third wives want to win this power game, they must either win him over or get rid of him.

If he wants to survive, he has to get rid of everyone at the table.

Putting down his chopsticks, Meng Han looked up at Meng Tan and said, "If you want to come, please let me know in advance. I can help you with submitting your resume."

Meng Tan didn't expect that Mr. Meng didn't speak for him this time. He thought that joining the subsidiary was a sure thing. After all, Meng Han would never disobey Mr. Meng's orders.

He went to the subsidiary company to win over Meng Han. Although he was the most favored by Mr. Meng, the eldest wife was the one who held the most power. If he wanted to defeat the eldest wife, he could only pull Meng Han in.

But when it came to starting with the interview, he was unwilling to do so.

If Meng Han did something to get him eliminated, he would probably be laughed at by Meng Chunsheng for a whole year.

It seems that if I want to get close to Meng Han, I have to think of another way.

After dinner, several elders wanted to stay and accompany the old man. Meng Han didn't plan to stay long and started walking towards the parking lot.

"Brother Han!" Meng Tan called Meng Han in the parking lot.

Meng Han stopped and looked at him, "What's the matter?"

Meng Tan smiled and moved closer, "If I go to your company to look for you, I don't have to go through the formalities, right?"

"Official matters must follow procedures. If it's a personal matter, you can speak up now."

Meng Tan pursed his lips, looked back, and pushed Meng Han, "Get in the car and talk."

After the two of them got into Meng Han's car, Meng Tan spoke up, "Brother, how about we work together?"

Meng Han's expression was indifferent. "I said, let's follow the official procedures."

Meng Tan leaned closer to him and said, "Brother, do you know what kind of cooperation I'm talking about? Do you really want to stay in a subsidiary company as a general manager for the rest of your life?"

"I know you're not someone who's willing to be relegated to a subsidiary company, but you've seen the current situation. Your uncle's family holds immense power. It's completely impossible for you to gain more power from them."

Meng Han glanced at him, "So?"

"So..." Meng Tan stared at him, "our two families will stand together and sideline your uncle's family. Then, your family will take your uncle's place."

"That's a good point, but..." Meng Han looked at him, "It seems that this won't bring any benefits to your family."

Meng Tan chuckled, "Brother, in your eyes, do you think I'm only doing this for profit? Speaking of which, my uncle's family was born to my grandfather's first wife, so they're still a little distant from you and me. We're the real brothers, aren't we? How can I watch his family take what's rightfully yours?"

"In our generation, brother, you are the one who deserves to sit in that position."

Meng Han raised his eyebrows slightly, with a questioning look in his eyes, "Are you willing to let me sit in that position? Does Third Uncle know about this?"

Meng Tan held his head in his hands, looking carefree. "Why wouldn't I accept this? I just don't like to live a life that's too tiring. As long as I have money to spend, that's enough. I'm not interested in anything else. As for my dad, you don't have to worry about him. He's old and will retire sooner or later."

Meng Han pondered for a moment and said, "I'll think about it."

Seeing him give in, Meng Tan grinned, "Then I'll wait for your good news, brother." As he spoke, he glanced at Meng Han's face, "Were you texting with your girlfriend just now? Then I won't bother you. Bye."

Watching Meng Tan get out of the car and walk away, Meng Han's expression turned cold and he sneered sarcastically.

"Innocent."
