Chapter 97 Please Respect Yourself

Chapter 97 Please Respect Yourself

During lunch break, Yu Huan made an appointment with his colleagues to have lunch at a newly opened restaurant downstairs.

After dinner, her colleague wanted to go shopping, so she went back to the office alone. All the elevators in the lobby were going upstairs, with only one coming up from the underground garage.

She decisively stood in front of the elevator and pressed the up button.

The moment the elevator opened and she saw the face inside, she immediately regretted why she had to go back to the company so early.

The man was also stunned when he saw her. After glancing at her for a few times, he smiled and said, "Secretary Yu, you look so beautiful today. Do you have a date?"

They had already bumped into each other face to face, so it was unrealistic to pretend not to see it. Yu Huan could only bite the bullet and walk into the elevator.

"Mr. Meng is here to see Mr. Meng again?"

After Yu Huan entered the elevator, he stood against the wall, as if he was afraid of being bumped into.

Meng Tan looked at him with amusement and took a step forward deliberately, "Secretary Yu hasn't answered my question yet."

Who are you? Why should I answer you?

Yu Huan rolled his eyes in his heart, but still kept a smile on his face.

"Yes, I have an appointment today."

"Boy friend?"

Yu Huan nodded, "Yes, with my boyfriend."

"Tsk." Meng Tan stepped back. "So Secretary Yu has a boyfriend. What a pity."

Yu Huan was too lazy to answer his question and could only give a dry laugh and pass it off.

After that, there was no more communication between the two, and Yu Huan finally breathed a sigh of relief.

When the elevator reached the floor, Meng Tan was the first to get out and went straight into the company to Meng Han's office.

Yu Huan lingered, watching his slowly receding figure, wondering why he had been visiting Meng Han so frequently recently.

Is this person here to cause trouble?

Meng Tan had just walked past the lounge door when he heard a sound coming from inside.

"Do you think Secretary Yu is in love? She suddenly started dressing up."

"No, I asked this morning, and she doesn't have a partner."

"If someone who never dresses up suddenly starts to dress up...even if they're not in a relationship, they probably have someone they like."

"It's possible."

Meng Tan stopped and turned to look at Yu Huan who was walking slowly towards him from behind. Their eyes met and he smiled at her.

Yu Huan felt his scalp tingling because of his inexplicable laughter. He always felt that this person was up to something.

Sure enough, when Yu Huan walked to her workstation, the person who originally came to find Meng Han did not go in, but sat at her workstation.

No matter how patient Yu Huan was, he was a little unhappy now.

"Why are you sitting in my seat?"

Meng Tan made a hurt expression, "Secretary Yu, you actually lied to me, do you hate me that much?"

Yu Huan had no idea that his lie had been exposed, and looked puzzled, "What did you mean by lying?"

Meng Tan stood up. He was about the same height as Meng Han and a bit taller than Yu Huan. He put his hands on her workstation and leaned closer to her.

"Didn't you say you already have a boyfriend?"

He came too close all of a sudden, catching Yu Huan off guard and causing her to shrink back in fear.

"Be careful." He grabbed her arm to steady her, a look of frustration on his face. "Am I that scary?"

Yu Huan subconsciously wanted to shake off his hand. She was frightened but not unable to stand steadily, so she didn't need his support at all.

As soon as he raised his hand, the office door was opened and Meng Han's figure appeared in front of the door.

Yu Huan looked at Meng Han. His brows were serious. Although there was no expression on his face and he didn't even glance at her, Yu Huan knew that he was angry.

Yu Huan shook off Meng Tan's hand and said in a deep voice, "Mr. Meng, please respect yourself!"

Meng Tan raised his hands, looking confused, "What did I do to deserve respect?"

Yu Huan buried his head and ignored him, turned around and left his workstation and walked towards the bathroom.

"Hey! Explain yourself clearly first! Don't act like I did anything to you!" Meng Tan reached out to pull her.

"Meng Tan!" Meng Han spoke.

Meng Tan withdrew his hand and turned to look at Meng Han. He looked at him with an unclear expression, turned around and went into the office.

"Come in."

Meng Tan clicked his tongue and followed him into the office.

As soon as he entered the office, he defended himself, "Don't listen to your secretary. I didn't do anything. She lost her balance and I helped her up out of kindness."

Meng Han stood in front of the window with his back to him. He turned his head to look at him when he heard that, his eyes still as cold as usual.

But it made Meng Tan feel as if he saw Meng Han that day, which made him inexplicably scared.

"Don't think about her."

Meng Tan pondered this, his eyes lit up with interest, "Didn't you say that you two were just secretaries?"

Meng Han turned around and looked at him, with some impatience in his eyes. "Don't do those dirty things in my territory. I don't have the time to clean up your mess."

This statement was flawless, which was also Meng Han's style, making Meng Tan not so sure about his previous guess.

He tutted, a little bored, "I'm not Meng Chunsheng, I don't need you to clean my ass for me."

"If you want to play, find someone else, don't find someone from my company, otherwise..." This sentence is full of warning.

Meng Tan raised his hand and said, "Okay, okay, I wasn't interested in her anyway, I just wanted to tease her."

Meng Han glanced at him, then retracted his gaze and walked towards the desk, "What's going on over there, big brother?"

Getting down to business, Meng Tan dropped his playful expression and said seriously, "Just as you said, the project he advocated for investment last year suffered losses. This year, in order to make up for it, he is trying his best to seize the northern market. I heard that he even met with the CEO of Mingcheng Group yesterday. It seems that he really wants to use Meng Yushu to form a marriage with Mingcheng."

"But..." He sat down at his desk, his face smiling again. "This son of the Mingcheng boss is no pushover. With Meng Yushu's temper, she would definitely not agree to this marriage if she knew. As her uncle, do we have an obligation to tell her?"

"No need." Meng Han said calmly, "Not only must this marriage be concluded, but it must also be concluded with great fanfare."

Meng Tan probably didn't expect Meng Han to refuse. After a moment of hesitation, he smiled and said, "It seems that I really don't understand you at all. I thought that as your uncle, you would at least care for your niece."

Meng Han lowered his eyes, "Aren't you also her uncle? If you are willing to give up what you are doing now, I can also cherish her."

Meng Tan chuckled, "Then brother, you should still cherish me. Compared to this niece who is a generation apart, I am still closer to you as your younger brother, right?"

Meng Han took out a USB drive from the drawer and threw it to him, "Okay, get out."

Meng Tan took the USB drive, tossed it in his hand, and stood up. "Okay, then I won't bother you anymore. I'm leaving."

Only after everyone left the office did Meng Han look up at the door.

I snorted in my heart.

Uncle? Who among the Meng family has ever cared about family affection?

He never did, and neither did anyone else.

Suddenly feeling a little tired, he took off his glasses and threw them on the table, his eyes falling on the intercom phone on the table.
