Author's Closing Remarks
The series is complete! Hooray!
From April 2024 to November 2025, spanning 19 months, "Leading Humanity by a Thousand Years" (also known as "Landing 500 Years Ahead of Schedule, I Became a God by Treasure Hunting") has finally come to an end!
This is probably the longest book that Eternal Ass has ever written.
It also has the most words. Although it can't compare to those old books with ten million words, it is still a breakthrough and can hardly be called "short".
3.13 million words, that's not short at all!!
As for the book's overall quality, I'm quite satisfied.
I've filled in most of the plot holes, and the history of the nine eras is pretty much explained. I also think the setting of demons and monsters is okay.
As for the various civilizations... they're so-so. The earlier civilizations had some distinctiveness, but as people learned more later on, they became more stereotypical. Anyway, they're above average.
Some minor plot holes, such as "Where did the Conch Mother go?", are not related to the main storyline and will be left aside for now. They can be filled in if I write a side story.
The ending was a happy ending, which was rather mediocre, but it met the expectations of most readers. There was no need for the protagonist to sacrifice himself or anything like that. It's not a classic novel, so it's fine as it is now.
Some readers might say that not writing about the Chaos Sea would result in a bad ending, but I strongly disagree with that.
It's good that it stopped here. The story could certainly continue, but wouldn't it be better to leave some room for imagination?
The Ocean of Chaos has nothing to do with the Cataclysmic Disaster; it's a separate story, and there's really no need to continue writing about it.
Let me summarize my experience again.
The overall structure of this book is more complete than that of the previous book, "I Grind My Attributes on a Desert Island," which integrates personal development with civilization development, maintaining a long-lasting sense of anticipation.
The follow-up reading rate isn't high, but it's still relatively stable.
After returning to Earth, I lost interest in the previous book, and my reading pace kept declining, which led to me hastily finishing it after writing just over two million words.
The book falls short of "Desert Island" in that, while dealing with the same subject matter, it lacks a touch of inspiration and feels more like a craftsman's work.
Some readers who read the first few chapters said that this book is exactly the same as the previous one.
Actually, things will be very different very quickly.
Of course, I don't need to argue; it's true that it lacks a bit of spirit, and that has to be admitted.
I felt it myself; towards the end, I really lacked motivation, felt mentally exhausted, and my update speed dropped. I've never felt so tired in my writing career.
In addition, the transition from personal travel to the development of civilization resulted in the loss of many readers. Many people believed that the development of civilization was a burden and a hindrance, which was inevitable. It was equivalent to changing the subject matter midway. We must learn from this lesson and not repeat it.
The current average subscription is 22,500, and it may increase by a few thousand after it is completed, but the final result should not be as good as the previous book.
However, I'm quite satisfied. Considering the numerous mistakes, achieving this result wouldn't have been possible without everyone's support. An average of over 20,000 subscriptions is decent, not the best, but not the worst either. While it didn't break into the monthly ticket rankings, it's still a considerable achievement.
So I need to plan my next book carefully. I've run out of ideas and need to start fresh. Inspiration also takes time to develop, so I definitely won't start a new book until after the Chinese New Year.
I hope everyone will still remember me, the Eternal Donkey, pulling the millstone, and give me some support (the author's name is: Final Eternity).
Finally, thank you all for your support over the past two years! Thank you!
