Chapter 96 Four Seasons Assault Team

Chapter 96 Four Seasons Assault Team

The camera turned and a tent in a trench nearby was opened.

Three new recruits walked out one after another.

The first one was a tall blond boy with a wandering look in his eyes, and his helmet was crooked.

The second one was a short man with dark skin, gritting his teeth and not saying a word, holding a submachine gun tightly in his hand.

The third one was a man who looked older than the others, with a calm expression and steady steps.

The system prompt pops up:

You have gained three team members.

Zhu Hao's eyes lit up, and he immediately checked the information of the three people.

[Member 1: Kevin Berry]

Type: Assault

Characteristics: impulsive, easily emotional

Specialties: Charge, melee, blasting

[Member 2: Norm O'Neal]

Type: Firepower

Characteristics: Talkative, distrustful of superiors

[Member 3: Harold Vinson]

Characteristics: Calm and analytical

Specialties: Tactical marking, intelligence analysis, navigation correction

There were too many elements in the content and Zhu Hao was a little confused for a moment.

But this is not important. Zhu Hao was a little excited. While calling up the formation panel, he said excitedly:

"Brothers! This is the real one-man squad system!"

"It's just that the names of these people are a little hard to remember!"

"I'll rename them first."

Zhu Hao quickly clicked a few times and changed the names of the three people to:

Spring, summer, autumn.

"From now on, you will lead these three men and carry out the first squadron's flanking mission."

At the end of the trench, the officer stood on the muddy ground, wearing a raincoat, his face covered with mud and gunpowder ash.

He looked at Zhu Hao for a few seconds, then glanced at the three new recruits standing upright behind him.

The voice was not loud, but it revealed the oppressive feeling of a superior:

"The enemy's supply line is in a village two kilometers away. Last night, the scouts brought back intelligence saying that a batch of food and ammunition trucks would be sent to the front line every day."

"Your mission is to cooperate with the squadron to destroy this supply line."

"Destroy the warehouse, kill the defenders, and leave no one alive."

After the officer finished speaking, his eyes fell on Zhu Hao.

"Don't think you'll all come back alive."

"You're just a newly promoted corporal, not a miracle-working machine."

Zhu Hao didn't reply, but just saluted.

The live broadcast room barrage scrolled instantly:

"Fuck, this mission is obviously advanced!"

"The anchor just got promoted to corporal, and now he's being sent to cut off logistics."

"Why do I feel like... a lot of people are going to die in this wave."

Zhu Hao didn't say anything.

"Go around this way and avoid the main force's advance route."

Using the path he had already explored, he quickly marked a small mountain path on the map that deviated from the main battlefield.

Not following the beaten path is the basis for Zhu Hao's success!

"Let's go this way."

"Spring, you go ahead and scout."

"In the summer, behind the machine gun, stay alert"

"Autumn, you are responsible for marking the terrain and enemy situation."

"Yes, Corporal!"

The three responded, their voices were not loud, but very firm.

The logistics mission begins here.

This journey took several minutes.

There were no system prompts or battle music along the way, only the patter of footsteps in the mud and the whimper of the wind through the broken treetops.

This feels like you've been reading a transition chapter for days, but it just keeps dragging on and on without giving you the climax!

Fortunately, Zhu Hao was patient enough.

Sudden,

"Report! There's a noise!"

"Eleven o'clock direction!"

Chuntian immediately lay down, signaling the others to keep a low profile, and immediately warned Zhu Hao's character,

Zhu Hao squatted down to check.

Sure enough, a group of enemy troops were escorting a supply wagon, slowly crossing the mountain road.

There weren't many people, about seven or eight, and two double-axle carriages.

Zhu Hao held his breath and his eyes moved quickly among the enemies.

Two carriages slowly rolled over the muddy road, their wheels creaking.

Zhu Hao made an attack gesture, Chuntian quietly moved to the flank, and Xiatian crouched behind a dead tree and set up a machine gun.

"Three, two, one, move on."

Zhu Hao pulled the trigger first, and a bullet pierced the chest of the enemy soldier in the front, instantly breaking the silence of the forest.

Machine guns roared and fire exploded in the darkness.

The enemy had no time to react and was beaten so badly that they couldn't even raise their heads.

"Keep pushing forward!"

Zhu Hao led his men up the mountain path, but just as he took a step, a gunshot rang out from the dense forest.

“Bang!”

Chuntian fell down, his throat pierced by a cold bullet, and blood gushed out like a fountain.

"spring!"

Zhu Hao turned the screen and saw an enemy sentry wearing a cloak running away deep in the woods.

"We've been discovered! There's a secret sentry!"

Autumn reacted quickly, issued a warning,

"The other party has fired a flare!"

Bang!

A red beam of light streaked across the sky, like a bloody line tearing through a battlefield.

"Retreat! Quick!"

Zhu Hao immediately issued an order,

But it was too late.

Bullets and shells came from afar, like the whip of death, sweeping over in waves.

The bullet belt on Xia Tian's back was empty. Just as he was about to reload, he was hit in the chest and flew backwards.

"Bang!"

A grenade exploded on the ground in front of them, and Zhu Hao was blown away by the shock wave.

The whole world suddenly became quiet.

His ears were buzzing, and all he could see was flying dirt and distorted light.

The screen went black.

You've been killed

[Mission failed: enemy supplies not destroyed]

[All members of your team were killed]

[Your influence on the battlefield has been cleared]

The screen went completely dark, and the next second, a line of white words slowly appeared:

[Time is rewinding...]

The next moment,

The screen lit up again.

The character suddenly opened his eyes, and the familiar sounds of rain, mud, and wind filled his ears again.

The trench in front of me reappeared in my sight, and the dilapidated tent had not yet been opened.

The rainwater at my feet had not yet formed a puddle.

Three familiar figures walked out again.

Several people looked at him with complicated expressions.

The officer's voice sounded again, word for word, exactly the same as before.

Everything started according to the script again.

The sound of rain, mud, broken branches and leaves, and cold wind.

The system prompt in front of Zhu Hao popped up again, and the task was still the same.

In the woods.

The wind is stronger than before.

The branches and leaves were shaking more frequently than in the past, and there seemed to be a faint smell of burning in the air.

Zhu Hao crouched on the ground, looking far ahead through the telescope.

The carriage team appeared again.

Two double-axle carriages and six guards.

But something is different.

"The guard's formation...has changed."

Zhu Hao murmured.

The guards were scattered before, but now, three of them have pressed forward to defend the side.

They were vaguely deployed in a semi-encircled formation, and even began to patrol at fixed points.

What's even more bizarre is that the patrol route ahead has also expanded a lot.

The escorting soldiers even walked out of the road area and left secret sentries at the edge of the woods.

It’s as if it was prepared in advance!

Zhu Hao studied it for a while.

He decisively issued an order, this time taking a detour from a further back path, trying to ambush at the end of the mountain road and use the terrain to block the carriage.

This section of the trail is steeper, with a mixture of rocks and dirt, and it's slower to walk!

As they were slowly circling, a familiar voice came from the distance.

“Da da da da…!”

Gunshots suddenly rang out.

Zhu Hao suddenly turned around.

A red warning pops up in the upper right corner of the screen:

[The main force of the squadron has engaged the enemy head-on]

[Supply wagons are retreating at an accelerated pace]

"What!"

Zhu Hao exclaimed,

"They're retreating!"

"How can we retreat?"

[Mission Update: Prevent the Carriage from Escape from the Battlefield]

He immediately led the team to sprint faster, through the bushes, sliding over the slippery rock walls, and rushing all the way to the end of the main road.

In the distance, two carriages had turned around and the escorting soldiers were forcing their way through.

"We can't let them go!"

He and his squad had barely escaped the bushes when they were driven back head-on by a barrage of machine-gun fire.

Dense bullets fell on the ground like a rainstorm, causing tree bark to fly and soil to roll.

Xia Tian tried to suppress the attack but was hit in the shoulder by a bullet and fell to the ground.

Zhu Hao stood up and was about to treat Xia Tian.

Then a bullet pierced his chest.

"Bang!"

The screen turns red.

Before he fell to the ground, he only saw the carriage going away in the smoke.

The familiar enemy cloaked sniper stood at the top of the slope, looking at him.

You've been killed

[Your influence on the battlefield has been cleared]

[Time is rewinding...]
