Duanmu Ci, courtesy name Zigong, a native of the State of Wei in the late Spring and Autumn period, was a highly esteemed disciple of Confucius, who has lived for two thousand years.

He once campaigned with the First Emperor, and once got drunk with Yuanming. He once listened to Ji Kang's zither, and once befriended Taibai. Xie Daoyun and Yang Guifei, a fateful encounter under the flowers; Liu Bian and Su Dongpo, all guests at my door.
