Chapter 44: Vickers

My name is Vickers, and I am the youngest son of Viscount Valan.

But unfortunately, my mother was a maid, and my tragedy began from the moment I was born.

Because of long-term malnutrition, I became thin and yellow, and my height was relatively short among my peers.

As for why you ask why I, as a descendant of a noble family, would be treated like this?

Then you are really a little naive. It is a very remarkable thing that a child born by a maid can stay with this nobleman.

"Vickers, tell me why your mother gave birth to you? It's really ridiculous.

I'll give you a chance. If you just bark like a dog and crawl under my crotch, we'll let you go!"

Vickers did as the man said. He had no right to resist. After all, he might not even be a human being here.

Vickers lived in the mansion for an unknown amount of time.

Although he still lived a life of humiliation, beating, ridicule and laughter every day.

But Vickers found these things acceptable. After all, he and his mother were still alive and living well.

Vickers' favorite thing is reading. He likes the wonderful feeling of gaining knowledge from books, and the Viscount's mansion has quite a few books, so this is actually very good for Vickers.

However, the will of the world seemed to be deliberately targeting Vickers, once again wiping out all of Vickers' hopes.

"Hey, hey, hey! The little bastard has learned to read?"

Vickers wanted to get his book back, but he was malnourished at the time.

So poor Vickers had no way of getting back what was his.

After the noise died down, Vickers knelt there quietly, his hands full of books that had been torn into pieces.

Weeks wants to reassemble the books, but it all seems as absurd as reality.

At the end of the same year, Vickers' mother died of poisoning. As for why his mother died of poisoning, it was said that she secretly ate something unclean while working, which led to her accidental death by poisoning.

Then, Vickers' mother's body was taken away and burned in such a ridiculous and hasty manner.

Vickers could only watch all this quietly, he was powerless to do anything.

Soon after Vickers became an adult, his family arranged for him to go out and gain experience for three to five years before coming back. Vickers could only accept all this silently.

Just like that, Vickers, without any belongings, was kicked out of the house and walked outside at a loss.

At this time, Vickers could still hear the faint sounds of a party coming from his own mansion.

Of course, that was no longer his home.

Vickers could only keep walking aimlessly, he could only keep walking.

Soon, Vickers, who had been wandering aimlessly, came to a deep mountain. He himself didn't know how he got there.

The forest was very cold at night, but no matter how cold it was, it was not as cold as Vickers' heart.

“So hungry…”

This was the first time that Vickers expressed his needs. Without food or water, he was alone in the jungle, looking extremely miserable.

{Come here! Come here! Come here!}

Suddenly a voice kept guiding Vickers in a certain direction.

Vickers followed the sound and moved towards it in a daze, just like when he came to this forest.

Soon, a "ah" sound was heard, and Vickers fell into a big pit with a gurgling sound.

One of Vickers' legs was broken on the spot, but he could only grit his teeth and get up.

Vickers surveyed his surroundings.

The space here is very large, and for some reason some places seem to be deliberately placed with some luminous plants.

{Here! Come! Here!}

That strange sound suddenly sounded again, and Vickers looked around hurriedly.

He couldn't see the owner of the voice at all.

But for some reason, Vickers still trusted this strange voice very much.

In this way, Vickers dragged his broken leg forward, and at this time, something covered with green vines appeared in front of Vickers.

Vickers walked forward curiously and pulled away the vines, wanting to find out what it was.

After the vines were pulled apart, a white metal shell appeared in front of Vickers, something he had never seen before.

However, the more Vickers looked at it, the more he felt that this thing seemed to be a special creation created by dwarves or goblins.

Snap! Crunch!

Suddenly, a loud noise was heard, and the strange white object seemed to be opened on the side.

Looking at the opened crack, for some reason Vickers went in without any hesitation. It was really dark inside. Although it was not so dark that you couldn't see your hand in front of you, it was still quite scary.

Vickers looked around and soon found a notebook and a folder.

These things were unexpectedly well preserved and looked like new, especially the folder. Vickers walked over curiously, picked up the notebook and started flipping through it.

Vickers frowned as he looked at the contents of the notebook.

The materials compiled here are not written in the common language of the mainland, but in a language that has never been seen before.

Vickers shook his head, put down the notebook, and turned around to leave.
