Chapter 157 Melissa's Invitation
After the three of them took turns resting for an hour and removing the influence of the Holy Symbol of the Sun from them, they set out on their return journey.
It took about three hours to get back to Tingen from the town of Morse. When the carriage stopped downstairs of No. 34 Zouteland Street, it was already seven o'clock in the evening.
Along the way, even while driving, Leonard repeatedly looked at 3-0782, the "Mutated Holy Symbol of the Sun", in his hand with a puzzled look, trying to find out what was wrong with it. However, he did not get the answer until the sealed object was returned to Chanis Gate.
After returning to the second floor from the basement, Angel was stopped by Klein. Klein looked at the spiral staircase leading underground and said before Leonard caught up:
"Let's continue searching for the 'Red Chimney' tomorrow, shall we? We've already been delayed for several days and are already behind schedule."
After this almost outing mission, he seemed to no longer be obsessed with Old Neil's death?
Angel nodded and asked, "Or every afternoon?"
"Yes, I've already informed the captain. Leonard and I will search for clues about Lanevus this morning, so the search for the 'Red Chimney' will have to be in the afternoon."
Since Klein divined after the last raid on Ms. D's base that the fraudster Lanevus was connected to the Aurora Society, this criminal who had embezzled tens of thousands of pounds had become a suspect in an extraordinary incident, and the Nighthawks could now intervene.
In their previous investigation, they had discovered some clues and were taking turns monitoring a mental hospital. It was said that a patient had had a lot of contact with Lanevus before he went crazy.
Since she hadn't participated in the mission, Angel wasn't familiar with the details. She was more concerned with the "Red Chimney" report she'd purchased for 30 pounds. After more than two weeks of searching, the two had largely ruled out buildings within Tingen City, and their next step was to explore the suburbs of Tingen.
After making an appointment with Klein, Angel left Blackthorn Security Company. For her, who was not on duty at Chanis Gate today, it was considered "late" to get off work now.
Fortunately, no one is waiting for me at home...
Angel smiled bitterly and hailed a hired carriage. She did not return to Daffodil Street immediately, but first took a ride to the Dragon Bar in the dock area. She bought a lot of materials for making special ammunition in the underground market, almost spending all the cash she had.
Then she returned to Narcissus Street carrying the wooden box.

"Mr. Benson?"
After getting off the hired carriage, Angel was about to go home when he saw a man jumping off the public carriage next to him. He was wearing a vest and shirt, holding a briefcase in one hand and holding his taken-off coat in the other. His hairline was receding and his face was tired.
Hearing someone calling him, Benson looked over curiously and found that it was his brother Klein's female colleague.
"Good evening, Miss Granger," he said, pursing his lips as he looked at the hired carriage that was about to leave. "More and more companies are not letting their employees leave on time."
"Fortunately, the salary is generous enough, so I can only endure such trivial matters."
Angel replied with a smile, and the two walked side by side across the street and stopped at 2 Daffodil Street, in front of the Moretti family's house.
"And I have to clarify, I actually got off work at 7 o'clock today. The reason I came back so late is because..." She lifted the wooden box in her hand, "I went to the dock area to buy some things."
Benson nodded in understanding. "I just got back from the docks, too. These things should have been finished by 5 p.m., but our inefficient boss..."
"Klein...Benson?"
Benson's complaints to his boss were interrupted by a clear shout. A young face flashed by the oriel window facing the street, and then the door of the Moretti family's house opened and Melissa stuck her head out.
"I thought it was Klein who came back."
"You are too partial, sister."
Leaning closer to the door so that he was covered by the light overflowing from the room, Benson spoke in a feigned dissatisfaction.
"That's because working overtime has become the norm for you. Coming home late doesn't surprise me. If I saw you staying home after school one day, I would suspect that you were unemployed."
Melissa said bluntly.
Angel smiled with some envy as he watched the brother and sister bickering back and forth.
"Miss Angel, I happened to meet you today. I was planning to ask you about this," Melissa said after chatting with Benson for a while. "We're planning to hire a maid for odd jobs, preferably one who's good at cooking. Do you have any recommendations?"
A maid who does odd jobs and also needs to be good at cooking?
Angel almost blurted out the suggestion that she hire a maid and a cook separately, but then he thought again, with the Klein family's income, it would be unlikely for them to hire both at the same time, so they could only choose one with "multi-talents".
By the way, Tromi seemed to have said that he could cook some simple dishes...
She thought of Tromi, the maid who helped clean and do laundry at home.
"If you don't have too high expectations for your cooking skills..."
Angel introduced his own female worker, Tromi, who was only half his own female worker, to Melissa and Benson.
"But she's already working in your house. If we hire her..." Melissa was still a little hesitant, as if she was worried that hiring the maid from Angel's family would be equivalent to throwing her own problems to the other party.
"I think we can hire them together. After all, my family only needs simple cleaning and laundry, and you don't need a maid on call all day. Although Tromi will be a little more tired than she is now, her income will be higher, and we won't have to pay the full hiring fee individually."
Angel came up with a solution that had the best of both worlds.
This will undoubtedly increase the workload of female worker Tromi, but compared to her current situation of running back and forth between multiple employers every day, having two fixed employers next to each other and even having food and accommodation provided is actually better for her.
While Melissa was still frowning and thinking, Benson had already nodded in agreement with the plan.
"I think Miss Granger's plan is very suitable. The only thing that needs to be discussed in detail is the price." He nodded at Melissa, stopping his sister who was about to continue speaking. "If it's convenient, how about having her come to our house tomorrow evening to try to do some housework?"
As the two continued to finalize the details, a hired carriage slowly drove by and stopped by the side of the road.
Klein, looking exhausted, stepped off the carriage. Before he had taken two steps, he spotted Angel and the other two standing by the roadside. He was startled at first, then quickly walked forward and arrived at his door.
"Klein, I didn't expect you to be the last one back."
The sharp-eyed Melissa spotted him first.
"I didn't expect I'd be even later than Benson," Klein forced a smile, then looked at Angel. "Angel, did you just get back too?"
"Yes, I met Mr. Benson and chatted for a while. I was also curious how I got home before you after going all the way from the docks."
Angel noticed that Klein looked even more tired than when they said goodbye. It was obvious that he had not wasted time resting at the Blackthorn Security Company, but had gone somewhere else.
"I went to Mr. Azik's house and asked a few questions. He plans to leave Tingen and go to Backlund tomorrow."
Recalling the bronze-skinned university teacher, Angel asked doubtfully:
"Didn't he just get back from vacation?"
"He left something in Backlund. It'll take some time to retrieve it."
Klein replied, a hint of sadness in his eyes.
The item was left in Backlund. Did he need to go there in person? And from what he said, it seemed like he'd be gone for quite some time...
Angel didn't think about it, but just nodded to show that he understood.
Now that Klein had returned, she didn't plan to bother the Moretti family any further. After saying goodbye casually and preparing to leave, Melissa stopped her.
"Miss Angel, are you free this weekend?"
"I have a day off this Sunday. Is there anything I can help you with?"
Melissa smiled happily upon hearing this. She quickly glanced at Klein and said, "This weekend, there's a celebration at the park in the center of Red Moon Street in the North District—not far from St. Selina's Church. Benson and I will have Sunday off, and so will Klein, so..."
She looked at Angel expectantly.
The latter looked at Klein and saw that he looked confused. It was obvious that he had not been informed of his sister's arrangements in advance.
Not wanting to let Melissa's "careful plan" down, Angel nodded.
