Chapter 258: Fully Prepared
The next day, Angel arrived at Williams Street early in the morning and found the folk herbal medicine shop that Carlson mentioned.
There are some common flowers and plants planted outside the shop, and it is decorated like a flower shop rather than an herbal medicine shop. You can smell a fragrance from a long distance away, mixed with the pungent smell of various herbs.
She pushed open the unlocked glass door and entered the large but somewhat messy herbal medicine shop.
An obese man was lying on a wooden lounge chair with his back to the door. His oversized waist squeezed out of the backrest on both sides, making people wonder if the chair would collapse at any time.
The chair was swaying slightly, and the person sitting on it was drifting off into sleep. Beside him, a handsome young man with disheveled hair was busy in the shop, sorting herbs, grinding dried plants into powder, sorting them into glass bottles, and placing them on the shelves.
Angel felt that the young man looked familiar. After reminiscing for a moment, he remembered that he had seen him in the underground market behind the Dragon Bar in Tingen City, and even bought some essential oils for ritual magic from him.
Of course, this kind of memory is one-way, and the boy obviously did not recognize Angel whose face had changed. When he saw a guest coming to the door, he greeted him warmly, wiped his hands and came forward to greet him.
"Hello, I want to buy some things that are hard to find outside, um...mummy ashes."
After the embarrassing scene last night, she really didn't want to say this word, but due to the need for promotion, she had to put aside her shame.
The boy had the same expression as the two men from the Mechanical Heart, but he quickly reacted, turned back to the man on the recliner, and shouted:
"Teacher, please come here, she wants to buy that..."
"I've heard it, Shermin. Go to the warehouse and take the newly harvested herbs to the balcony to dry. Leave these to me."
The man on the recliner struggled to get up and looked at Angel at the door.
Both of them were stunned.
Angel discovered that he was the fat pharmacist, Darkwill, with whom he had talked many times at the "Eye of Wisdom" gathering and even cooperated.
"It's you!"
The latter was even more surprised than her, his eyes widened, his right hand reached for his waist, and his left foot raised, as if he was about to break through the door and escape in the next second.
Fortunately, this true "pharmacist" possessed the basic qualities of an extraordinary person and quickly calmed down.
"I thought you were here to cause me trouble..."
He mumbled an explanation, sitting back down on the wooden recliner and wiping the sweat from his face with his sleeve.
"In fact, until you turned around just now, I didn't even know this was your herbal medicine shop," Angel said, looking around the large room filled with bottles, jars, and wooden shelves. "I'm just here to buy some herbs, well, what could barely be considered herbs."
"Mummy powder, huh?" Darkwill gave Angel the kind of "I get it" expression he was almost tired of seeing. "Why don't you just buy the potion I made? Everyone at the party said it's so effective, it's in short supply."
"I'm using it as material. I want real mummy ashes. I don't want it mixed with anything else or made into a finished potion."
Angel was too lazy to explain, as it would only make things worse.
She could only blame the strangeness of the "Pleasure Witch" formula in her heart, wondering why it had to use this auxiliary material that had special effects and was easily misunderstood.
"Real, pure mummy ashes are very expensive, and the effects aren't as good as you might think. They're usually mixed with some ineffective, non-deadly ingredients, and sold under the guise of mummy powder to sell the real... medicine." The portly pharmacist seemed to be trying to sell his potion, but under Angel's serious gaze, he returned to the right path. "Mummies come from the southern continent, from the 'Highland Kingdom.' There, mummification is a sacred and rare custom reserved for the noble. The 'ashes' you need, even in the powdered form of real mummies, only make up a small fraction."
"How much?"
Ignoring this "historical knowledge" that was obviously paving the way for price, Angel went straight to the point.
"Five pounds, five pounds per gram."
Darkwill replied quickly.
That's 25 pounds for 5 grams... It's expensive, but it's within my budget. Besides, I don't want to be looked at strangely anymore. If I can solve the problem here, 50 pounds is fine...
Angel thought about it and nodded.
Darkwill took out a small glass bottle filled with off-white powder from a locked cabinet, carefully measured out 5 grams on a scale, put it into a test tube, sealed it, and handed it to Angel.
The latter used the magic mirror to perform divination in front of him and confirmed that these were real mummy ashes, not rat ashes or simply wall dust.
She breathed a sigh of relief and put the test tube away.
Finally... I have gathered all the materials.
Angel counted out 125 pounds in banknotes and handed them to the surprised Darkwill.
"So much... Oh, you gave me the 100 pounds too. I thought... Hehe."
Halfway through his speech, the pharmacist smiled awkwardly and closed his mouth.
"This is the final payment for the 'Pharmacist' formula clue," Angel explained, looking at Darkwill with suspicion. "You think I won't give you this 100 pounds? Do you think it's impossible for me to successfully obtain the formula?"
"That priest from Feysac is indeed a bit difficult to deal with. I originally thought you would fail. Although your life wouldn't be in danger, someone like you has come to me angrily before..."
A hint of fear showed on his fat face as he answered slowly, as if the ending of that "communication" was not very good.
"And I heard that last month a vampire, a real vampire, got lost and walked into the Harvest Church. He was captured by Father Utravsky and has been imprisoned ever since. He's been forced to listen to the Mother Goddess's teachings every day in an attempt to convert him."
Vampire, lost?
Angel quickly caught the key word at the end.
Could it be that this unfortunate vampire had been tricked into the Church of the Earth Mother by the "Master Key" that had gotten me lost countless times, and had been captured by Father Utravsky? And this key had become the priest's collection, and finally fell into my hands.
Angel had originally planned to find some time to find the priest and ask about the "master key", but now there was one more thing he needed to know.
But for now, the most important thing has been determined.
Stroking the slender test tube in his pocket, Angel walked out of the folk herbal medicine shop and looked at the busy street.
Now that the materials are ready, it's time to become a "Pleasure Witch".

At the same time, in a magnificent villa that looked like a palace.
"Thank you. I originally thought that this kind of material didn't exist in the world at all. I was almost desperate."
A woman who seemed to have just reached adulthood, with a slightly round face and a gentle temperament, took a delicate iron box the size of a palm, opened it and took a look, then smiled at the middle-aged man in front of her and spoke in a gentle tone.
The latter pursed his lips and looked serious, but his eyes involuntarily looked at the woman's face. He replied in a low voice: "I said I would find everything you need. This is the most solemn promise of a gentleman."
Then he turned back reluctantly and left the room.
The woman looked at the other person with a sad face, tears seemed to be flowing in her eyes, but after the door closed, this disguised expression immediately disappeared, turning into a faint sarcasm, or self-mockery.
"Tris, I never thought that there would be a day like this for you, a day where you would use your female identity to get what you want."
She laughed at "Tris" who was nowhere to be found, and opened the iron box in her hand. Inside was a purple-black sac that was shaped like a heart and covered with spider silk.
The lid snapped shut and the woman looked at the beautiful scenery outside the window, but her eyes were unfocused.
"Soon, very soon I'll be free from all this."
She murmured.
Tomorrow, it's quite sudden
