Chapter 506 The End of the Roleplay

Chapter 506 The End of the Roleplay

After all, the admiral was a time-tested Extraordinary Person, and he quickly calmed down. Especially the frank look in "German"'s eyes made him subconsciously think that the other party was unlikely to be the initiator of various accidents, otherwise he would have fled Oravi Island before he returned. How could he dare to sleep soundly in bed?

After calming down, he quickly found out what happened in the past three days.

Klein didn't exaggerate too much. Apart from concealing Angel's role in the battle and attributing the effect of Anne's blood isolating the power of the "Mother Tree of Desire" to the effect of the "Ninth Law" spell, he told Amyrius everything that happened in the past three days and the key choices he made.

Of course, he would never tell Angel that the real target of the Mother Tree of Desire might be him and Angel.

Not to mention that this is all based on speculation, just letting the admiral find out that he is actually an innocent victim may bring endless troubles later.

Upon hearing how Cynthia had been deceived by the Celestial Cult, transformed into a deformed monster, and ultimately purified in the divine light, Amyrius took the necklace with the black rhino horn pendant and squeezed it tightly, veins bulging on the back of his hand and a gloomy expression on his face.

"You dealt with their leader and sent Lürhan to openly hunt down all the 'Cultists' on the island?"

He asked slowly, his voice low and concealing an inexplicable emotion.

"I think that's the reaction you should have."

Klein answered frankly that these kinds of accidents were not among the "coping methods" he received after accepting the commission. His methods of handling them were purely based on his understanding of Amyrius, the demigod, but he was very confident.

"Your choice, no problem."

After pacing back and forth in the bedroom in silence for a while, Amyrius spoke.

With the other party's approval, Klein felt that the potion in his body had been digested a lot in this final recovery.

Compared to his fragmented performances and the feedback he had received from his secretary, mistress, and guards and servants in the past few days, the final recognition from a demigod was undoubtedly more effective feedback.

He breathed a sigh of relief and felt his whole body relax a lot. The tension in the role-playing in the past few days, the various "tests" he encountered, and the crisis last night were finally rewarded.

Glancing at him with some curiosity, Amyrius curled his lips, making his depressed corners more lively, and then he spoke:

"You can leave now. Go to Bilt to collect the remaining reward."

After something like this, didn't he have to sign some kind of "non-disclosure agreement"? Or did he think a Sequence 6 would never dare to violate professional ethics and publicize Amyrius's private affairs?

Several thoughts flashed through Klein's mind. He nodded calmly and exchanged their clothes.

Seeing that Klein's left shoulder was still bandaged under his robe, with a lot of blood seeping out, Amyrius frowned and asked casually:

"Is your shoulder injured from last night?"

Klein took the windbreaker and hat and replied:

"Not serious."

He was not being modest. This injury would heal completely in a few days. If he borrowed Angel's "Rose Necklace" after returning, it would even only take a few minutes.

"He collected an extra £200 from Birt, saying it was my order."

After calmly adding a portion to Klein's reward, Amyrius put on his pajamas, smoothed his messy hair, and transformed himself back into the respectable demigod he was.

Klein also returned to his crazy adventurer's attire, holding his hat as he bowed gracefully.

"Thank you for your generosity."

When he raised his head again and put on his top hat, his face had changed back to the thin "German Sparrow".

Watching Klein's departing back from the window, Amyrius held the rhino horn pendant in his hand and looked up at the crimson moon in the sky.

Compared to when he went to the nameless island and searched for the ghost ship without success, the moon was a little fuller.

But when I came back, everything was different...

With a crack, he clenched his fingers and then released them. The pendant was crushed into powder and fell to the ground.

After leaving Amyrius's villa, Klein did not immediately rush back to the hotel where Angel was staying. Instead, he used a paper figurine to avoid the divination's tracking while finding a hidden alley. He walked four steps in reverse and climbed up to the Gray Mist Palace to "deal with" all the hidden dangers he had encountered over the past three days.

The first thing he did was to assess whether he had been contaminated by the "Mother Tree of Desire". He used various methods such as the feedback from prayers, paper angels, and the scepter of Poseidon to turn himself inside out, and did a detailed divination. Only then did he preliminarily determine that he was still "clean".

Otherwise, he would rather report to the Storm Church at night than return to Angel and bring possible risks to her.

The tragic state of the admiral's mistress, Cynthia, that night, as well as her final tears, still lingered in Klein's heart, and it would probably take him a long time to forget.

After doing all this, he did not return to reality immediately, but sat in the Fool's high-back chair, thinking about it all.

"The divination beforehand indicated no risk, and there was no contamination left afterward... If both divinations were interfered with by some entity, without my even noticing, then that entity's status is extremely high, even surpassing that of a true god..."

He muttered, looking at the pile of junk beside the high-back chair. There was the Poseidon Scepter from Kalvetuva, the Time Worm from Amon, the Angel King, and the Eye of Black that had been contaminated by the True Creator...

Whether it was the pollution from the Sequence 1 Angel King or the "True Creator" whose status was similar to that of a true God, they were all firmly suppressed by this gray fog. He even tried to commit suicide here, divining with the "Eternal Blazing Sun" and the "True Creator", and withstood the other party's counterattack, but did not die on the spot.

When Backlund divined Angel's whereabouts, as long as he had relevant clues, the gray fog could eliminate the interference from the "Secret Holy Symbol".

"This leaves us with two possibilities. First, this gray fog is unable to detect the interference of the Mother Tree of Desire. It is even a higher-level existence than ordinary gods. Second, this pollution is indeed not truly 'harmful'. Is its purpose really to make me, Angel, become its favored one?"

But no matter what, as a Sequence 6 Beyonder, my control over this gray fog is still too weak... I'm afraid I'll have to reach Demigod status before I can truly use it.

He looked up at the direction of the stairs of light not far away, which seemed to be hidden in the depths of the gray fog. His desire to advance in rank and improve his strength became more urgent.

After passing through the gray fog and returning to reality, Klein chose a new direction and headed towards the Sweet Lemon Bar under the cover of night.

————

On the second floor of the Sweet Lemon Bar, in Bill Brando's room.

The leader of the Adventurers' Mutual Aid Association was holding a cigar and looking out the window, towards the direction of the naval base.

Last night, a small-scale riot broke out in the Admiral's mansion near the base. The Church of Storms and the military intervened, and many guards and servants were carried out of there and sent to the hospital or church.

Since then, the local garrison has joined forces with the police to launch a series of operations, focusing on cracking down on members of the "Natural Sect" hiding on the island. The actions were swift and the methods were brutal. Even ordinary adventurers and industries in the "gray area" suffered considerable losses.

According to his inquiries, the order for the action was actually issued by "Admiral Amyrius" himself.

That guy is a fake now!

Bilt didn't recall these actions being mentioned in the documents he'd received from Amyrius. All his double needed to do was eat and drink well, conceal the truth from those around him, and find some excuse to delay important decisions for a few days. They could then complete the admiral's commission and escape. Given Amyrius's character, he wouldn't kill to silence anyone, and his compensation would be paid in full.

But what is happening now?

If Amyrius had not told him not to contact that German Sparrow easily before leaving, Bilt would have wanted to rush into the admiral's mansion and question this stupid and crazy adventurer about what was going on in his mind.

The door opened with a click. Bilt turned around and saw that it was his deputy, Sotos Young, a bearded man with a tan complexion.

"Did you find out?"

Bilt returned to the table, placed his cigar on the ashtray, and asked.

"The situation is still unclear..."

Sothoth replied vaguely, unbuttoning his trench coat.

"Then keep investigating!" Bilt cursed angrily upon hearing his men's incompetence. "When the Admiral returns, we'll be clueless and we'll all be feeding the fish! If that happens, we might as well have given up our property here and gone east as pirates!"

"But……"

Sothoth still looked confused, with a bewildered expression and his facial features wrinkled.

"No buts. Use all your connections to find out. Someone will definitely know what happened last night. But don't try to bribe the Admiral's people. He wouldn't like that... Go to Cynthia's house and ask her parents. Maybe they know something."

Bilt pointed out, feeling somewhat disappointed with this subordinate who often mingled with pirates.

"I thought you knew something."

Sothoth sighed and said with some regret, wiping his hand across his face. In front of Bilt's horrified eyes, he turned into the crazy adventurer, Hermann, whom he had just cursed in his heart.
