Chapter 55: Mutated Bieber

Chapter 55: Mutated Bieber

Angel breathed a sigh of relief after successfully luring out and killing the hooded assassin hiding behind the chimney.

When she was changing the bullet just now, she had this plan with both risks and benefits in her mind.

The 0.45-inch pistol she had used before only had five rounds of bullets, and the new 0.38-inch pistol also only had five rounds of bullets before reloading. She wanted to try to use this "illusion" to lure the hooded assassin out to attack her so as to end the battle quickly.

Unexpectedly, the naive assassin was easily fooled. After he deliberately used up "five" bullets, he rushed towards him without hesitation, trying to attack him when he was unarmed.

Then the last bullet shot through his chin and the top of his head, leaving him dead.

Angel pushed away the hooded assassin who was on top of him, whose eyes were still wide open and unwilling to close. The latter's limp body collapsed to the ground, his young face under the hood facing the sky, his lifeless eyes reflecting a ray of light under the scorching sun, as if there was still life in him.

She retrieved the other pistol that had been discarded, reloaded both, and then headed towards the front of the battlefield. There had been no gunfire for a while, and it seemed the Nighthawks, who had the advantage in both strength and numbers, had already ended the battle.

Leaving the area still filled with cold air, she came to a corner of the rooftop. Below was the open space where the Night Watchmen had just fought the Tuxedo Clown.

At this time, the unattended sealed object "2-049" was thrown in the middle of the open space. Rapid "dong dong dong" knocking sounds came from the iron box, as if expressing dissatisfaction with being ignored, but the night watchmen around had no time to take care of it.

Lorota had retreated from the warehouse wall to the other end of the open space. Together with Borgia, they aimed their pistols at the main entrance of the warehouse. Dunn, Klein, and Leonard were on the other side, standing in a triangle with Lorota, the others, and 2-049, also holding their guns and keeping watch.

The Tuxedo Clown was nowhere to be seen.

What's going on? Where's that clown?

Angel frowned and looked at the strange scene below. Could it be that the guy hid inside the warehouse?

Bang!

With a loud bang, the wooden double doors of the warehouse seemed to be blown open by a bomb, shattering into countless pieces and flying across the entire open space in front.

In Angel's enhanced visual observation, there were some human tissues mixed in with the wood fragments.

"Tissue" wasn't quite the right word; it was more like human fragments. Flesh, shattered into unrecognizable chunks, flew off with the warehouse door. Among them were a mixture of red and yellow muscle and fat, dark red internal organs, and white bones tinged with red.

On the slightly intact part, half of a dock worker's gray uniform was still hanging.

It was the "dock worker" who had just disappeared after being injured by Angel during his failed sneak attack on Dunn! It turned out that this guy had sneaked into the warehouse, intending to find the Antigonus family notebook of Riel Bibb before the Nighthawks.

But within a few minutes, a living person turned into pieces and flew out of the warehouse door. Who in the warehouse tore him into pieces like this?

As if answering Angel's doubts, a grayish-white figure appeared in front of the warehouse door.

Under the strong sunlight, the "assassin"'s dark vision could not see the situation inside the warehouse clearly, but the gray-white figure quickly squeezed out of the warehouse door, revealing a body more than two meters tall.

He, or rather it, although maintaining a barely human form, his limbs were bent backwards, his body was flowing with a sticky, translucent liquid, the ends of his ribs were broken, and one by one they were sticking out of the skin, his grayish-white skin was covered with wrinkles as if it had been soaked in water for many days.

Compared to the severely swollen body, the only relatively normal head was tilted towards the sky, with its mouth open and closed, oozing bloody saliva mixed with muscle tissue.

It seems that the torn-to-shreds "dock worker" was the masterpiece of this monster.

As chewed human tissue falls from the mouth, an all-ceramic denture stands out among a mouth full of deformed and missing teeth.

"That's Riel Bieber, he's out of control!" Leonard shouted as the 2-049's tapping speed suddenly increased.

Hearing his shout, "Riel Bieber" mechanically turned his head with his head held high. His cloudy eyes seemed to be unfocused, but he was looking accurately in the direction of the crowd.

"Bang, bang!"

There was no need for Dunn's command. Several people had already aimed and fired one after another. Two bullets accurately hit the head of the mutated Bieber, the only organ that could be considered a human body. The demon hunting bullets easily penetrated its skull, leaving two holes as thick as fingers.

But aside from leaking some grayish-white fluid, the mutant Bieber was completely unaffected. It swung its swollen, crooked legs, dragging a trail of sticky secretions as it walked towards Leonard and the others.

Leonard and Klein retreated and fired, each demon-hunting bullet hitting the deformed body of the mutant Bieber. However, bullets of this caliber were like a tickle to the monster over two meters tall. Apart from causing it to ooze more gray liquid, they did nothing to stop its advance.

The others also shot from the side, but their attacks were ineffective, whether from the side or the back.

Looking down from above, the monster Bieber seemed to be chasing Leonard and the others, but Angel keenly noticed that it was not heading directly towards the Night Watchers, but towards 2-049, the Antigonus puppet in the middle of the field!

"Be careful, its target is the seal!" Angel reminded everyone below, and at the same time raised his gun and fired a demon hunting bullet, which accurately hit the top of the mutant Bieber's head and passed through the other side of the neck.

"Lolota, it looks like a dead spirit. Find its weakness as soon as possible. Leonard, try to control it!"

Hearing Angel's reminder, Dunn reacted immediately. He shot the iron box containing the doll, knocking it several meters away, and quickly gave orders.

Lolota put down the gun, raised his hands to cover his eyes, and quickly entered the vision of the undead, using the ability of "gravedigger" to find Riel Bieber's weakness.

Leonard, the "Midnight Poet," also recited the poem he had already memorized:

"Ah, the danger of fear, the crimson hope..."

The mutated Bieber had already reached 2-049. Seeing the Sealed Artifact, about to be grasped, being shot away by Dunn, its mind, incapable of careful thought, drove its twisted limbs in a different direction, continuing its pursuit of the iron box. The sound of a poet's chanting reached its ears, spreading a soothing power that slowed the two-meter-tall monster's pace, as if it were about to fall asleep.

A fireball as big as a washbasin flew out from between the wooden boxes in the corner of the open space and flew slowly towards Leonard who was reciting poetry.

Then ripples appeared there, and the tall and thin figure of the clown in a tuxedo appeared.

"Get out of the way!" Klein exclaimed.

Leonard glanced and saw that the fireball was targeting him, so he had to interrupt the Midnight Poet's ability and roll out of the fireball's attack range.

Angel fired several shots at the Tuxedo Clown from a high position, but the agile clown dodged the bullets with a weird twist of his body, and even gave her a mocking smile with his face covered in oil paint.

Bang!

Tuxedo Clown snapped his fingers, and flames burst out from all parts of his body. When the flames dissipated and the smoke cleared, the figure inside had disappeared again.

But with this delay, the drowsy Reel Bieber's movements slowed down and returned to normal. He tilted his head back, opened his mouth full of bloody saliva, and let out a silent cry.

Ouch——

The heart-pounding wave swept across the entire place. The first to be hit was Luo Luota, whose eyes had turned colorless and was searching for the monster's weakness. She leaned back and took two steps back, automatically coming out of the clairvoyance state.

Leonard, who dodged the fireball and was about to continue reciting poetry, leaned back as if hit by an invisible heavy punch and fell directly to the ground, with blood flowing from his nostrils and eyes.

The other people were a little further away from Bieber and were less affected, but even Angel, who was far away on the roof, felt a headache, numbness in his limbs, and even his vision became blurred.

A howl dealt a heavy blow to the Night Watchmen present. The mutated Bieber lowered his head again, and his cloudy eyes locked onto 2-049 in the distance. He walked towards the iron box slowly with staggering steps.

From the beginning to the end, its only target was the seal of the Antigonus family.

"Control it, I found the weakness!"

He pressed his eyes again to enter the gravedigger's clairvoyant state, and this time, Luo Luota shouted loudly in just a few seconds.

Looking at Leonard who was struggling to get up, Dunn didn't hesitate. He pressed his brows and closed his eyes. The invisible wave of "nightmare" radiated outwards with him as the center.

Faster than listening to the "Midnight Poet" reciting poetry, the mutated Riel Bieber's twisted limbs stopped moving, his eyes ignored the nearby 2-049, and his head, which was disproportionate to his huge body, slowly drooped and fell into a deep sleep.

Luo Luota threw away the pistol and rushed towards the motionless monster with his bare hands. With a slide, he rubbed against the gravel on the ground and got under the monster.

With a lightning-fast punch, dark red body fluids spurted out from Riel Bieber's crotch, splashing all over Lolotta under him. She didn't bother to dodge, and with another strong pull with her right hand, she took out the object mixed with a piece of intestine, kicked off with her feet, and got out from under the monster.

In her hand was an ancient notebook stained with mucus and blood. It was the Nighthawks' target today, the notebook of the Antigonus family.

On the roof of the warehouse, in the air rippling like water, the figure of the clown in a tuxedo appeared again. He grinned, stretched out his finger, and pointed downwards at Lolota, who was running away from the mutant monster with a notebook in his hand.

"Bang!"

A gunshot rang out. The clown's upper body did not move, but his waist twisted as if it had no bones, avoiding a flying bullet.

He looked at the rooftop of the residential building opposite. The female night watchman was holding a gun with the muzzle pointed in his direction, and a wisp of smoke was rising.

The clown's mouth widened, and he made a weird expression, ignoring the threat of the gun, and jumped off the roof of the warehouse.

Angel chased after him and fired two shots. It seemed that he hit the opponent, but he did not stop the opponent's action. The clown fell to the ground and rolled over. Flames appeared again. He dodged the bullet shot by Borgia on the side. His body appeared in the smoke and dust a few meters away, only a few body lengths away from Lorota who was holding the notebook!

"Ah!" A loud scream rang out.

Riel Bieber, whose crotch was hollowed out, seemed to have just woken up from his sleep, opened his mouth and howled, and then his body emitted a dazzling light, as if it was on fire from the inside.

"boom!"

With a loud bang, the twisted monster's body exploded.
