Chapter 285 The Communication Between the Two
Audrey, Justice, quickly scanned the other members, roughly analyzing their current moods from their actions.
This was thanks to her accumulated acting experience and her summary of the "Mind Reader" acting method. Perhaps soon she would be able to fully digest the potion and touch the threshold of Sequence 7.
"Hmm, Miss Queen beside you seems a little tired and stiff. Was she injured in yesterday's battle?" She pursed her lips, her heart filled with regret. "Mr. Sun is a little anxious. Last week, he was imprisoned in a cell to prevent him from getting out of control. He met a former expedition leader. Is he troubled by that incident? And Mr. Hanged Man..."
Before she finished her analysis, the Hanged Man sitting opposite her bowed to the Fool, followed by the other members, and then said:
"Mr. Fool, everyone, good afternoon. I found three new pages of Russell's diary."
He said this with a hint of boasting.
Ah, I haven't found a new diary in a while since I've been busy with the Psychological Alchemy Society recently...
Audrey concealed her disappointment well, but she also noticed that the "magician" Fors beside her was showing an expression of uncontrollable surprise.
"Fors still found out... Luckily, Susie tore up all the diaries I collected and submitted last week. Otherwise, she would have definitely come to borrow them, and Mr. Fool would have discovered that they were all duplicates, and that they were diaries I had submitted before..."
While she pondered, the Hanged Man offered the desired reward: information about the card in the Fool's hand.
The Fool did not reply immediately. Instead, he looked at the other members and said with a smile:
"Anyone else wanting to join this deal? The same three pages, or information of equal value."
The latter sentence obviously refers to Mr. Sun, because he is currently in the "Silver City" which is cut off from the outside world and may not be able to obtain Russell's diary.
After hesitating for a moment, everyone except Audrey joined the deal between the Hanged Man and Mr. Fool with subsequent contributions. However, Audrey did not need to do so, as she had already learned the secret of the "Blasphemy Card" after helping the Fool's followers obtain it.
"This is the 'Card of Blasphemy'. It records all the potion knowledge of an entire extraordinary path."
The Fool didn't move. The card in his hand automatically flipped open, facing the table, allowing all members to see its contents. It depicted Emperor Roselle, wearing a black crown, armor of the same color, and a cloak on his back. In the upper left corner was a line of bright, dazzling words:
"Sequence 0, Black Emperor."
The scene Audrey had been anticipating appeared. Even Fors, who had just joined the Tarot Club and had very little knowledge of the subject, gasped. Mr. World, who was sitting far away, leaned back exaggeratedly. Not even the pervasive gray fog could prevent their movements from being reflected in the eyes of this "mind reader."
Sequence 0!
It turns out that Sequence 1 of the potion is not the top, there is another sequence above it, and if Sequence 2 can be called an angel, then Sequence 0... could it be the sequence where the true God is?
The display ended quickly, and everyone fell silent, with different thoughts in their minds. The long bronze table was completely silent for a moment. Only the Hanged Man reacted quickly and materialized the three pages of the diary, submitting his own price for acquiring knowledge. His movements were swift and extremely pious.
"You guys get started."
A few minutes later, Mr. Fool finished reading the diary and said, moving the party to the next stage.
"Mr. Fool, I request to speak privately with the Queen."
Seeing the Hanged Man looking towards the sun as if about to speak, Audrey quickly spoke first.
After the Fool tapped the table with his finger, signaling they could begin, she looked impatiently at the Queen on her right and said apologetically:
"Miss Queen, thank you for your help last night and for your subsequent reminder. This morning, the Night Watcher came to my house and asked about what happened last night. Fortunately, with Mr. Fool's help, the Psychic's methods were ineffective against me. However, I still revealed your identity as the Fortuneteller, otherwise we can't explain our hasty departure.
"Also, she asked me to invite you to my house soon. I promised you a tea party on Wednesday afternoon. Perhaps the Nighthawks will secretly investigate you, such as the 'dream entry' you mentioned, or similar covert methods."
The "psychic" among the Nighthawks? Could it be Ms. Daly?
Angel pondered.
The identity of "Fortune Teller" was difficult to disguise. It was a fake identity that they had come up with after discussing it. Exposing it to the Night Watcher was part of their plan, but she was a little worried about having to face the Night Watcher so soon and facing the scrutiny in her dream.
As if sensing her thoughts, the Fool at the head of the long table tapped the table and said:
"Given your contribution to disrupting the attempts of the 'Fallen Creator' and the Aurora Society, I will provide similar assistance to Miss Justice when the time is right."
"Mr. Fool, you mean the ability of the 'angel' to help me fight dreams and communicate with spirits."
Seeing that Angel was confused, Audrey took the initiative to explain.
So that's what she meant by "Mr. Fool's help"... But does she mean the "angel" literally?
I remember that only Sequence 2 Beyonders could earn such a title. Sure enough, Mr. Fool, able to command angels, is a true god...
Angel quickly thanked the Fool, and then Audrey asked about the details of the battle last night. This was the main reason why she requested a "private conversation."
The other party was also one of the parties involved, and even Ms. D's main target, so Angel did not conceal the details of the battle, but only implicitly changed Sherlock's information to "a follower of the Fool."
"...Based on the fragmentary information I obtained through divination afterwards, I judge that the other party's ultimate goal is your father, as well as his assets and status. Of course, this goal is likely to fail. I believe that your father has Beyonders protecting him, or that he possesses certain methods of the Church to prevent Beyonders from easily infiltrating him."
After briefly explaining what happened last night, Angel analyzed that she had seen similar methods used by many witches in the "Witch Sect". Of course, their methods were slightly different...
"So it's the Aurora Society's divine messenger, not the Psychological Alchemy Society..."
Audrey murmured, only then did she realize that her life was almost in danger last night. If Miss Queen had arrived a few minutes later, she might have been imprisoned or even killed on the spot, and then Ms. D, who could perfectly transform into other appearances, would have become the new "Audrey Hall" and might even threaten her father and all her relatives!
"Thank you again, Miss Queen. You have saved my family from a huge crisis."
She thanked Angel again solemnly.
Angel didn't take it seriously. She had also gained a lot in this battle. Just talking about Ms. D's "Shepherd" extraordinary characteristic, the value was probably close to five figures. The other two Sequence 6 characteristics, after being transformed into corresponding magical items by the hands of craftsmen, were also very valuable.
Of course, part of this was due to Sherlock Moriarty, who came to help divert the official Beyonder, allowing her to wait until the Beyonder characteristics were analyzed, making an important contribution. Otherwise, the battle would probably have ended in failure.
And Audrey...
"My Lady Queen, for your help last night, I will compensate you with some additional funds. Well, I can quickly come up with approximately 5,000 pounds. If you require any extraordinary materials, I will search the family treasury to offset the amount. However, we will have to wait until this incident is over. My father and brothers will be keeping a close eye on me, so I won't be able to mobilize too many resources."
As soon as she looked at Miss Justice beside her, she offered to compensate her additionally without mentioning the Beyonder characteristics at all, as if she had already tacitly accepted that this part belonged to her.
Angel subconsciously wanted to refuse the unexpected 5,000 pounds, but then he remembered that he was almost penniless, so he finally put aside his conscience and nodded in agreement.
After reaching an agreement under the witness of Mr. Fool, they began to discuss the next issue:
Should this matter be made public within the Tarot Club?
Of course, this first depends on Mr. Fool's opinion, but He just listened quietly to the conversation between the two without any move to express any opinion, so the final decision fell on "Justice" Audrey Hall.
This time, the destruction caused by Ms. D in the Hillston District was eventually taken over by the Night Watchmen. Many people knew that Audrey was involved in the incident. As long as they were willing to investigate, the Tarot Club members who knew that "Justice" was involved could easily find out her relationship with "Audrey" and expose her real identity.
"Please conceal my role in this and tell them this matter. After all, the Aurora Society is an evil sect, and the evil god they believe in is also..."
Audrey glanced at Mr. Fool, pursed her lips, and said somewhat unwillingly that she really wanted to loudly announce in the Tarot Club that she played a part in killing the Aurora Society's messenger, but if there was a possibility of exposing her identity, then she would have to give up regretfully.
After a brief discussion, the two ended this private conversation.
