Chapter 651 Night on Both Sides
“As I write this, the steam train has already passed through the southern plains of Intis and is about to enter the city walls of Trier. I really hope to have the opportunity to let you see the beautiful scenery here.
"Due to the time difference between the two places, it's six in the evening locally, and it should be close to midnight in Backlund. I didn't want to disturb you, but I encountered something.
"In the car, I met Miss Magician. Her real identity is the Beyonder of the Apprentice Path whom I met when I was Erin Watson. Although we didn't have a close relationship, I still used this opportunity to get close to her and learned why she came to Trier.
"She's actually the publishing agent for the 'Great Adventurer Series' and the 'Great Pirate Series'. She's already made thousands of pounds from this business, and she's planning to sell the books to Intis!
"Do you think we should ask her, and the real author, William, the boatswain of 'The Red-haired Lady', to collect some of the 'copyright fees'?
"I await your answer. I will keep an eye on her in Trier."
After reading the letter from the messenger lady, Klein, the "crazy adventurer" written into the book, couldn't help but laugh, feeling the resentment that Angel wanted to convey to him immediately even at the cost of a gold coin.
He didn't expect that the other party had just gone on a long trip and had caught another Tarot Club member on the road before even reaching his destination.
As the Fool, Klein certainly knew the true identity of the "Magician" lady whom he had dragged into the gray fog. However, he never expected that a best-selling author would dare to publish a novel involving so many pirate generals.
Perhaps because she thought it was just a publishing agency, it wouldn't be a big deal... Thinking of his other identity, "German Sparrow," who not only became the protagonist of a bestseller but was also worth a fortune, Klein felt a little itchy.
Of course, this is not just about the "copyright fees" issue mentioned by Angel. Properly expanding the influence of that identity will be beneficial to his future roles and switching between different identities. It can even put this crazy adventurer in the spotlight at critical moments and hide other identities in the shadows.
The same is true for Angel's identity as the demigod pirate "Angelica".
"There's no need to prevent the publication of subsequent novels; we could even encourage them... but the content needs to be slightly revised. At least the story of German, Vice Admiral Dusk, and Admiral Hell is a bit too horrifying. And we can collect copyright fees. Next week, no, at the Tarot meeting the week after, we can work with Angel to pressure Miss Magician into giving back some of her profits... There's no need to go too far; after all, she didn't do anything wrong.
"As for the real author, William from the monster channel, I finally understand why he kept feeling like he was being spied on by the 'Red-haired Girl'. He must have been planning to include me in his novel back then... But the 'monster' would easily go crazy seeing me with the gray mist on me. How did he avoid that?"
After thinking for a moment, Klein decided to reply to Angel tomorrow and discuss how to get some gold pounds from "Magician" Fors. But tonight, he had more important things to do.
A moment later, Klein appeared in the bathroom of his bedroom, already wearing a trench coat and a top hat, ready to go.
He pulled a paper figurine out of his pocket and shook it into Dwayne Dantès, who was sitting on the toilet, holding a book, as if in a daze. He then adjusted his height, age, and facial shape to become German Sparrow, a man who traveled across the five seas and had "affairs" with many pirate generals. His left glove became transparent and he quickly activated "teleportation."
In just a few breaths, Klein arrived at the Backlund Bridge across the Tussock River through the spirit world. He dodged the guards on the bridge and stood in the shadow of the tower at the bridgehead.
When the faint sound of bells came from the Harvest Church in the distance, green pea vines suddenly appeared above his head. They grew without roots and intertwined into a dense forest. Among them was an upward staircase, circling around invisible pillars and leading to the dark night sky.
When I first encountered these vines and that person half a year ago, I could only flee in panic. I never expected that I would now have the opportunity for an equal dialogue, although, it was only due to the intimidating power of The Fool... Klein chuckled secretly and climbed the stairs, quickly reaching a height many times higher than the towering bridge tower.
Amid the sound of the wind, he came to the hanging garden woven with green vines, saw the hanging basket-like chair and the woman sitting on the chair.
She was wearing an Intis-style white shirt with a lace collar, black slim-fit pants, black leather boots, a rapier hanging from her waist, her long chestnut hair swaying in the wind, and her azure eyes staring off into the distance as if out of focus.
She is one of the pirate kings, the eldest daughter of Emperor Roselle, the "mysterious queen" Bernadette who is nearly 200 years old.
After Klein stood still on the vine platform, she turned around, her eyes fixed on the outsider who had disturbed the tranquility of the garden, and said in a somewhat ethereal voice:
"Please thank the being behind you for me. Also, thank your companion. She helped me find Annie and gave me new hope for what I'm pursuing."
Is the Fool grateful for the diaries that the Hermit submitted and requested answers? And what kind of help did the return of the Queen Anne's Revenge provide this "mysterious queen"?
Klein pondered for a moment and roughly grasped the common point between the two: Emperor Roselle.
He replied in Hermann's low, slightly frantic voice:
"I would have passed on that, but she's gone to Trier now, to find out the truth about 'The Man in the Mirror'."
"The Man in the Mirror isn't something she can touch right now... Before he fell into madness in his later years, he tried to solve Trier's Mirror Man problem and tried to use that power to achieve some purpose. But I guess he ultimately failed, so he set his sights on the top of the sequence..."
"He" should refer to Russell... I didn't expect that before the Emperor attacked the throne in his later years and tried to turn to the "Black Emperor", he also set his sights on the "Man in the Mirror", and even with his Sequence 1 strength, he was unable to do anything?
This was not mentioned at all in his diary!
Klein was somewhat surprised. Before he could ask further questions, the Mysterious Queen stood up from the hanging basket seat and said to him:
"Let's get back to the topic. What do you want from me this time?"
She seemed to understand that the previous conversation was merely an appetizer, not the main topic... Klein guessed that the other party was unwilling to delve into the previous topic, so he summoned the "ghost" Senior and had the pirate general stand between them like a waiter.
"I hope you can help him make it look like he's been eroded by the seal of the Church of Evernight's Chanis Gate for a long time, so he can sneak in quietly."
Klein said with anticipation for Sequence 4.

After sending the letter, Angel removed the spiritual wall, and the sharp sound of the steam train's brakes suddenly reached her ears.
Walking out of the bathroom, outside the box window, the original fields and woods had been replaced by low-rise houses. As the steel behemoth dragged white mist into a doorway on a high wall, the prosperous city of Trier, the capital of Intis, came into view.
Unlike Backlund, they actually built a high wall surrounding the entire city. In a world with heavy artillery and Beyonders, what use is a wall?
With this doubt, Angel waited for the train to arrive at the platform, packed his luggage, left his compartment, and knocked on the door of the "magician" Fors's room, which was three doors away.
A moment later, Fors, looking tired, opened the door. She was also carrying a suitcase and wearing the same Intis-style dress. Her bowler hat was tilted on her head, revealing a hint of cuteness in her laziness.
"Let's go."
Angel said briefly.
She now suspected that the Magician, who usually remained silent during the Tarot meetings, had secretly fallen asleep under the cover of the gray fog.
"Okay," nodded Fors, who had stayed up all night revising the manuscript the night before. "It's strange. We two Beyonders rode the steam train for two and a half days without any accidents. I was even prepared to face a murder case."
You read too many mystery novels, no, you write too many... Remembering that the other person was a best-selling author, Angel resisted the urge to complain and answered with a smile.
If there really is a murder case, she, a master of divination, can tell who the murderer is at a glance and the motive behind it clearly, leaving no room for mystery novelists to play around.
The two got off the train and, with the help of the first-class priority channel, left the platform before the crowded crowd and stepped onto the bustling street.
The passengers around them quickly left in waiting private carriages or hired carriages. Several ragged men holding palm-sized paper bags came up to them, trying to sell something in their accented Intis language, leaving Angel and Fors looking at each other in confusion.
"You too, is this your first time in Trier?"
Fors took a noticeable step back, leaving Angel to face the salespeople alone, and asked in Loenese.
"Actually, it's my second time, but last time it wasn't by train."
Angel replied.
Last time I crawled out of the catacombs, and finally returned to the catacombs... she added in her heart.
"Phew, I'm planning to stay at the hotel in District 8. It's the administrative center of Trier and the heart of all of Intis. Most newspapers and publishing houses are located there... What about you?"
After scanning the street blankly for a few times, Fors made a decision and asked "Miss Irene" about it.
Before merging into his current identity as "Miss Theresa," Angel had brushed up on some knowledge about Intis, so he answered without hesitation:
"The person I want to contact lives in this area."
The area where they are currently located, the Suchit Steam Locomotive Station, is located is District 13, also known as the Honest Man's Market District. It is almost the largest of the 20 districts in Trier. It includes stations, markets, slums and numerous commercial streets. It is a mixed crowd and chaotic.
If the informant given to her by Archbishop Anthony didn't live here, she would not want to stay in District 13 for too long.
Apparently, Fors had also thought about the environment here. A hint of hesitation appeared on her face, and after a moment, she said:
"Then let's say goodbye. If you need any help, you can come to District 8 to find me. I live in..."
At this point, she remembered that she had not yet decided which hotel to stay in.
"It's okay, did you forget? I'm a 'fortune teller', I'm always available if I need you."
Angel chuckled, picked up his luggage, walked around the salesmen who had changed their targets, and walked towards the nearby hired carriage.
Divination expert… Fors was silent for a moment. After a moment, he also got on a carriage and gave the address of a publishing house. He watched the street scene outside the window speeding away from him.
She planned to deliver the important manuscript to the underground bookseller before it was completely dark, so as to avoid being caught by "The World" or "The Queen" on the spot.
At least they had obtained Mr. X's extraordinary characteristics, and they might have the ability to "teleport"... She pursed her lips, opened her suitcase, and took out a document bag that was a full third thicker than the manuscript she had on the train. She took out the manuscript paper inside and gave it a final check under the flickering street lights outside the window.
The title on the first manuscript reads:
"The Great Pirate Angelica Series: Ghost Empire" (Complete Edition).
Should I tell Irene about the underground publication of the complete version? She was also a big fan of the series, but obviously hadn't seen this version... Fors pondered, and finally gave up the idea with a slight throbbing of spirituality.
She should be able to find a way to buy it herself soon. After all, the sales of the "complete edition" are three times that of the regular edition that can be officially published.
With a light laugh, Fors put away the manuscript and looked out the window. The center of Trier, the Boulevard District, was within reach. Her destination, the underground publishing house that published illegal magazines such as "Psychic", was openly located there.
