Chapter 27 Demonic Painting

In Pritz Harbor, inside a warehouse that is being rebuilt.

A few days later, Fors met his teacher Dorian Grey Abraham again.

"Are you ready?" Dorian asked in a deep voice.

In their previous meeting, he had already told Fors the ritual requirements of the Apprentice Path Sequence 4 "Mystic" and asked her to prepare in advance.

"Almost...it should be able to meet the requirements..." Fors replied not too confidently.

The promotion ceremony of the "Mystic" is relatively simple, but this "simple" is the antonym of "complex", not the other end of "difficult". For Fors, she would rather change it to something else.

——The ritual requires the ascender to seal a demigod-level creature with clear hostility. The less external forces are used, the better the effect of the ritual. As for the status of the target itself, as long as it is not lower than a demigod, it will not substantially affect the ritual.

Hearing the student's answer, Dorian nodded slightly and said:

"That's enough. The ritual is too difficult for a Sequence 5 Beyonder who relies purely on himself. It is essential to seek help appropriately, but you must grasp the degree and not exceed the corresponding limit, otherwise the ritual will definitely fail."

The advice he had given to Fors was to only borrow a Level 1 Sealing Artifact, and it would be best not to even ask for help from a Saint.

Fors said vaguely:

"I only intend to make a wish to Mr. Fool, to increase the success rate of promotion after taking the potion. This is closer to getting good luck when taking the potion, rather than getting a blessing when sealing the demigod creature.

"In addition to this, it is to use the painting you mentioned, teacher."

That painting was not the "0" level sealed object "God's Scroll", but a "1" level sealed object belonging to the Abraham family, called "Devil's Oil Painting".

In the Fourth Epoch, when many members of the Abraham family were promoted to Sequence 4 "Mystic Masters", they created that "oil painting" to seal the corresponding demigod-level creatures.

However, after being attacked by the Aurora Society and losing a lot of information, Dorian Gray was not sure how many terrifying creatures were still sealed in the "Devil's Oil Painting". He was only sure that there were still some, and more than one.

His original plan was to release a completely insane, demigod-level creature that acted entirely on instinct from the "Devil's Oil Painting" as the target of the student's ritual. This would be countless times easier than dealing with a rational and intelligent saint, and it completely met the requirements of the ritual. However, he did not expect that Fors was actually going to use the "Devil's Oil Painting" directly.

Dorian frowned and reminded:

"The 'Demon Oil Painting' itself only has the effect of imprisonment and sealing, and does not have the ability to actively affect the target. In other words, you have to stuff a demigod-level creature into the 'Demon Oil Painting' yourself."

Fors nodded, indicating that he knew this:

"Teacher, you said that the ability to 'record' oneself does not count as external help."

"Yes." Dorian Gray gave a very firm answer.

If one's own "recording" ability is considered external help, then almost no "Traveler" can be promoted. After all, "recording" is the most core ability before the "apprentice" path to demigod. Once it is "abolished", Fors will almost only be able to run, run, and run, and it will be difficult for him to do anything to the enemy.

"That's true in theory, but you can only record four or five demigod-level abilities at most..." Dorian said with some concern.

Before he finished speaking, he thought of Mr. Fool and his followers, and felt a little more at ease.

“If the combination is good, it is not impossible to succeed. It is just a crazy creature relying on instinct.” Fors was trying to convince the teacher as well as herself.

Dorian nodded imperceptibly, without saying anything else, and immediately summoned his contracted creature, the music-loving Malmos, and took back the main and auxiliary materials of the "Mystic", and prepared a bottle of "Mystic" potion for the student on the spot.

“If the seal cannot be completed, do not force it to be taken. Even if the potion and the glass bottle are mixed and become a sealed object, you can still pray to Mr. Fool to restore it to Beyonder characteristics.” Dorian still gave a somewhat worried reminder, and then handed the potion to Fors.

Inside the glass bottle, there were layers of starlight rippling, as if the Milky Way in the sky was collected into the potion.

"Yes." Fors nodded heavily, indicating that she would never worry about the potion being wasted.

She had already made a plan in advance. If the demigod-level creatures released could not be sealed, she would "teleport" away immediately and make a wish to Mr. Fool, asking Him to solve the problem.

Dorian then took out an oil painting from the suitcase in his hand. It depicted a series of rather abstract and incomprehensible patterns. Just looking at them for a while would make people dizzy, nauseous, and mentally weak.

This is none other than the "devil's oil painting" that contains countless terrifying creatures.

"If you can be promoted successfully, I have only one request." Dorian held up the "Devil's Oil Painting" and said to Fors solemnly, "That is, on a full moon night, listen to what Mr. Door is saying and ask him why he did that."

The members of Abraham's family still cannot fully accept that the curse they have suffered came from their ancestor, and feel that Mr. "Door" may not be aware of the consequences of his "call for help".

They are eager to get to the bottom of the whole matter.

"Okay." Faced with the teacher's plea, Fors agreed without hesitation.

Then, she took the "devil's oil painting" and "teleported" out of Pritz Harbor to a vast desert where no humans lived.

This way, even if something unexpected happens during the ceremony, she will have enough time to resolve it and it won't affect ordinary people.

After checking the surrounding scene and his own preparations, Fors inserted the "Devil's Painting" into the ground.

She immediately clasped her hands together, bowed her head and prayed to Mr. Fool, wishing that after taking the potion, her chances of success in promotion would increase.

Almost immediately, she saw the illusory gray mist and knew that Mr. Fool had responded.

After a few seconds of delay, Fors finally overcame himself, took out the pre-mixed herbal powder, and sprinkled it on the "Devil's Oil Painting".

Then she recited the spell to release the seal in Giant language.

This is a spell that releases only one creature at a time.

Silently, all the floating herbal powder fell on the oil painting and began to spin rapidly with one point as the center.

During the rotation, the surface of the painting becomes illusory, as if a deep vortex is also emerging.

Suddenly, a blue-black hand with signs of decay stretched out from the "vortex".

It extends from the oil painting to the outside world!

Fors' body suddenly became cold, as if she had fallen into a cracked lake after freezing.

This made her mind clear, but she seemed to lose the sense of her body. No matter how hard she tried to move her hands and feet, she was unable to succeed.

At this moment, Fors seemed to have returned to the state she used to be in when she wrote books at night and slept during the day. At that time, she often felt that she had woken up, but she couldn't move at all, as if she was being held down by an invisible creature.

Although the terrifying creature in the "devil's painting" had not yet completely escaped, its divinity's influence on the outside world had caused Fors to lose most of her resistance. When it completely broke away from the painting, Fors might even lose control because of looking directly at it.

The gap between the two sides is unimaginable on some levels.

Gradually, Fors's consciousness became a little blurred. She always thought she was awake, raised her arms, and took a step forward, but in a moment, she realized that it was just her own fantasy. Her body was getting colder and colder, and the feeling of being pressed by the invisible creature became more and more obvious.

Fortunately, she had a bunch of demigods who provided her with information, allowing her to close her eyes in time and not look at the "devil's oil painting" again, otherwise the consequences would be disastrous.

Using meditation techniques to stay awake, Fors began to count down in his mind.

——According to the hint given by Mr. "World", she knew that it would take five seconds for the horrible creature to completely escape from the "devil's oil painting".

4...3...2...When there was still one second left, an illusory book appeared in Fors's eyes. It flipped quickly and stopped at one page.

1! As soon as Fors finished counting silently, he suddenly opened his arms.

Around her, peach blossoms fell instantly, bright and colorful.

The dark blue hand that was about to grab her neck suddenly moved away from her, blocked by a peach forest with lush vegetation and blooming flowers, and separated by the mountain at the end of the water source in the forest. She could only try to reach out from a small cave.

This is the fairy tale magic that Fors "recorded" from the "Hermit" lady, called:

“The source of peach blossoms!”

It can create a barrier that is isolated from the outside world and difficult to connect to.

Seizing this opportunity, Fors, who had barely regained control of her body, took out a "Queen" chess piece from the Roselle chess bag and threw it towards the source of the peach blossoms, towards the cave with running water.

This is another fairy tale magic she "recorded", called:

"The chess game of years!"

Its function is to slow down the target's movements, as if it had entered an area where the speed of time flows differently.

Snap! As the "Queen" chess piece fell, the dark blue palm that was trying to break through the barrier of the "Peach Blossom Spring" suddenly changed from reaching out to wriggling.

Without even looking at the effect, Fors used his "invisible hand" to pick up the "devil's oil painting" stuck in the sand and blocked it towards the cave.

After just one or two seconds, the blue-black palm returned to normal, and its movements became extremely fast, rushing out of the Peach Blossom Spring and crashing into the oil painting.

As the painting shook, the horrible creature penetrated the surface and fell into it.

Fors was delighted and recited the spell again without hesitation, closing the outer seal of the "Devil's Oil Painting".

Fortunately, the demigod creature had been locked up and out of control, with only madness left but no wisdom... I don't know if I will be able to hear Mr. "Door"'s call directly after taking the potion... Fors still took out the bottle of "Mystic" potion with a tense mind and poured it into his mouth.
