Chapter 28: Dirty Words

The living room, lit only by a candle, was as silent as if frozen.

After several seconds, the man who seemed to be the "pharmacist" muttered:

"Why don't you leave your address? That way I can get something from your body."

It looks like a curse, but it’s actually advice... Klein pretended not to understand and looked at Black Snake and said:

"If I don't bet, there's no chance that I'll survive. If I bet, at least there's still a little hope."

"I will not sit and wait for death to come."

Hearing this, the old man "Wisdom Eyes" who was about to speak closed his mouth because he could not offer any other hope.

"I admire your character! Black Snake" laughed.

"I admire it, too. Several of my friends had this kind of personality. Every year I go to put a bouquet of flowers in front of their tombstones." The man who was suspected to be the "pharmacist" whispered in a way that was both explicit and sarcastic, but actually exhorting.

He didn't care that "Black Snake" was better at fighting than him, and said whatever he wanted to say.

Mr. Pharmacist must have suffered because of his temper... Klein secretly thanked him.

He handed the iron cigarette box containing the Hunter's extraordinary characteristics to the waiter who led him in, and watched the other party walk to the Eye of Wisdom.

The old man counted out 400 pounds in cash from the suitcase beside him and asked the waiter to give it to "Black Snake".

"Black Snake" took a casual look and said:

"I believe in Mr. Wisdom Eyes."

He took out a small wooden box from his arms, bent down and placed it on the ground, and pushed it hard, allowing the item to slide in front of Klein without passing the waiter.

As soon as Klein's fingers touched the surface of the box, he began to hear slight auditory hallucinations and felt dizzy due to the violent jolt.

For him, this was not something difficult to accept, and it was not even as difficult as the illusory voices brought about by the prayers of "Justice" and others.

After sitting up again, Klein carefully opened the wooden box and saw an "ear" inside!

The ear looked real, except that the skin was dark in color and had a few green spots of decay.

"How should I use it?" Klein asked.

Black Snake answered nonchalantly:

"You hold it without gloves, which is the same as using it. You'd better try it at home, when you are alone."

Klein didn't ask any more questions. He closed the box, put it in his pocket, and said with a wry smile:

“It makes people feel dizzy.”

After a brief silence, the man who seemed to be the "pharmacist" suddenly shouted:

"I want to buy the medullary crystal of the 'Fountain of Elves'. Who has it?"

The voice echoed in the **, and no one answered.

The "pharmacist" smacked his lower lip and muttered:

"Really? Every time I ask, there's no answer."

"Maybe you can book a boat ticket to Sonia Island. Eyes of Wisdom," the old man said jokingly with a smile.

The "Fountain of Elves" is also known as the "Sonia Golden Spring". The name tells you where it is produced. The water from the "Fountain of Elves" is common and is a spiritual thing, but the medullary crystals are extraordinary materials and are not so easy to buy.

Afterwards, several deals were aborted at the party, and the old man "Eyes of Wisdom" clapped his hands and said:

"That's all for today. As usual, leave one by one, three minutes apart."

They left one by one... three minutes apart from each other... were they afraid that someone would go out and follow or even rob other party members? Klein received the prompt from the Eye of Wisdom, stood up, and under the guidance of the waiter, he left the living room and came to the door.

He took off his hooded robe and returned it to the other party, then followed the path in his memory and returned to the back door of the "Brave Bar". Then he took off the iron mask, walked through the kitchen, and saw Caspers standing outside the card room amid the noise of barking dogs and people shouting.

"I'm glad you can come back." The red-nosed old man was obviously relieved, and the hideous wound on his face seemed to tremble.

Klein moved closer and lowered his voice:

“Will there be more gatherings like this in the future?”

"It seems you didn't get what you wanted. There's a storm ahead. I don't think you need to waste any more time." Caspers glanced at the troublesome customer and said, "Maybe it will take a few days. I don't know the details. Let's see if you can make it."

Klein nodded and asked:

"Is Maric here?"

"You want to try to convince him? No, that will only piss him off!" Caspers warned in a deep voice, "He's in the card room behind you."

No, I don’t plan to convince him. Instead, I want to stay away from him as much as possible to prevent his zombies from rebelling... Klein touched the Azik copper whistle in his pocket and said:

"I see."

He immediately left the Brave Bar and walked around the one-bedroom apartment in the East District before returning to Minsk Street.

Inside the card room, Maric put all his chips in and turned over his hole cards with confidence.

He had three kings and a pair of nines, and the zombie opposite him had a pair of sixes and an eight.

Suddenly, the zombie took the initiative to show his cards, a pair of 6s!

In this round, four 6s win!

Maric, with a pale face, stood there in a daze, and then he felt that all the zombies around him were looking at him coldly.

A few minutes later, he left the card room with unsteady steps and almost fell at the door, while his subordinates who usually surrounded him fell to the ground inside the room.

"Don't let anyone in before dawn today." Maric looked at the stunned Caspers and ordered hoarsely.

He took out a white handkerchief and wiped the corner of his mouth, which quickly became stained with a faint blue and red color.

After receiving Kaspers' affirmative answer, Maric found a chair to sit down, ordered a bucket of Southwell beer, and drank it with his eyes fixed, in a daze for a long time.

…………

At 15 Minsk Street, Klein washed up as usual, returned to his room, and drew the curtains.

After waiting for more than ten minutes and confirming that there were indeed no spiritual light spots around, he began to summon himself and respond to himself, carrying the black ear and the wooden box into the mysterious space above the gray fog.

Illusory crimson stars dotted the ground below, without the slightest flicker. Klein sat at the head of the ancient long table and opened the wooden box.

This time, he did not have auditory hallucinations nor did he feel dizzy. The endless gray fog seemed to block out all external sounds.

Klein heaved a sigh of relief and gained more confidence in the next attempt, especially in terms of safety.

He blocked his hearing with a thought and did several experiments to confirm the effect.

Not bad... Klein nodded with satisfaction. He reached out and grabbed the black ear that showed signs of decay.

The cold and slippery touch entered his brain, but he did not hear the voice of the great existence described by the "Black Snake".

“Completely isolated? This won’t work… Just using it won’t work…” Klein wondered to himself, thinking about how to stimulate the effect.

Ten or so seconds later, he materialized paper and pen, intending to imitate the previous process of peeking at the "Eternal Blazing Sun".

That time, he used divine blood to look directly at the Eternal Blazing Sun. This time, he only used the items left by the Listener. It must not be that dangerous... Klein wrote down the divination statement with certainty:

"The origin of this item."

He took a breath, held the black ear, leaned back, and silently recited the divination words.

After seven times, his eyes turned dark and he fell into a deep sleep.

In the blurry, broken, and gray world, Klein saw a man struggling on the ground. He rolled over and screamed, his eyes bulged out, his body swelled up like a balloon, and countless hairs turned black and long.

Immediately afterwards, a voice that was extremely evil and filthy reached Klein's ears, waking him up instantly.

Different from the mumbling and roaring before entering the mysterious space above the gray fog, this sound was more penetrating, more purposeful, and more proactive!

Klein covered his ears to block out the rest, but the voice from before was still echoing in his mind.

He saw his blood vessels and veins bulging out, as if they had turned into wriggling, thick poisonous snakes.

Bang!

His blood vessels burst and blue veins separated from his body, spreading outward into slippery tentacles filled with evil patterns. The gray mist swayed slightly, causing the palace that looked like a giant's residence to show a few signs of corrosion.

Unlike the time with the Eternal Sun, Klein still had some sanity left. Instead of rolling on the ground, he held on to the handrail tightly and endured it.

After a few seconds, the swaying gray fog calmed down, and the evil voice that was echoing in Klein's mind completely subsided.

The "tentacles" fell off one by one, and his wounds began to heal rapidly.

“Dealing with gods is really a dangerous thing, no matter which method is used... Fortunately, I didn’t face the ‘True Creator’ directly this time, otherwise the madness and loss of control would probably remain a little and affect my body in the real world...” Klein leaned weakly against the back of his chair and laughed at himself silently.

This process was basically within his expectations and the overall process was not beyond his control.

The only thing that surprised him was that the "True Creator" seemed to be stronger than the "Eternal Blazing Sun"...

Just as Klein's thoughts were about to wander, he saw the black ear in his palm suddenly collapse and turn into tiny, light black dots of light.

Returning to the pure Beyonder characteristics? Klein was puzzled. From the corner of his eye, he saw the twitching tentacles with evil patterns on the ground. They were the madness and loss of control that had been stripped away from him.

These tentacles gradually become transparent and are about to disappear.

Klein suddenly had an idea and sprinkled the tiny dark dots of light in his palm toward the slippery tentacles.

The illusory black gas rose up and turned into a sky with constant flashes of lightning, and the background was extremely dark.

All of this quickly disappeared from Klein's sight, and a piece of iron-black talisman with many symbolic symbols, magical signs, evil patterns, and distorted spiritual numbers appeared on the ground.

Klein bent down to pick it up, only to feel that there seemed to be a crazy person who was screaming inside.

With the help of divination skills, he barely interpreted the purpose of this talisman from the revelation, which was to let the opponent listen to the terrible roar and be infected with madness. As for what the final result will be, it depends on the target's ability to resist in this regard. If it is strong, it may gain benefits, but the price is to become a devout believer of the "true creator". If it is weak, it will collapse on the spot and die screaming.

“Let’s call it ‘Filthy Words’…” Klein whispered and set the opening spell. 8)
