Chapter 32 The Holy Word

Although Klein had been in the God-Forsaken Land for less than a week, he had already gained sufficient understanding of this place through the little "sun". He knew that normal humans, even saints, had to use fire to create light when walking in the dark, otherwise they would easily be attacked by dangerous monsters lurking in the depths of darkness, or be secretly swallowed up, disappearing silently and never to be found again.

At this time, the old clergyman did not carry the animal skin lantern. He walked slowly through the mist in the darkness and entered the church illuminated by the dim light of the lantern.

If it weren't for his deep and calm eyes without a hint of madness, Klein's first reaction would definitely be that he had encountered a special monster.

Of course, this normal human-like state and the performance of being immersed in darkness are so contradictory that any creature with a standard IQ can easily come to the conclusion that this person may be more terrifying than a special monster.

Klein had only seen one person who could walk through the darkness without being affected and who had enough wisdom and spirituality:

Amon the Blasphemer!

Feeling the dim light shining on his face, the tall old man in a dark clergy robe and with a slightly hunched back stopped and looked at Klein next to the magic wolf statue. He asked in a hoarse voice:

"Where did the owner of this city-state go?"

Klein is the kind of person who would try to resolve problems peacefully if possible without fighting with strangers. He was on high alert and answered calmly:

"I just entered this city, and I don't know where its owner has gone."

As soon as he finished speaking, the entire church suddenly dimmed, and a thin mist rushed in from outside like a tide, flooding the interior.

The light from the lantern in Klein's hand could no longer illuminate the windows and doorways. The outside world was pitch black and nothing else could be seen.

In a flash, the church enshrining the magic wolf statue seemed to be isolated from the ancient city of Noth, and its location was unknown.

Klein's pupils suddenly dilated slightly. He looked at the clergyman with wrinkles all over his face and white hair, and asked in a deep voice:

"Who are you?"

The hunched clergyman replied with a condescending attitude:

"I am the servant beside the Lord's throne, the Holy Word Angel Stifo. I walk in this past land on behalf of the Lord, chasing after the blasphemers hiding in the darkness."

As he spoke, the old man's figure suddenly swelled to four meters in height, and dark illusory feathers appeared behind him. Their light and shadow intertwined to form four pairs of deep but sacred wings.

The "Angel of the Word" Stiver... the attendant beside the main throne... the land of the past... this is the favored one of the "True Creator", the subordinate of the "Angel of Destiny", and a member of the "Redemption Rose"? No wonder he can walk in the dark, because he is protected by the power of "fallen"... Is the evil god still looking for the extraordinary characteristics of the "secret attendant"? Klein had to raise his head and look at Stiver, who was still wearing a black clergy robe but had grown four pairs of angel wings. This high-ranking being still had obvious wrinkles in his angelic state, his hair was dry and white, and there were many contradictions all over his body.

Klein pretended that he had never been an enemy of the Aurora Society and spoke calmly:

"That blasphemer has already fled, and I am looking for him too."

The Holy Word Angel Stifo stared at Klein for two seconds and asked in a low voice:

"Who are you?"

It’s hard to say this directly... Klein sighed and laughed:

“I am a lone traveler.”

After he gave this answer, he suddenly felt an extremely dark self emerging in his body, sinking downwards and merging with the shadow created by the lantern light.

The dark figure then twisted and "came to life", stretching into another Gehrman Sparrow, a Gehrman Sparrow with sinister eyes and a lonely temperament.

This... Klein's eyes narrowed, and without hesitation, he stretched out his right hand to the side and grabbed out of thin air.

At this point, if he hadn't guessed that Stiver was using his "answer", he could have joined the Aurora Society and believed in the "True Creator".

At this moment, he already knew what the "Angel of the Holy Word" was.

This is clearly the "Angel of Evil"!

Make use of the other party's answer, intercept part of it or expand the ambiguity, and create a spiritual effect!

When Crane says that he doesn't know where the owner of this city has gone, Stiver intercepts "I don't know where to go", causing Crane to trap himself and isolate himself from the outside world;

As this angel spoke his identity, each word increased his level and power;

When Klein answered who he was, a "lone traveler" self was separated out.

From the moment he appeared in the ancient city of Noth, Stifer, dressed in a black clergy robe, carried a strong malice!

Just as Klein tried to summon an image from the pores of history, the sinister Gehrman Sparrow seemed to have a telepathic connection with him and also grabbed the same projection, and the two canceled each other out.

Seeing that the ability of the "Ancient Scholar" was restrained, Klein's eyes fixed, and he opened his mouth without hesitation and read a word in Giant language.

But the next second, the word was stolen.

The nearly four-meter-tall, hunchbacked "Angel of the Word" Stephen had a blood-covered head growing out of his left shoulder at some point. The head looked very similar to Stephen, but was a lot younger, seemingly only in his forties.

Around this head, there are two skinless, bloody arms. They herd different souls and use their extraordinary ability to steal thoughts and ideas.

At the same time, a bloody head grew out of Stiver's right shoulder, and he looked to be only twenty years old.

Of these three heads, one was herding souls and stealing Klein's ideas. One was staring at the target indifferently, deepening the self-awareness of the "lone traveler". One was opening and closing its mouth and saying:

“You’re lying!

“You are a blasphemer who destroyed the birth ceremony of the Son of God and interfered with the Lord’s coming to the world twice!

"You are one of the targets I am looking for!"

The corners of Klein's mouth twitched slightly, and then he calmly uttered a word in Giant language:

"Leodro!"

This is the true name of the "Lord of the Storm"!

The reason why Klein's idea was not stolen was because he arranged the things he was going to do next into a queue. The queue was full of the same content, and the theft of the first part did not affect his ability to follow the ideas behind it.

This was the valuable experience he gained from his confrontation with Amon.

Of course, if he met Amon again, Klein suspected that similar methods might not work. Once the "God of Mischief" was on guard, he would definitely come up with new tricks.

As soon as Klein finished speaking, bright silver-white lightning flashed in the eyes of the "Angel of the Holy Word" Stifer.

They covered the entire ancient city of Nos, pierced through the darkness shrouding the church, and tore apart all the depravity, secrecy, darkness, uncleanness, and evil.

Inside, Klein and the sinister Gehrman Sparrow were at the core of the thunderstorm, and they disintegrated without a single sound.

Then, the silver-white, twisted, wantonly and terrifying electric snake engulfed the surrounding area, engulfed the demon wolf statue, and engulfed the "Angel of the Holy Word" Stiver.

Amidst the dull roar of explosions, the ancient city of Norse collapsed completely and became a true ruin.

On the other side of the dry riverbed, Klein's historical projection quickly faded, and his real body returned to the real world.

Then, Klein performed a series of "flame jumps" to distance himself from the ruins of Noth. During this process, he pulled out paper figures several times and shook them into "angels" to eliminate any traces.

The desolate plain returned to silence again. After an unknown amount of time, the ruins of the church shook, and Steve shook off the dust and stones and slowly stood up.

His all-white hair had become thinner, and his dark clergy robes had become tattered.

The "Angel of the Holy Word" left the ancient city of Nox in silence, determined the direction, and walked into the depths of darkness.

Half a day later, a figure approached the city-state ruins from another direction. It was Klein who had made a long circle from a distance.

He had not had time to check the ancient city of Noth before, so he returned now in the hope of finding clues to the true whereabouts of the original being.

Farther away, Klein repeated the process of entering the gray fog to observe, summoning historical projections, hiding in ancient fragments, and using historical projections to summon historical projections again.

After completing the preliminary preparations, he once again set foot in North and returned to the church in absolute silence.

Along the way, the bodies that fell to the ground either turned into ashes or left only a piece of charred coal, completely losing that sense of horror and weirdness.

“That guy named Stif is not dead... It seems that the remaining storm power here can only injure an angel..." Klein stopped at the ruins of the opened church and muttered to himself with a little regret.

Of course, he was just a little regretful and did not expect to be able to deal with an angel so easily.

As his eyes swept across, Klein saw several remaining fragments of the demon wolf statue.

They are dark black on the surface and dark red inside, unlike ordinary stones.

"The stones that the Dark Wolf used to carve its own statue must be very special. Moreover, they don't seem to be from the surrounding area... Perhaps by tracing their origins, we can find out where the Dark Wolf hid before coming to the ancient city of Norse... As a 'miracle artist' or even a 'secret servant', the Dark Wolf must be good at erasing traces. It's difficult to track its whereabouts directly, but if I can find most of the places where it hid before, I can get a glimpse of its habits and style...

"If you know a person's past, you can predict his future!" Klein took two steps forward thoughtfully, bent down, and tried to pick up a piece of the statue fragment.

At this moment, a hand with a charred surface suddenly stretched out and blocked his fingers.

From the corner of his eye, Klein saw that a nearby corpse that had turned into charcoal had stood up at some point!

The charred corpse held a crystal monocle in its other hand and wore it on its left eye.

Amon! Left eye... Klein's heart tightened at first, and then he felt strong doubts and suspicions.

The next second, the charred corpse smiled and said:

"Sorry, I put it on the wrong place."

As it spoke, it took off the monocle and moved it to its right eye.
