Chapter 6 “Spring”

“Lord of Time and Space”, “Beacon of Destiny”, “Incarnation of Sefirah Castle”, “Ruler of the Spirit World”, “Lord of Mysteries”… The “mystery” mentioned by the ancient sun god refers to the “Lord of Mysteries”… Klein silently recited those titles and felt that the shadow in his heart had grown a lot bigger.

He immediately thought of a question and hesitated before saying:

"As far as I know, 'Fusheng Xuanhuang Tianzun' had already appeared long before the end of the last civilization."

After the seven lights looked at each other, the thin and translucent "Yellow Light" Venitan sighed and said:

“We don’t know this. When the last civilization ended and the ‘first’ awakened, the previous seven lights were wiped out. We are the pure light that was reborn in the spirit world in the first era.

"However, we have some guesses about the 'Great Lord of the Spirit World', which may answer your questions, Your Highness."

Klein perked up and immediately put on a posture of listening attentively.

"Yellow Light" Venitan continued:

"We suspect that some of the 'Old Ones' active in the First Age were Outer Gods that were directly sucked onto this planet, and some were activated by the source matter. In other words, some of the 'Old Ones' are equal to the 'Original', and are the embodiment of different personalities that He split off.

"Whatever separates must come together, and what comes together must separate. This not only describes the extraordinary characteristics, but also refers to the 'Origin' itself. Because most of the source substances and characteristics come from this supreme being, there is a natural tendency to gather and reorganize. The 'Origin' is the collection of all the contradictions in the universe. After the source substances and characteristics gather, they will inevitably split."

Is this the essence and origin of the Beyonder Characteristics Aggregation Law? Is the "Djinn" an Outer God who was unlucky enough to be sucked into this world and encounter the "Lord of Mysteries"? Klein nodded slightly, without interrupting, and patiently waited for "Yellow Light" to give their guess.

Venitan, who was wearing a lemon yellow robe, glanced at Klein and said:

"Perhaps, the 'original' tendency to split existed when He was asleep, so His spirit split into different parts, secretly interfering with the real world with different titles, preparing for the split when His main body awakens, such as 'God', 'Tianzun'..."

This reasonable guess can explain many of my doubts... Klein suddenly felt enlightened.

He considered for a moment and said:

"In other words, you believe that the 'great master above the spiritual world' is part of 'the beginning' and can be equal to 'the beginning' to some extent?"

"That's right." "Orange Light" Hilarion gave an affirmative response, and then comforted Klein, "Based on the current situation, the great master is just like the other parts of the 'Origin'. His will and power have faded over time. Whether Your Highness is Him or not, it does not prevent you from making certain resistance, retaining your current humanity, and achieving a certain balance with Him. Haha, separation is an inevitable law."

What kind of comfort is this? Klein couldn't help but complain in his heart.

Then he realized a problem:

"Since the 'original' spirit was split into different parts, the spiritual imprints in the bodies of the corresponding high-sequence Beyonders should also belong to different 'old days'.

"If the one awakening in the Ancient Sun God is the 'Origin', the 'God' that Qi Guang just described, then who is the 'Original' spiritual imprint that is beginning to become active in my body and is causing the erosion pointing to?"

The answer to this question is obvious, and Klein can come up with it without thinking:

The "Lord of Mysteries", "Ruler of the Spirit World", "Fushengxuanhuang Tianzun"!

In other words, "Fusheng Xuanhuang Tianzun" did not leave no trace as he thought, and He has already awakened in Klein's body!

Fuck... Klein felt a chill all over his body, and he inexplicably experienced what the ancient sun god felt.

At this moment, he was very worried that one day he would unknowingly become another person, becoming the resurrected "Lord of Mysteries" and "Fusheng Xuanhuang Tianzun".

However, this level of awakening seems to be similar to what other angels encounter, not as strong and irresistible as I imagined... Is this because I am different from the ancient sun god. I was not "born" with the status of an angel, or even mastered "uniqueness". I was promoted step by step and completed the digestion in stages? If this is true, I have to thank the gray mist that cast the "curtain" into the God-forsaken Land. Perhaps, this was helped by someone or someone... Well, it's still not right. I have become the master of "Source Castle". It doesn't make sense that the erosion and pollution I encounter are the same as other Sequence 2 angels... Klein shook his head secretly and didn't ask Qi Guang the corresponding question.

For him, this is one of his core secrets, and he must never let other beings know what his current state is like.

He then raised his right hand, put it to his mouth, and coughed softly:

"I think I understand."

After discussing other issues with Qi Guang, Klein stood up and saluted:

“Thank you for your answers.”

"It is our honor. May Your Highness return to the throne of 'the Great Ruler of the Spirit World' soon." The seven lights stood up at the same time and responded in a friendly manner.

Are you cursing me to death? Klein joked to himself and politely sent away the seven rays of light.

Then, he activated the "teleportation" again and returned to a secluded alley in Backlund.

Clicking his hat on his head, Klein strolled out onto the street.

The first thing that caught his eye was the people in various states and the noise that formed a heat wave.

He saw some people wearing linen clothes, working in groups of three or five, cutting down unusually tall trees with saws and other tools; some people formed teams, busy repairing the houses on the street that had not suffered much damage; some people hurried past him with Dixie pies and sweet iced tea in their hands, seemingly rushing to their jobs; some people drove horse-drawn carts, carrying grain, meat and vegetables to different places...

Although most of these people were wearing simple clothes with traces of patching, and their faces still showed some numbness and pain, the vitality bursting out of their bodies seemed to interweave into a light of hope in front of Klein's eyes, tenaciously exuding the vigor of life.

They are like the green grasses that try to push away the stones after the cold winter.

Klein slowed down his pace and stared deeply at the lively scene.

Although he did not see the miserable world in the later stages of the war with his own eyes, he heard many details from Miss Justice and Leonard. Moreover, he had previously traveled in the darker and more depressing God-forsaken Land, so it was inevitable that he would have some uncontrollable feelings at this time.

Spring is here.

Klein's expression gradually relaxed, and the corners of his mouth curled up slightly.

He walked through the streets and alleys that were being rebuilt after the war and arrived at St. Samuel's Church in the North District.

The square here is full of potholes and workers are doing preliminary cleaning. A small number of white pigeons have returned from somewhere and landed in the once familiar area.

Klein looked around but couldn't find any vendors, so he took some food from the historical projection and threw it on the ground.

As white doves flew in one after another, he crossed the square, entered the church whose bell tower was under repair, and sat in the front row of the large prayer hall.

After looking at the holy emblem of a red moon surrounded by stars, Klein took off his hat, clasped his hands, and closed his eyes in the peaceful and quiet environment.

His emotions gradually settled, and he felt like he was really praying.

At this time, Leonard, whose black hair had grown longer and whose green eyes had deepened, came in from the front door wearing a black windbreaker and red gloves, walked along the aisle to his side, sat down on a chair two seats away from him, and began to pray.

In absolute silence, Klein opened his eyes, stood up, put on his hat, and walked past Leonard.

When he was about to reach the door, Leonard slowly stood up and followed behind him.

The two of them walked one after the other and soon arrived at a corner of the square outside.

Leonard looked at the few white pigeons on the ground and said as if he was talking to himself:

"I am already a senior deacon of the Nightwatchers. In two days I will return to the temple to study for a while and receive the corresponding holy relics."

In the final stage of the war, he was promoted on the front line and became a Sequence 4 "Night Watcher".

"You don't seem too happy." Klein, who was standing side by side with Leonard, did not turn his head and also looked at the white dove.

Leonard laughed at himself and said:

“I have no right to be unhappy.

"I was just wondering, the God War ended so quickly, and the result was unexpected. Does this mean that the previous defeat and the difficulties everyone suffered were just bait?"

"Before today, I thought the same as you. I was confused and resentful. But now, I am a little confused. Perhaps this is a necessity." Klein did not hide his feelings.

Leonard was silent for two seconds, looking down at the white doves hovering around him and said:

"That's what the old man said..."

Without waiting for Klein to say anything else, he turned his head to glance at his former colleague and said:

"You have become an angel?"

Pales Zoroast had told him that what Klein had done before seemed to be preparation for his promotion to an angel.

“Yes.” Klein nodded slightly. “But this is not glory and power, but pain, curse, and responsibility.”

"Why?" Leonard asked subconsciously.

Klein didn't answer immediately. He lowered his head, glanced at the shadow at his feet, then turned and walked towards the exit of the square.

After a few steps, he turned his back to Leonard and said to himself:

“You should still remember that sentence.

"We are the guardians, but we are also the poor creatures who are always fighting against danger and madness."

Leonard was stunned for a moment, and after a few seconds he turned sideways to look at Klein, but he could only see the back of the other person wearing a half-top hat and a black windbreaker as he was about to disappear around the corner of the street.

With a whoosh, several white pigeons on the ground flew up into the light blue sky.
