Chapter 66: Patience Pays Off

Silver City, top of the round tower, chief room.

Colin Iliad, with gray hair and old scars on his face, looked out the window into the deep darkness until a sharp silver light suddenly burst out in the distance, bringing a few seconds of light. He then retracted his gaze and nodded gently, saying:

"Hillmon was successfully promoted..."

His eyes immediately fell on the young man who was only a little over two meters tall standing in the middle of the room:

"Derrick, do you know why after my first exploration of the Giant King's Court, I, who had become a Sequence 3 Silver Knight, kept my subsequent plans on hold and did not implement them?"

Derrick thought for a moment and said:

"Your Excellency, on the one hand, you want to see if there is another way to get to the seaside, and on the other hand, you are waiting for someone from the other elders of the Six-Man Council to advance to Sequence 3."

Now, both of these things are accomplished:

Nearly five months ago, an exploration team from the City of Silver discovered a hidden path that bypassed the mountain where the Giant King's Court was located and reached the seashore. However, the sea was illusory and impossible to pass through. Forcing one into the water would only cause the body to gradually disintegrate.

Now, another demigod of the "Six-Man Council", Weite Hillmon, has finally been promoted to become a Sequence 3 "Silver Knight". He can have his own honorific name and respond to the prayers of other residents of the City of Silver within a certain range.

Colin Iliad sighed and said:

“Very good, a very clear and comprehensive understanding of the matter.

"If there is no other way, I really don't want to take you into the 'Giant King's Court' again and try to open the palace where the 'Dark Angel' is sleeping..."

At this point, Demon Hunter Colin paused before continuing:

"I don't know how dangerous this exploration will be, so I can only make adequate preparations in advance. Now, Hillmon has finally succeeded. Even if something unexpected happens and we can't return, he and the other elders can support Silver City and keep everything going until the next opportunity."

He looked at Derrick for a few seconds, nodded in agreement and said:

"You have grown better than I expected. If the Giant King's Court incident had not been caused by you, I would really like to keep you in Silver City as a candidate elder for the Six-Man Council."

Hearing this, Derrick Berg answered without hesitation:

"Even if you want to keep me in Silver City, I will apply to go."

This was the light he saw, and in his mind, it was an opportunity to save Silver City, and he was willing to give everything for it.

Colin Iliad rarely smiled:

"You are still too young. When you have experienced many things like I have, you will understand that compared to drawing a sword, sacrificing with passion, enduring humiliation and helplessness, and holding on in the darkness, it is more difficult and more painful.

"If you don't believe me, you can go ask Hillmon later whether he is willing to lead the exploration team to the Giant King's Court or stay in the City of Silver."

Derrick fell silent. He opened his mouth but no words came out.

Colin Iliad did not continue the topic and asked:

"Has your 'Priest of Light' potion been completely digested?"

“I completely digested it last week,” Derrick answered calmly.

Colin Eliat nodded and said:

"Have you collected all the supplementary materials?"

Derrick said, “Hmm.”

"We have collected everything, except for the ceremony."

His ritual required stripping away the strongest and most reluctant emotions and infusing them back after taking the potion.

After several discussions at the Tarot Club and Miss Justice's private attempts, a mature plan has been developed:

With the help of this Sequence 4 Manipulator’s control over the mental realm, this was accomplished using Mr. Fool’s Angel’s Embrace.

Demon Hunter Colin did not urge him and said calmly:

"Don't worry, the second exploration of the 'Giant King's Court' will take some time."

"Wait until I become 'No Darkness'?" Derrick asked.

Colin Iliad did not deny it and nodded slightly.

"We are also waiting for Lovia to become the 'Black Knight'. Her materials and rituals are already prepared."

Hearing this, Derrick suddenly felt pressured.

…………

The top of the bell tower attached to the Church of the Waves in Bayam, the "City of Generosity", the capital of the Rorsted Archipelago.

The Cardinal of the Church of the Storm, the Senior Deacon of the "Made in Punishment", and the "Sea King" Yan Cotman stood behind the railing, looking at the sea that was no longer so blue, and the wreckage of the ship floating on it with flames.

"Hmph, in my territorial waters, even the 'War Bishop' has to bow his head..." The demigod with well-defined muscles and hard and deep facial lines whispered as he looked away.

He has dark blue hair as thick as a bug and a pair of deep blue eyes, and controls the weather and ocean around the Rorsted Archipelago.

Alger Wilson, who was standing next to the "Sea King", showed no sign of annoyance and waited patiently for Yann Kottman to turn his attention to him.

——In addition to being mostly violent, the Beyonders of the “Sailor” Path also have a common feature of trembling and obeying when facing those in higher positions on the same Path. This stems from the characteristics of the “Tyrant”.

After whispering, Sea King Yann Cotman finally turned his gaze to Alger, who was leading a fleet of pirates, and said expressionlessly:

"Your performance was very good this time. The Cardinals' Conference approved your review and decided to let me preside over your promotion ceremony."

After receiving the relics of the "Queen of Disasters" Cosinamu, Alger found an opportunity to report the matter to the "Sea King" Yan Cotman.

He started by talking about his search for the elves' remains in the primeval forest of Sonia Island, and described his experiences in detail, only changing two details:

One is that they took the initiative to go to the elf ruins and said that they were a force that was setting up an ambush on the Feysac people and were looking for a suitable place. This was confirmed by many sailors who were present at the time.

Secondly, the autonomy of his subsequent actions was downplayed, only saying that he dreamed of a female superior elf on the night of exploring the elven ruins and drank a glass of wine from her. Nothing unusual happened afterwards, so he didn't take it too seriously. When he arrived at the Rorsted Archipelago, he woke up from a deep sleep one night and suddenly found himself in a magnificent palace under the sea and picked up a coral that was glowing with electricity.

Although there were many witnesses and physical evidences that Alger's description was true, "Sea King" Yan Cotman did not completely believe it and sent him back to Pasu Island to be examined by Pope Gad II.

With the help of the "Angel's Embrace", Alger seemed to tremble in front of the "tyrant"-like aura, and confessed without reservation that after meeting the female superior elf in his dream, he developed certain ambitions and took the initiative to go to the Rorsted Islands in the hope of receiving the inheritance, but in fact he covered up the most core secret and the most serious problem.

He passed the review by confessing his "ambition". As for whether the female superior elf gave him the adventure because she saw that he had some elven blood, or whether she had some hidden purpose, he said he was not sure and hoped that His Holiness the Pope could find the answer so that he could feel at ease.

Alger displayed a fear of the unknown, leading the cardinals to believe that this was the main reason he reported his encounter.

This plan was designed by Alger himself, but he also received advice from Miss Justice, making every link more humane.

Of course, as expected, Alger did not wait for the promotion ceremony after that, but entered a probation period.

——The Pope of the Church of Storms, the angel on earth, strengthened the seal in Alger's body, preventing the "Disaster Priest" attribute from seeping out and affecting him for two years.

During the past six months, Alger led the pirate fleet assigned to him, working hard to harass the ships of Feysac and Feynaport, and even directly participated in naval battles. He took considerable risks and made contributions time and time again, fully demonstrating his piety to the Lord of Storms and his obedience to the orders of the church.

Finally, after the recent Battle of Rorsted, when the situation became increasingly difficult, he received the approval of the Cardinals' Conference.

Alger took a deep breath, then punched his left chest with his right fist and shouted:

"Storm is above!"

His excitement was partly a performance and partly from the heart, because he had been under a lot of pressure for the past six months:

Ms. Hermit has digested the Mystic Potion and is preparing to advance to Sequence 3 Master of Prophecy.

Although Miss Justice has not yet completely digested the Manipulator potion, she has made considerable progress. Moreover, when she first joined the Tarot Club, she was a complete newcomer, but now she has become a true demigod, not just one sequence higher than Alger, but a level.

It won't be long before the "Sun" is promoted to Sequence 4 "No Darkness" and gains divinity.

"Xingxing" has also digested the Sequence 5 potion and accumulated a lot of merits, and is just waiting for the upper level to give him a chance;

After traveling again and again, the Magician was not far from digesting the potion, and her teacher prepared the corresponding sequence 4 "Mystic" potion materials for her;

Needless to say, even if the World Gehrman Sparrow suddenly said that he had become an angel, Alger would not be surprised;

Miss Judgment is currently a Sequence 5 Punishment Knight, and is currently digesting the potion, trying to catch up with everyone else's progress.

"Moon", who doesn't like to fight, has developed some anxiety and is seeking the possibility of becoming a vampire count.

Faced with these situations, Alger, as one of the most senior members of the Tarot Club, certainly did not want to be left behind. He was eager to be promoted to Sequence 4 and become a demigod.

Over the past few days, he has been suppressing his anxiety and patiently waiting. He showed signs of losing control twice, so he had to ask Miss Justice for treatment.

And now, he finally got the answer he wanted most:

Pass the assessment and prepare for the ceremony!
