Chapter 7 Klein's Sacrifice Ceremony

Try? Audrey Justice suddenly became excited and nodded gracefully.

"I'm happy to cooperate."

As a “spectator”, she clearly remembered that Mr. Fool had only used the word “try” in two things: one was when he pulled her and The Hanged Man into this mysterious space, and the other was when he gave the Honorable Name and asked the two of them to try to pray. Both times, the results were successful enough and revealed some of His essence.

What will this attempt be? It's really exciting! Audrey restrained her impatience and tried her best to be a qualified "audience".

Try... The Hanged Man Alger's mind suddenly tensed up, and he was wary of The Fool's suggestion.

What does He want to do? What is His real purpose? Is this good or bad for me? Thoughts came and went, and Alger's mind was filled with the image of Lieutenant General Hurricane Qilingos decaying rapidly when he died.

Finally, he lowered his head and answered respectfully:

"Your wish is my wish."

The Sun Derrick looked at the Hanged Man and then at Justice, wondering why they were so sensitive about the so-called "attempt".

Klein paused as he tapped the edge of the bronze table. He smiled and said,

“This attempt will make your transactions simple and secure, and sufficiently confidential.”

He tilted his head slightly, looked at the Hanged Man, and said in a neither fast nor slow manner:

"Do you remember the sacrificial ceremony described by 'The Sun'?"

Klein mentioned this matter deliberately to show his frankness and make it difficult for the members of the Tarot Club to imagine that the sacrificial ritual he was about to provide was derived from the description of the "sun", and that he had gone to so much trouble to deceive a template for a sacrificial ritual.

"I remember. I've come across this kind of thing before." Alger answered honestly, but he felt a little uneasy inside.

Since orthodox gods rarely respond to similar rituals, since the Fifth Age, the word "sacrifice" has often been equated with evil gods and demons!

Thinking that this might lead to some terrible consequences, the "Hanged Man" felt that he was walking on the edge of an abyss, and if he was not careful he would fall in and be corroded and eaten.

Klein followed the planned plan and did not explain too much. He nodded slightly and said:

"My idea is that you sacrifice the extraordinary materials to me through the ritual, and I will then bestow upon Miss Justice. This form of transaction will be beneficial to both of you."

Is this possible? Audrey was stunned, thinking this was beyond her imagination.

But she soon came to her senses and figured out the advantages of this method and the divine nature hidden beneath the seemingly simple operation!

Mr. Fool is awesome! Our Tarot Club is indeed different from other secret organizations! We use the methods of the gods to exchange supplies and materials! Audrey almost habitually said "Praise the Goddess" in her heart, but in the end she changed it to praise Mr. Fool.

Alger became more alert and entered a mode of calm thinking:

"Dear Mr. Fool, what should I do?"

He tried to analyze the real purpose of "The Fool" from the process of the sacrificial ceremony.

Klein pressed his right hand lightly and said:

"I said, this is just an attempt, it may not succeed, so I need your cooperation."

"First, you prepare an altar. It doesn't have to be complicated. It can be simple. The only requirement is to engrave or draw the symbol."

As he spoke, a curtain of light materialized in front of him. On it was a mysterious pattern composed of the "Eye without Pupil" that symbolizes secrecy and the "Twisted Line" that symbolizes change. It was the same pattern on the back of the Fool's high-back chair.

After previous experiments without spiritual materials, Klein determined that the sacrificial ritual he designed could create an illusory gate above the gray fog, similar to the Gate of Summoning. However, his own power was not enough to build a stable channel, so he could not use it to call upon the special properties of the mysterious space above the gray fog to complete the sacrifice.

Therefore, he was ninety percent sure that the ritual would eventually succeed. The only question was, could the passage be constructed with ordinary spiritual materials, or would extraordinary materials, sufficient extraordinary materials, be required?

Let Miss Justice and Mr. Hanged Man bear the cost of this experiment... After all, they knew from the beginning that the Tarot Club itself was a product of an experiment, and that other attempts in the future were foreseeable. It was inevitable that attempts would fail, even for gods... Klein decided to pass on the cost.

As The Hanged Man, Justice, and Sun tried to memorize the symbol, Klein chuckled and said:

"If you forget, you can pray to me, and then you will be able to 'remember'."

"Okay!" Audrey replied briskly.

With Mr. Fool, rituals are no longer tiring or troublesome! She thought happily.

Seeing The Hanged Man nod, Klein continued to describe:

"Secondly, follow the normal procedure, but there is no need to burn the herbs or apply the holy oils. There is no need to choose a specific time. Reciting my name is enough."

"Remember, recite it in ancient Hermetic language or Giant language, and follow the following prayer:"

"Your faithful servant begs your gaze;"

"I pray that you will accept his offering;"

“Please open the gates of your kingdom.”

"After reciting, combine the spiritual material with the vibration of natural power caused by the spell, and wait for my response."

"If this step fails, change the spiritual material to extraordinary material and try again from the beginning."

The Hanged Man listened quietly and felt that his previous guess was probably close to the truth:

The Fool is in a bit of a pickle!

He gave suggestive attempts, and made them step by step, hoping to use himself, "justice" and "the sun" to slowly break free from the shackles. In the end, He might come to the real world!

This was also His real purpose in bringing people into this mysterious space and agreeing to establish the Tarot Club!

Even without the previous speculation, after hearing about this trial-and-error sacrificial ritual and comparing it with previous attempts, Alger believed that he would come to the same conclusion.

The only thing he couldn’t understand was that Mr. Fool had powerful followers, so there was no need for him to use himself, Justice, or the Sun. His followers themselves could make similar attempts.

There must be some secrets here that I don't know or guess... The attempt must be sufficiently covert, and His followers are being watched by some existence? "The Hanged Man" Alger was suddenly full of thoughts.

After Klein finished describing the ceremony, he asked in a low but gentle voice:

"The sacrificial ritual must be performed at a specific time. Mr. Hanged Man, when are you going to try it?"

This was different from responding to a prayer, where the reply could be delayed. The stable channel created by the sacrificial ritual could only exist for a short period of time, so Klein had to wait above the gray fog in advance.

“For now, I only have the extraordinary material of the seven-colored lizard dragon’s pituitary gland. There are quite a few materials that contain spirituality… Mr. Fool, when the party is over, I will immediately try the first scenario. If I fail, I will go collect other extraordinary materials. After I have harvested something, I will inform you in the form of prayer and ask you to set a time.” As Alger spoke, he could not help but glance at Miss Justice.

As a "spectator", Audrey instantly understood what he meant and answered without hesitation:

"If I need to pay for additional extraordinary materials, I will compensate you later. Um... I can't guarantee that it is the specific material you want."

As expected of the wealthy Miss Justice, Klein the Fool at the head of the bronze table couldn't help but sigh and said with a low laugh:

"Deal done."

He looked at Justice, thought for a moment and said:

"Once Mr. The Hanged Man succeeds in his attempt, I will tell you the ritual to be granted."

"Okay!" Audrey was very confident in Mr. Fool's ability.

After answering, she suddenly had an idea and felt that money could also be exchanged in this way, of course, the prerequisite was that the attempt was successful.

I wonder if non-spiritual items will work... I'll ask Mr. Fool when the attempt is successful... Audrey's lips curled slightly as she thought about the beautiful scene in the future.

Seeing that the topic of sacrifice and gift had come to an end, she pondered for a few seconds and spoke again:

"Mr. Fool, I have found two ladies who are suitable for our Tarot Club. They are both extraordinary people. They have their own circles and resources in Backlund. They are also good at keeping secrets and have good personalities. Are you willing to let them join the party?"

Justice wants to increase its influence within the Tarot Club? This is the most instinctive thought of Alger, the Hanged Man.

The Sun Derrick was very interested in this. He turned his head to look at Mr. Fool, waiting for His answer.

Klein was a little embarrassed. In his previous expectation, the members of the Tarot Club should not know each other, and then each of them would develop a certain number of subordinates to form a relatively strict organizational structure.

In this way, even if a member is exposed, arrested, or possessed by spirits, it will not have much impact on the Tarot Club.

However, Miss Justice's description just now happened to hit his weakness. He was hoping to get to know the Beyonders who had different circles and resources in Backlund, so as to find clues about the Secret Society and Lanevus.

If I do it through "justice", the other party will eventually hold back... However, I don't know if I can pull them into the gray fog just by chanting my name... In order to maintain his image, Klein didn't think too much and used a delaying method.

He said calmly:

“This requires some examination.”

"Ms. Justice, you used a covert method that did not expose yourself to let them know my name and arouse their interest in it."

Seeing that her proposal was close to being adopted, Audrey responded excitedly:

"Yes, Mr. Fool!"

After a while of communication, the gathering ended. The Sun, the Hanged Man, and Justice returned to their respective places. Klein continued to stay above the gray fog, waiting for the sacrifice. 8)
