Chapter 9 A New Journey

Bonois Gustave... Klein's gaze slid from the face of the young man in front of him to the floating objects and the puppet made of metal parts.

The puppet has a very postmodern style... Some of the physical laws here seem to have changed to a certain extent... Klein nodded thoughtfully and said:

"I want to take that 'magic mirror' away."

He stated his request very frankly.

Bonois's expression did not change, as if he was just a puppet:

"Are you the follower of 'Night'?"

“For now, I think so.” Klein smiled.

Bonova nodded immediately:

"Then you can take it."

Do you think I'm collecting spoils for the Church of Evernight? Klein didn't explain. He just politely took off his hat and bowed slightly.

"Thank you so much."

As he spoke, Klein's figure suddenly faded and disappeared from the spot.

He came only as an image in the gap of history.

Next, nothing changed in the carriage where Ikanser and the member of the "Mechanical Heart" were.

Of course, they were only in a historical scene, and the real situation of the carriage was unknowingly covered up.

In the carriage more than ten kilometers away from the steam train, Klein suddenly had a mirror in his hand.

It is silver all over, with an ancient and mysterious pattern on the back and an eye-like decoration on each side of the front.

“Don’t speak.” Klein simply instructed the mirror.

"Yes, great and supreme master." Pale silver words emerged briskly from the depths of the mirror.

Klein immediately took out a pen and paper, using the "magic mirror" as a pad, and prepared to write a letter.

He thought for a moment, then wrote with a faint smile:

“Dear Mr. Azik:

“It seems like it’s been a long time since I wrote to you, because I went to the God-forsaken Land and had a wonderful trip.

“There are only two kinds of creatures there: living intelligent creatures and monsters. Those intelligent races are either cursed or have become obviously deformed. They are more miserable than I had imagined.

"I tried to help them. This was not just for the sake of ritual, anchor, or to satisfy my own pity. It was meaningful in itself...

"Apart from those sufferings, the situation in the entire God-Forsaken Land is completely different from the outside world, just like a series of oil paintings with black as the main color... What is surprising is that the artificial death god can affect the undead creatures here to a limited extent. I was very puzzled at the time, but today I finally have a guess. I suspect that this is related to the 'River of Eternal Darkness', one of the nine essences...

"This reminds me of the spiritual city of Calderon, and the golden phoenix ornament you mentioned before... It is rumored that the phoenix ancestor and the 'God of Death' of the Fourth Epoch can both use the 'River of Eternal Darkness' to a certain extent. I wonder if you know anything about this?

"The war that lasted for more than a year has finally ended. The 'Goddess of Night' won the final victory, and the 'God of War' fell. I think, with your level and status, you should know what this means...

"No matter what, the long-awaited peace has come, and people are gradually returning to their normal lives. This is the picture I like, but some pains may never be healed...

“I don’t know if the end of the world will come on time, and I don’t know when you will wake up. I can only hope that everything will develop in a good direction.

"Finally, let me tell you one more trivial thing. I have been promoted to Sequence 2 and become a 'Miracle Master'. This is both a curse and a hope.

"Best wishes to you, your eternal student, Klein Moretti."

After finishing writing, Klein carefully checked it before folding the letter and blowing the Azik copper whistle to summon the skeleton messenger.

When this huge messenger emerged from the ground, every bone in his body was trembling, as if he had sensed the breath of the "Great Lord of the Spirit World".

Klein chuckled and handed the letter to the unknown courier. He watched it perform an awkward salute before disintegrating into a fountain of bones and burrowing into the ground.

After doing this, Klein turned his gaze to the "magic mirror" on his thigh.

Feeling his gaze, the mirror surface rippled with light, and one pale silver word after another emerged:

"Great Master, where shall we go next?"

Where to go? Klein repeated this question in his mind. He really wanted to "teleport" directly to the main peak of the Hornachis Mountains and enter the ancient palace between reality and the foggy town to see if there was a chance to take the "blasphemy card" that was most useful to him from the half "fool" of the Antigonus family.

With his current strength equivalent to half of a Sequence 1, this was not an impossible task - when Zaratul was at Sequence 2, he was able to obtain the main ingredients for the Mystic Servant from half of the Fool.

Of course, the premise of all this is that the "Goddess of Night" maintains the suppression and seal on the ancestors of the Antigonus family.

So the matter came back to the transaction with the "Goddess of Night".

Now that I am the master of Sefirah Castle, I can send some of my “Spirit Bugs” to stay above the gray fog and respond to prayers at any time. This way, apart from the potential risks to my mental state, there are significant benefits in other aspects. Well, I can support my main body at any time, and I have an additional means of resurrection... Even if my main body is completely destroyed, I can still reconstruct my will and body by relying on the “Spirit Bugs” above the gray fog... However, if the part of me that walks in reality is “hidden” and loses its connection with Sefirah Castle, the remaining “Spirit Bugs” will go crazy and turn into monsters, just like Zaratul did back then... Klein quickly analyzed the situation and felt that with his current strength, he should not go deep into the spiritual city of Calderon for the time being.

Even if he were to look for clues to the "River of Eternal Darkness", he would have to wait until he had fulfilled many of his wishes and reached the level of a true "miracle worker".

Thinking of this, Klein patted the Magic Mirror and said with a smile:

“Next, let’s go wandering together.

"Is there anywhere you'd like to go?"

"Trier, no, I will go wherever you want me to go." Arrodes humbly replied in words.

Klein smiled, jumped off the carriage, and headed towards the nearest city.

The carriage continued to run for a few more meters before disappearing inch by inch, returning to the mist of history.

At the same time, Klein's windbreaker turned into a black robe, and his hat changed shape, taking on a classical temperament.

This makes Klein like a wandering magician walking through the streets.

…………

Backlund, in a relatively intact house.

The pure and beautiful "ageless witch" Katarina, who was wearing a holy white robe, put down the mirror in her hand, turned her head and said to the young man who was rocking in the reclining chair next to her:

"The war is over, and they finally decided to call me back to headquarters."

"I've been waiting for this day for too long." The young man sitting in the armchair said with a "tsk".

He was wearing a black robe with red patterns. He had a face with soft lines, brown skin and a slightly pale complexion. He was the "gatekeeper" possessed by the evil spirit of the "Red Angel".

Catalina held the table with both hands, sat on it, and said with a slight smile:

"You don't seem impatient at all."

"When you are locked up underground with two damn guys for a thousand or two thousand years and cannot get out, you will know that waiting for a year or two is very relaxing and comfortable. I am not in a hurry at all." The Red Angel evil spirit laughed, "When this is over, if you are curious, I will let you experience it. Of course, I will remember to give you two male companions. How long you can use them depends on whether you are restrained."

When the Red Angel evil spirit said this, there were no two mouths on its face to refute, because to them, this was the truth:

He had been locked up underground with two damned fellows for a thousand or two thousand years and couldn't get out.

Hearing this answer, Catalina's eyes turned slightly, and she smiled and asked:

"Aren't you worried about being discovered by the original source if you go to our headquarters?"

“So what? Doing things always requires taking risks, and the worst outcome is to merge with Him. I’m already three-in-one, so becoming four-in-one won’t be a problem.” Soren Einhorn Medici said with an indifferent attitude.

"Then let's go." Catalina jumped off the table lightly and said with a smile.

As soon as she finished speaking, a red-haired man with a flag mark on his forehead appeared in her eyes.

The "gatekeeper" in a black robe with red patterns suddenly lost his breath, and his skin and flesh quickly rotted away, turning into yellow-green pus.

In just a few seconds, all that was left on the armchair was a white skeleton and the extracted extraordinary characteristics.

Catalina waved her hand, and the extraordinary characteristics were pulled by the invisible thread and fell into her palm.

Then, her body suddenly lost its sense of reality and she suddenly dived into the mirror she had used before.

A dark, illusory and unreal road then appeared before the eyes of the "White Saint". It connected with similar things in the surrounding areas to form a complex and mysterious "spider web", weaving out a strange world different from reality.

Catalina quickly shuttled through this "mirror world" and approached the target node.

At this moment, she felt a powerful suction force and deviated from the road uncontrollably, heading towards a dark and blurry mist - which in the real world represented a mirror.

In a flash, Katarina, together with the "Red Angel" evil spirit, left the mirror and came to a strange carpeted room.

At the edge of the room, a young man with ordinary features and wearing ordinary clothes leaned against the stair railing, looking at the "White Witch" with a smile.

In his left hand he was constantly tossing an object, a strange crown covered in rust and blood.

Before Catalina could react, the young man took out a crystal monocle and put it on his left eye.

"Heh..." Catalina suddenly recalled the sneering laughter of the evil spirit of the "Red Angel" in her mind.

The next second, the young man took off his monocle, moved it to his right eye, and said with a distinct smile:

"Sorry, I put it on the wrong place."
