When I say I'm sleeping, I really mean sleeping.
Sheng Shijing supported his temple with one hand and patted Xie Xihe's back with the other hand as if coaxing a child, allowing her slightly tense body to gradually relax and she fell asleep unknowingly.
In the darkness, Sheng Shijing looked at the girl's sleeping face, and felt his heart soften to the extreme.
What he didn't say was that it had been a full day and two nights since he successfully registered, but even at this moment, he still felt a sense of unreality in his heart.
Sheng Shijing has always known that he is different from ordinary people.
It's not about his status, position, or physical appearance; nor is it about his extraordinary memory, mental strength, or physique since childhood; it's not even about the evil spirit that has been with him since birth, tormenting him but also saving him from danger many times.
It's about emotion, or rather, nature.
He has never felt any desire to get close to anyone.
Even though Old Master Sheng had loved him since he was a child and obeyed him in everything, he still respected him more than he loved him, and never wanted to take the initiative to get close to him.
Xie Xihe was the first one.
From the first time he saw her two months ago, he had felt a strong desire in his heart.
I want to be close to her, want to enter her world, want to make her mine.
She was so anxious that she couldn't even wait for ten short months. From the moment she agreed to him, she began to make many preparations.
Until finally achieving what you want.
But deep down in my heart, there is still a vague sense of uneasiness.
Suddenly, she felt as if she was the moon in the clouds and the scorching sun, but she was dragged down from the altar by him and fell into ruin with him.
It shouldn't be like this.
This is not allowed.
There was a voice in his heart telling him this over and over again, but he couldn't control the surging desire in his heart at all, and was clamoring madly to take her for himself.
He did so.
Knowing it is wrong, still moving forward.
Even if it means losing everything.
After all, this is what he has been seeking all his life...
Sheng Shijing didn't know when he fell asleep, he had a dream.
There was a figure in the dream that was so familiar that it seemed to be engraved into the soul.
She was wearing a golden long dress, as dazzling as the sun, but her temperament was extremely cold. When she stared, it seemed that even the human soul could be frozen.
She stood high on the altar, her glazed eyes sweeping across the countless believers below, finally landing on the man opposite her. She opened her red lips and said, "Yes, I don't want to."
The man, also wearing a golden robe, had an extremely grim expression on his face as he muttered, "He's a demon!"
"I know." The woman said, looking up, her voice light, "I've always known."
The man's pupils shrank sharply.
But the woman no longer wanted to continue to pester him.
Her gaze swept over the countless people below her again, and a hint of guilt filled the depths of her eyes.
"Just this once," she said, not knowing to whom.
As soon as she finished speaking, a dazzling golden light burst out from her body, lighting up the entire world in just a blink of an eye.
Golden light scattered, and the woman leaped up and jumped off the altar without hesitation...
An ancient and distant voice was heard, but it was drowned out by the screams that resounded through the heavens and the earth. Everyone watched as the woman fell from the altar and completely disappeared from their sight.
"Xi'er!"
Sheng Shijing suddenly opened his eyes, his whole body soaked with sweat.
What caught his eye was the still pitch-black room. The girl beside him was sleeping peacefully. As if she had noticed something was happening, a slight frown appeared between her brows. She pried open her eyelids and looked at him: "Are you having a nightmare?"
Sheng Shijing came back to his senses, his heart still beating wildly, but the panic in his eyes had disappeared.
He responded, holding the girl tighter in his arms, and said softly, "It's okay, go to sleep."
Xie Xihe leaned over and kissed him on the lips, his eyes half bleary. "Don't be afraid."
Sheng Shijing laughed dumbly: "Okay, I'm not afraid."
His chin rested on the top of her head and stroked her back again and again.
Xie Xihe put his hands on his waist and slowly fell asleep.
Sheng Shijing also closed his eyes, but he was completely out of sleep.
After an unknown amount of time, the girl's breathing became steady again, and Sheng Shijing slowly opened his eyes.
He stared at her for a long time, his eyes changing, and finally he stood up slowly.
Some things cannot be investigated and can be put aside for now, but some things need to be settled thoroughly.
TheChosenOne.
The chosen one?
A smile appeared on Sheng Shijing's lips.
If you dare to hurt her, even Heaven will have to pay the price, so what if you are the Chosen One?
A strong murderous aura emanated from the man's body. He glanced back at the girl sleeping peacefully on the bed, and his figure gradually faded away.
*
When Xie Xihe woke up, Sheng Shijing was no longer by his side, but he did not look too surprised.
Although she slept very soundly last night, she was not completely unaware. She just knew that he had something he wanted to do, so she did not stop him.
There was a light knock on the door. Xie Xihe got dressed and opened the door.
Xuan San stood by the door. Seeing Xie Xihe come out, he bowed respectfully to her and reported in a low voice, "The Third Master has taken Ye to the TCO branch. He told me to tell Madam not to worry and just focus on participating in the competition."
Xie Xihe's eyes moved and asked him, "How long have you been gone?"
Xuan San: “About two hours.”
Xie Xihe calculated the time in his mind and roughly figured it out. He nodded and said, "I understand."
