In the noisy and bustling banquet hall
Gu Jueye became the object of everyone's vying to win her over.
Although Gu Jueye was impatient, he still had to maintain basic manners and etiquette since it was a banquet hosted by the Gu family.
When someone comes up to offer a toast or a greeting, whether he knows them or not, he will still chat with them politely for a couple of minutes.
After a while, we inevitably drank some alcohol.
Staring blankly at the wine glass in his hand for a moment, Gu Jueye's gaze drifted to that corner.
But Bai Qianmo was nowhere to be seen, and even Qin Jingwen was absent.

A soft shout suddenly rang out in the hall. Although the sound was not loud, it was clear and melodious, attracting the attention of many people.
"Why is there an unopened gift on the ground? Who left it there?"
The speaker was a lady in her forties. She squatted down, slowly picked up the beautifully wrapped gift, examined it for a moment, and then held it up to the crowd with a questioning look.
Upon hearing that a gift had fallen to the ground, the guests curiously gathered around.
"This must have been a gift for the Duke. Who was so careless as to drop something so valuable on the ground?"
"The gift wrapping paper is quite beautiful, it looks like it was carefully prepared. Did any of the friends here lose anything?" the lady asked repeatedly.
Everyone shook their heads. Just then, a girl in the crowd murmured and spoke up.
“I know whose gift this is.”
Everyone looked at the girl with curiosity. She was wearing a strapless light blue dress, had long, straight black hair, and had delicate and beautiful features.
Gu Hongxun looked at the girl, a look of surprise on his face.
"Mengyao, do you know whose it is?"
Ye Mengyao nodded: "This gift is from Bai Qianmo. I just saw her holding it in her hands, and now I don't know how it fell to the ground."
Upon hearing the name "Bai Qianmo," Qin Lin's expression immediately changed.
She glanced sideways at Ye Yuzhen beside her and whispered, "Bai Qianmo is here too?"
Qin Lin had never met Bai Qianmo before, and besides, today was a family banquet of the Gu family. She never expected that someone of that status would appear at the Gu family.
"Fourth Aunt, don't you know?" Ye Yuzhen asked Qin Lin, feigning surprise.
Qin Lin's eyes turned slightly cold as she lowered her voice and said, "If I had known, how could I have allowed her to come?"
"That's strange. Bai Qianmo came with Jingwen. I thought the Qin family had already acknowledged her relationship with Lao Qi..."
Upon hearing that Bai Qianmo had been brought by her niece, Qin Lin immediately became furious.
Her eyes searched through the crowd. The old man and Jingwen were both here today. She had just looked around and wondered why they weren't in the banquet hall.
The old man dislikes these kinds of occasions, perhaps he's hiding somewhere quiet and probably doesn't know that Jingwen will bring Bai Qianmo.
What puzzled her was how Jingwen ended up getting involved with Bai Qianmo.
After thinking it over, Qin Lin looked at Ye Mengyao with a cold gaze: "Who are you to Bai Qianmo?"
When Ye Mengyao met Qin Lin's gaze, her heart skipped a beat.
Rumors circulated in aristocratic circles that the matriarch of the Gu family came from a prestigious family and had a strong personality; seeing her today confirmed this.
She only glanced at me once, and her gaze felt like several knives shooting straight at me.
Ye Mengyao lowered her eyes, bit her lip, and murmured, "Mrs. Gu, please don't misunderstand. I'm not very familiar with Bai Qianmo. She was an auditor who transferred to our No. 1 Middle School a couple of days ago and happened to be in the same class as me. We just know each other."
"An auditor? Isn't No. 1 High School quite famous? Why would they accept a student like this?"
"Maybe they have connections. In today's society, as long as you're willing to pay, you can get into any school."
"Judging from the tone, the person who gave the gift is a high school student. I'm really curious what's inside that would make its owner just throw it on the ground?"
The crowd began to discuss it enthusiastically.
Qin Lin looked even more embarrassed, thinking to herself that this farce was most likely Bai Qianmo deliberately asking the question to attract attention.
She personally brought Qian Ning in today because she wanted everyone to understand that Qian Ning is the future daughter-in-law chosen by the Gu family.
Since that little girl was there, she must have seen everything. Feeling dissatisfied, she thought of using this method to attract attention.
If things get out of hand, maybe Ah Ye will stand up for her. Wouldn't that make everyone aware of her existence?
After a moment of contemplation, Qin Lin inwardly snorted coldly.
This girl is so young, but she's incredibly cunning. The thought of my son being infatuated with someone like that makes me want to vomit blood.
Madam Gu glanced at everyone, a hint of doubt in her wise eyes.
Qianmo doesn't seem like a reckless person, so why would she throw the gift on the ground?
"Since it's a gift from Qianmo, let's wait until she arrives before discussing it further," said Old Madam Gu, waving her hand.
The Gu family members immediately walked up to the lady and reached out to take the gift.
Just as the woman was about to hand the gift to the Gu family, the wrapping paper suddenly loosened as she bent her wrist, and the box inside fell to the ground.
The box was designed to snap shut, and when it fell to the ground, it collided violently and instantly broke in two, revealing the black leather wallet inside.
All eyes were drawn to the black wallet.
Gu Jueye's expression darkened slightly, his eyes narrowed dangerously, and his gaze at the Gu family members was like two sharp blades.
The Gu family members were so frightened that their faces changed drastically. They immediately squatted down, put the gift that had fallen to the ground back into the box, closed the box, and picked up the wrapping paper as well.
