Arriving at the door of the study
Bai Qianmo knocked on the door, and the old man's loud voice came out.
"Come in."
Bai Qianmo glanced at Gu Jueye, feeling that the old man had summoned them to the study at the same time, as if there was something they wanted to discuss.
Push open the door and go in
The old man was practicing calligraphy with a brush in hand, and he didn't even lift his eyelids when the two of them came in.

Bai Qianmo stared at the calligraphy on the table. It was a poem praising the noble character of bamboo. The calligraphy was indeed beautiful, but it seemed that the old man had not finished writing it, leaving a large blank space.
"Qianmo, how about you paint a bamboo for Grandpa?" Old Bai handed over the brush.
Bai Qianmo's eyelids twitched, and she immediately understood what the old man meant.
So this blank space was meant for her.
The old man's words are worth pondering. He didn't ask her if she could paint first, but directly asked her to paint a picture. It's obvious that he knew she could paint, or it was a test.
Bai Qianmo glanced quickly at the man beside her out of the corner of her eye and immediately understood why Gu Jueye had come to the Bai family today.
If she says she can't paint, the old man should show her the painting "Clouds, Rain, Mountains and Rivers" and ask her who painted it. If she really painted on that painting, it would be an admission that Ye Bai is her.
I'm caught in a dilemma.
"Qianmo, little girl?"
Just as Bai Qianmo was about to speak, the study door was pushed open.
"Grandpa, is Bai Qianmo here...?"
Bai Yitang barged into the study and saw Bai Qianmo standing next to the old man.
He glared at her angrily: "My mom asked me to tutor you in chemistry. Hurry up, I have other homework to do later."
"Okay, I'm coming right now." Bai Qianmo chuckled to herself; Bai Yitang was really being exceptionally helpful today.
"Grandpa, I'll go study now. You two can chat."
After saying that, Bai Qianmo immediately followed Bai Yitang out of the study.
The old man stared at Bai Qianmo's departing figure with a thoughtful expression. After a long while, he turned his gaze to Gu Jueye beside him.
"Are you and Qianmo really alumni of JQ?"
He could hardly believe that the child he had found in the countryside was actually a student in JQ's genius class.
Gifted Class
Just hearing the name makes him sound impressive. Luo Yu is a graduate of JQ. I once heard Luo Yu mention that JQ's genius class is made up of geniuses selected from all over the world. Their IQ must be above 140, and they must pass layers of tests and screenings to get in.
Gu Jueye didn't explain much, but instead handed Old Bai a photo.
Mr. Bai reached out and took the photo, staring at it intently.
The girl in the picture is wearing a graduation gown and smiling brightly at the camera. The campus behind her is clearly a teaching building in the JQ campus.
Old Bai took a deep breath and remained silent for a long time, still unable to recover from the shock.
“This child ran away from home when she was 14. After we found out this year that Xi Ruo was not the Bai family’s daughter, I immediately sent people to the countryside to look for clues about her. The people in the local village said that she had just returned from outside the day before we went to look for her.” Old Bai said in a deep voice, holding the photo.
He also heard some gossip from the people sent to the village, saying that after Qianmo graduated from junior high school, she ran away with a man from out of town.
From then on, Qianmo's adoptive parents declared to the outside world that they had completely severed ties with Bai Qianmo.
Her adoptive parents had a daughter, and when Qianmo was seven years old, she gave birth to a son. The family was very poor. According to the locals, the couple only doted on their eldest daughter and youngest son, and always neglected Bai Qianmo.
He was heartbroken after hearing this news, which is why he rushed back to China this time, wanting to make it up to the child.
Gu Jueye's long eyelashes trembled slightly.
The Bai family went to look for someone, and the little girl just happened to return?
