After leaving the mall, Zhang Yafei went into a flower shop to buy flowers, while Li Yushu parked the car in front of the flower shop and waited, his deep gaze occasionally checking the surroundings through the rearview mirrors on both sides.
No suspicious persons were found; perhaps he was overthinking it!
*
In a KFC across from the flower shop, Bai Qianmo sat facing the floor-to-ceiling window, with a freshly ordered fried chicken and cola on the table in front of her. She ate the fried chicken slowly, glancing at the flower shop from time to time.
The white BMW remained parked at the entrance. Li Yushu did not get out of the car, while Zhang Yafei went to the flower shop to choose a bouquet herself.
Zhang Yafei just said she was going to visit an aunt named "Jin En," which could also be "Jin En," "Jin En," or "Jin En." The character "En" is easier to choose from, but there are more options for the character "Jin."
Judging from Zhang Yafei's age of 23, the other party's age should be between 43 and 60 years old. If she is younger, it would not be appropriate to call her "Auntie," and if she is older, it would be more appropriate to call her "Grandma."
Judging from her name, she must come from a cultured family. It's safe to say that this woman has some kind of connection with Li Yushu.
Because when Zhang Yafei mentioned "Aunt Jin'en" just now, she clearly had a flattering tone.
What is the relationship between "Aunt Jin'en" and Li Yushu?
As Bai Qianmo was deep in thought, Zhang Yafei walked out of the flower shop holding a bouquet of flowers.
When Bai Qianmo saw the bouquet of flowers in Zhang Yafei's arms, her expression suddenly froze.
After watching the white BMW drive away, she immediately got up and chased after it.
I flagged down a rental car on the roadside, opened the door and quickly got in: "Driver, catch up with that white BMW ahead."
The driver glanced at the BMW not far ahead, then looked in the rearview mirror at Bai Qianmo.
"Young lady, are you stalking your boyfriend? Rich people these days are all unreliable. You're still young, don't let a scumbag blind you. If you should break up with him, do it as soon as possible."
Bai Qianmo glanced at the driver indifferently: "Judging from your tone, you seem to be very experienced?"
The driver chuckled: "This is the fourth one this month. They're all young and pretty girls catching their cheating boyfriends or husbands. You're the calmest one out there. The three before you were crying the whole way. I also have a daughter, about your age. Seeing you reminds me of my daughter, so I can't help but say a few words. Young lady, please don't mind."
Bai Qianmo smiled but didn't say anything.
The car drove away from the city center and headed towards the northern suburbs.
Upon arriving at her destination, Bai Qianmo looked at the cemetery in front of her in surprise. This was actually the western suburban cemetery she had been investigating.
Zhang Yafei had just been holding white chrysanthemums when she saw the bouquet and realized that the "Jin'en" aunt Zhang Yafei mentioned must have passed away.
I never expected that the other person would be buried in the western suburbs cemetery.
Bai Qianmo got out of the car first, some distance away from them.
Watching Li Yushu and Zhang Yafei walk side by side into the depths of the cemetery, Bai Qianmo quietly followed behind, seeing them finally stop in front of a tombstone that looked quite old.
She took the opportunity to hide in the nearby locust grove.
Li Yushu placed the pastries he had bought in front of the tombstone, occasionally muttering a few words, his expression revealing a trace of sadness.
Zhang Yafei then placed the bunch of white chrysanthemums on top.
Bai Qianmo stood a hundred meters away, at a distance where she could only vaguely see the expressions of the two people, but could not hear what they were saying.
The two stayed for about twenty minutes, bowed to the tombstone together, and then left side by side.
After watching Li Yushu and Zhang Yafei leave, Bai Qianmo walked out of the locust grove and headed straight for the tombstone.
The heavy tombstone bears no photograph of the deceased. Over time, the tombstone has become somewhat worn, and the inscriptions are no longer very clear.
The stone tablet is inlaid with a row of elegant traditional Chinese characters: Tomb of my beloved wife Xu Jin'en.
On the left side of the tombstone, in small regular script, are the inscriptions: Born March 14, 1901; Died September 17, 1936.
On the right side of the tombstone is a vertical row of slightly larger small characters.
Husband: Xu Changchong!
*
One hour later
Luo Cheng drove over and jogged up the mountainside. He saw Bai Qianmo standing in front of a tombstone, lost in thought, and immediately walked over.
"What's going on?"
Bai Qianmo glanced at Luo Cheng and pointed to the tombstone.
Luo Cheng came to Bai Qianmo's side and looked in the direction she was pointing.
"Xu Jin'en? He died in 1936. He was an ancestor from before the founding of the People's Republic of China. You summoned me here just to see this? I just got away from an emergency meeting; I have some very urgent cases to deal with..."
"Look at the person who signed it next to him," Bai Qianmo interrupted him coldly.
Luo Cheng paused for a moment, then looked at the signature on the right.
"Xu Changchong? 'Chang,' do you mean that this Xu Changchong is the person on the memorial tablet in the tomb keeper's room?"
Bai Qianmo stared intently at the inscription on the stone tablet: "I can't rule out that possibility. I followed Zhang Yafei here all the way today, so I suspect that the person on the tombstone has some connection with Zhang Yafei."
"Even if there is a connection, it should be something like ancestors, right? Let alone Zhang Yafei, even when Zhang Yafei's grandmother was born, she might not have been able to see the owner on the stone tablet."
Bai Qianmo raised an eyebrow at Luo Cheng, a glint of wisdom flashing in her eyes: "So, is it normal for Zhang Yafei to call the person on this stone tablet 'Auntie'?"
puff……
"Auntie? This woman is more than enough to be her great-grandmother."
Bai Qianmo leaned against a pine tree and gently rubbed her hands together: "The most important thing right now is to find Xu Jin'en and Xu Changchong. Only by finding out their identities can we know what Zhang Yafei's relationship with them really is."
