Seeing that it was Yuan You calling, Bai Qianmo curiously pressed the answer button.
"Ms. Bai, this is Yuan You. Is it a convenient time for you to take this call now?"
"It's convenient, you tell me."
The huge weight that had been hanging over Yuan You's heart finally lifted.
"Well, my boss has been busy all day. He only ate something this morning and is still working. I was wondering if you had a moment, or if you could give him a call to remind him to eat something first..."
"Miss, your order is ready!"
"Thank you!" Bai Qianmo picked up the lunchbox and stood up from the chair.
"I'm near your research institute right now, remember to leave the door open for me!"
After saying that, he hung up the phone.
Yuan You was stunned for a few seconds: "Wow, is it some kind of divine calculation?"
"What did Miss Bai say?"
"She...is here!"
Ten minutes later
Bai Qianmo walked into the research institute, and Yuan You opened the door.
"Miss Bai."
Bai Qianmo nodded and glanced up at the second floor: "Your boss..."
"Oh, the boss is in his office upstairs. You can just go in."
Have you eaten yet?
Yuan You scratched his short hair at his temples in a daze, then chuckled, "Not yet, we're planning to go out to eat."
Bai Qianmo handed them the other two meals: "I brought three meals. Eat before you leave."
Seeing that Bai Qianmo had even thought of bringing them food, Yuan You and Chu Yi were both deeply moved.
The landlady is much gentler and more considerate than the landlady.
"Thank you, Miss Bai."
Bai Qianmo handed them the two meals and then went upstairs.
Arriving at Gu Jueye's office, she looked through the floor-to-ceiling glass and saw the man inside intently taking notes, completely unaware of her presence.
Instead of going to his office, Bai Qianmo turned around and quietly went to the open-air balcony.
He then chuckled and took out his phone to dial Gu Jueye's number.
The phone that was lying to the side suddenly rang, and Gu Jueye finally looked away from the pile of documents.
Upon seeing that it was Bai Qianmo calling, a faint smile appeared on his handsome face.
Press the answer button.
"Hello?"
A whooshing sound came from the other end of the line. Gu Jueye frowned slightly. "Why aren't you saying anything?"
"What are you doing?" came a very soft voice from the other end, as if the speaker was deliberately lowering their voice.
Gu Jueye glanced at the time; it was already 10:30 p.m.
"Eating now!"
"Really?" Knowing that Gu Jueye was lying, Bai Qianmo's voice deepened.
Gu Jueye vaguely sensed that the little girl's words were a bit strange, and subconsciously looked towards the office area outside the floor-to-ceiling window. Apart from his office being lit up, the office area outside was pitch black.
Am I just overthinking things?
"Really? Why don't you come and take a look?"
Bai Qianmo said coquettishly, "Do you think I can't see it?"
Upon hearing the girl's words, Gu Jueye raised an eyebrow, opened the computer monitoring system, and showed the entire second-floor office area. Finally, he saw that familiar figure on the open-air balcony.
A smile appeared on his face: "Okay, you come!"
While on the phone, Gu Jueye quietly left his office and headed towards the open-air balcony.
Bai Qianmo was completely unaware, never expecting that she had been betrayed by the surveillance cameras.
"Then you'd better be careful, I might show up at any moment!"
After she finished speaking, no one answered for a long time on the other end of the phone, and Bai Qianmo paused for a moment.
Realizing something, she tried to turn around, but a pair of strong arms had already wrapped tightly around her from behind.
Bai Qianmo let out a soft cry, her arm holding the railing bent slightly, and her body fell solidly into a broad and warm chest.
A pleasant, low voice sounded in my ear: "Why didn't you tell me you were here?"
Bai Qianmo's ears turned slightly red. Suppressing the pounding in her heart, she spoke calmly.
"Of course I couldn't tell you when you came to check up on me. You even lied and said you were eating. Where's your food?"
"Isn't this delivered?" Gu Jueye laughed happily, leaned close to Bai Qianmo's cheek, and gently placed a kiss on it.
"I want to eat it!"
After being teased by Gu Jueye, Bai Qianmo felt a tingling sensation coursing through her veins.
She tightened her grip on the handrail, inwardly sighing. She had been flirting with girls all day, so why did she suddenly become so timid when she met this guy?
