Chapter 229 The Lord Who Protects His Wife to the Extreme

Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.

The old doctor prescribed some anti-inflammatory ointment for the wound, and the two of them left the hospital.

It was already 1 a.m. when Bai Qianmo returned to the hotel where she was staying.

After entering the room, Bai Qianmo went straight to the bathroom.

A moment later, she took out a bathrobe and handed it to Gu Jueye: "Your clothes are dirty, change into this first, I'll have someone come and take your clothes to the dry cleaners later."

The hotel has a dedicated dry cleaning room for guests, making laundry very convenient.

Gu Jueye responded and took off his coat, revealing his black shirt underneath.

One by one, the buttons opened, revealing a section of porcelain-white skin.

Bai Qianmo's cheeks flushed instantly. She placed her bathrobe by the bed and tried to turn away from him to change her clothes.

Out of the corner of her eye, she suddenly noticed his arm; the sleeve of his black shirt was soaked through.

Bai Qianmo's expression suddenly changed, and she reached out and ripped open his shirt, revealing his arm covered in bloodstains.

"You're injured? Why didn't you say so at the hospital?"

Gu Jueye looked down at Bai Qianmo, his eyes deep and passionate.

He tossed his shirt aside and pulled her into a tight embrace: "Thank goodness, thank goodness you're alright."

"Gu Jueye, you're injured. You can't move this arm!" At this moment, she was more concerned about his injury.

Gu Jueye was like a stubborn child, tightening his arms around her waist: "As long as you are safe and sound, this little injury is nothing."

Bai Qianmo stood there, stunned, a wave of warmth washing over her.

Actually, if Gu Jueye hadn't shown up, she would have been fine.

But at the most dangerous moment, he unhesitatingly shielded her with his own body, avoiding the fatal blow. She could feel how much this man cared for her, but she never expected that he would be willing to give his life to protect her.

Suddenly her eyes felt wet and hot, and Bai Qianmo raised her head, forcing herself to swallow back her tears.

But tears still streamed down her face, her nose felt stuffy, and a lump of soreness welled up in her throat, threatening to burst out.

Gradually calming down, Bai Qianmo gently pushed Gu Jueye away.

"Let's treat your wound first."

Fortunately, the hospital prescribed disinfectant. Bai Qianmo used a cotton swab dipped in iodine to clean the bloodstains on Gu Jueye's arm, and then gently applied the ointment evenly. She stared at his injury with exceptional focus.

Gu Jueye sat on the sofa, his deep gaze fixed on her.

"You need to change the dressing on your arm every day. Take this ointment. By the way, why did you suddenly come to the capital? Didn't you say yesterday that you were going to stay abroad for a few more days?"

Gu Jueye glanced at the bow tied on his arm and chuckled softly.

He reached out and hooked his arm around her waist, gently pulling her onto his lap: "I had already booked my flight back to China when we video-called last night. I wanted to surprise you, but it turned out to be a shock."

Bai Qianmo gently rested her head on Gu Jueye's broad shoulder, narrowing her eyes dangerously.

That car was clearly headed for her; it must have been following her in secret for quite some time.

Who could want her dead?

Thinking about it carefully, she has quite a few enemies, both international and domestic, making it difficult to filter them all at once.

Gu Jueye said coldly, "I've already had someone investigate that car, and we'll have news soon. We'll go back to the capital together tomorrow, and I'll arrange for two people to protect you secretly during this time."

"No need, it's actually very difficult for ordinary people to get close to me..."

Gu Jueye pinched her chin, lifted it slightly, and then forcefully kissed her, silencing Bai Qianmo's words.

The kiss lingered for a long time, until Bai Qianmo's face turned bright red. Gu Jueye sighed inwardly, "We've done this so many times, but the little girl is still so inexperienced, she has no skill whatsoever."

Gu Jueye cupped Bai Qianmo's face in his hands, gently pressing the tip of his nose against her forehead, and showering her with kisses: "Qianmo, don't make me worry."

He really couldn't lose her again; he had to remember this lesson he learned today!
