Bai Qianmo quickly calculated in her mind that she could stay until after her grandfather's birthday banquet.
After leaving the TV station, Su Peishan went to the garage to get her car.
Bai Qianmo was standing at the door when her phone suddenly rang.
She took out her phone and glanced at it; it was a message from Gu Jueye.
When I opened WeChat, there was a photo of a strange man.
Bai Qianmo had just glanced at it when someone suddenly bumped into her from behind.
She stumbled forward, and her phone fell to the ground.
"I'm so sorry, miss, are you alright?"
Bai Qianmo turned around and looked at the person behind her.
The other person looked to be in their early twenties, dressed in a rather flashy outfit, with bleached gray hair, small eyes, a long face, and a rather ordinary appearance.
If it weren't for this flashy outfit, she would be the kind of person who wouldn't get a second glance on the street.
Bai Qianmo stared at the other person coldly for a while.
The flashy man looked apologetic and hurriedly squatted down to help Bai Qianmo pick up her phone.
"No need, I can do it myself!" Bai Qianmo took a step forward, blocking the other person's arm, and squatted down to pick up the phone.
"Miss, your phone screen looks cracked. There's a phone repair shop nearby. If you're not busy, I can take you there to get your screen replaced."
Bai Qianmo swiped her fingertip across the phone screen, narrowed her clear eyes, and glanced at the flashy man again.
Let's go.
Bai Qianmo walked ahead with her phone in her hand. Although the screen was cracked and scrolling was a bit difficult, it was still usable.
He swiped the screen a few times and then turned off the computer.
"We're here. This is the place. I'm a bit clumsy, and my phone screen has cracked several times. I always come here to get it replaced." The flashy man smiled and led Bai Qianmo into the shop.
It was nearly noon, and the only person in the shop was the owner, who was watching a movie out of boredom.
"Boss, I'm here to replace my phone screen again."
The boss recognized him at a glance and joked, "Didn't you just change jobs a few days ago?"
"This time it wasn't my phone; I accidentally smashed someone else's phone. Could you please take a look and see if there are any other problems?"
"Let me see your phone."
Bai Qianmo looked around and handed her phone to the boss.
The boss sat at the control panel, carefully scrolling through his phone for a while.
"It seems the internal screen is also a bit malfunctioning from the fall."
"Let's fix them together then. How long will it take?"
"About half an hour."
The flashy man looked at Bai Qianmo: "Miss, is half an hour alright?"
"Sure!" Bai Qianmo readily agreed.
The flashy man pointed to a chair over there: "Sit down and rest for a while."
Bai Qianmo nodded and walked to the chair to sit down.
The flashy man stood in front of the counter, chatting idly with the owner.
While getting her phone repaired, the flashy man asked Bai Qianmo about her profession.
Bai Qianmo answered truthfully and mentioned that she was in talks with the capital city about a variety show. The flashy man said that he happened to be a cameraman at the capital city TV station and would likely be assigned to the "Extreme Challenge" crew to film.
Half an hour later, Bai Qianmo's phone was fixed, the flashy man paid the bill, and the two of them walked out of the store together.
"Ms. Bai, let's exchange phone numbers. I'm also an intern at Beijing TV. Maybe we can help each other out in the future."
This excuse was truly irresistible. Bai Qianmo tugged at the corner of her lips and gave the other person a sidelong glance with a half-smile.
"OK!"
After breaking up with the flashy guy, Bai Qianmo logged back into WeChat.
During this time, Gu Jueye also sent two messages.
Bai Qianmo scoffed and picked up her phone to call Su Peishan.
"Hey, where did you go? I just went to get the car and you disappeared. Your phone is off."
"My phone was just broken by someone, so I went to a nearby phone repair shop."
"Why is your phone always having problems? Didn't you just get a new one?"
"Bad luck, there's nothing I can do about it."
"I've already left the TV station. I have some company business to take care of. You'll have to take a taxi home yourself."
"Got it!" After hanging up the phone, Bai Qianmo hailed a taxi on the roadside and got in.
"Master, to Hongtai Building!"
Top floor of Hongtai Building
Gou Si, dressed in a sharp suit, appeared before Bai Qianmo: "What wind blew you here today?"
"I'm looking for Master Gou because I have something important to discuss."
"Great, I love it when you come to me with important matters. But we need to change how you address me. How about you just call me Fourth Brother?"
Bai Qianmo didn't hesitate; when she needed someone's help, she naturally went along with what made them happy.
"Then wouldn't I have an extra older brother?"
"Hey, let's drop the word 'old' and go talk in the office."
Bai Qianmo and Gou Si walked side by side toward the CEO's office.
The employees secretly observed them for a while.
"What's going on? This is the first time our boss has ever been so polite to a woman."
"Yeah, all the women who came to see the boss before would wait in the lounge for his attention. This girl, however, actually got our boss to come out and greet her. What's her background?"
"He looks quite young; maybe the boss has a new taste for this lately."
Several female employees chattered about Gou Si's romantic history.
The president's office was completely isolated from outside sounds. Bai Qianmo walked to the sofa and sat down.
Gou Si then instructed his secretary to make two cups of coffee and bring them in.
He walked to the sofa and sat down, a faint smile on his handsome face.
