next day
At dawn, a ray of sunlight streamed in through the glass skylight, bathing the entire room in a soft golden glow.
Bai Qianmo was awakened by a series of "chirping" sounds. She slowly opened her eyes and looked towards the skylight with somewhat hazy eyes.
Two beautiful little birds were hopping and skipping happily on the skylight, chirping sweetly.
Bai Qianmo's consciousness gradually returned, and she looked to her side, only to find that Gu Jueye was no longer on the bed.
Thinking of last night, Bai Qianmo couldn't help but smile.
They actually counted stars all night long, and then talked about everything from the formation of the universe to the Big Bang, aliens, and parallel universes. Before they knew it, they had fallen asleep.
She didn't even know what time she went to sleep, but she vaguely remembered a deep, mellow voice gently saying goodnight in her ear.
The building looks very different during the day and at night. At night, the building is full of mystery and solemnity, while during the day it is surrounded by lush trees, as if it were part of nature.
Bai Qianmo threw off the covers and got out of bed. She walked out of the bedroom, looked around, and couldn't see Gu Jueye anywhere.
After washing up in the bathroom, I walked around the living room and then turned around and went into the kitchen.
The kitchen is open-plan and fully equipped with tableware. The refrigerator even contains freshly purchased vegetables and fruits.
Bai Qianmo took out the kettle and boiled a pot of water. She poured herself a glass. She originally wanted to make breakfast, but found herself at a loss for what to do. So she simply held a glass of water and walked to the French windows to bask in the sun.
Since returning to the capital, she seemed to have never felt such peace of mind.
Nestled in a soft sofa chair, gently enveloped by the warm sunlight, Bai Qianmo hugged a pillow, turned to her side, lazily closed her eyes, and unknowingly fell asleep again.
While I was fast asleep, I vaguely heard a series of light footsteps approaching me.
Bai Qianmo was a light sleeper. When the other person walked to her side, she was already fully awake, but she didn't open her eyes immediately because she smelled a familiar scent.
Gu Jueye stared at the peaceful, sleeping face before him, momentarily lost in thought.
He then reached out and grabbed a white blanket from the sofa, walked to Bai Qianmo's side, and bent down to cover her with it.
His deep gaze was gentle and indulgent, and his beautiful, slender hand gently stroked the girl's sleeping face. The morning sunlight filtered through the lush foliage, dappling her face and making her fair, baby-like skin appear even more translucent and white.
When she realized she had been lost in thought, that hand was already caressing her beautiful eyebrows and eyes.
When she opens her eyes, she always exudes a pure and aloof aura, like a snow lotus on a snow-capped mountain, pristine and unattainable.
Distant and indifferent, cold and serene.
But when she's fast asleep, she's like a quiet porcelain doll, her sharp edges softened, revealing the innocence and naivety that comes with her age.
Bai Qianmo felt the cool fingertips gently brushing along her eyebrows and across her lips, and then a familiar sense of oppression gradually approached.
Her brow furrowed almost imperceptibly, but it still didn't escape the man's sharp and perceptive gaze.
A mischievous glint flashed in Gu Jueye's eyes as he leaned down to her neck and slowly moved up to her sensitive earlobe.
"You know how tempting you are right now, huh? If you don't open your eyes soon, I'm going to kiss you."
Bai Qianmo's slightly drooping eyelids trembled slightly, and her clear eyes opened instantly.
Gu Jueye chuckled softly, his deep, mellow voice, sexy and alluring, reached my ears like a gentle breeze brushing against my heart, causing my whole heart to tremble.
"where have you been?"
Gu Jueye stared at her pink and luscious lips so close to his face, leaned in, and greedily kissed them.
Then he said hoarsely, "Morning run."
Bai Qianmo's gaze then noticed Gu Jueye's attire. He was wearing a black casual sportswear outfit, with his jacket pulled up to the collar. His neatly trimmed short hair fell unruly over his brow bone, which surprisingly added a touch of youthful vigor.
Gu Jueye naturally possessed a youthful appearance, with delicate and refined features, a perfectly sculpted profile, and an otherworldly and elegant temperament, which made him appear exceptionally noble.
If it weren't for the sharp, cold look in his eyes, exuding the aloofness and domineering air of someone in a high position, this face would definitely outshine all the young heartthrobs if he were in the entertainment industry.
Bai Qianmo was a little infatuated, staring at this stunning face, and felt a little secretly pleased. She was glad that he hadn't put his face under the spotlight for everyone to admire, and even more glad that she had managed to pluck this high-mountain flower from the cliff.
Thinking about it, it actually feels quite fulfilling.
"What are you thinking about?" Gu Jueye asked with amusement as he saw the little girl staring at him with a fascination.
Those distant eyes were like clear mirrors, seemingly taking in every bit of her greedy thoughts.
Bai Qianmo blinked and smiled, "I was wondering when you started liking me?"
Gu Jueye paused slightly, a dark current surging in his dark pupils.
"The first time I saw you." After a moment of silence, Gu Jueye answered the question seriously.
Bai Qianmo chuckled sweetly: "Love at first sight?"
Gu Jueye is actually quite cold-hearted at heart. He may appear gentle and refined, but he has a high wall around his heart that others cannot easily enter, and he will not easily leave either.
The probability of falling in love at first sight with a man like this is extremely low.
So she always harbored doubts. From the moment he gave her an umbrella when they first met, it seemed he was meticulously planning their next "chance encounter."
At the time, she only felt that the man was dangerous and that she needed to keep a safe distance from him.
She may have already vaguely sensed that if he pursued her, she might not be able to resist.
Gu Jueye smiled faintly: "Perhaps this is my obsession with you in this life."
A deep wisdom gradually emerged in Bai Qianmo's clear and bright eyes.
After uttering these meaningful words, Gu Jueye gave Bai Qianmo a light peck on the lips.
"I'm going to take a shower."
Bai Qianmo nestled in the sofa chair, her gaze following Gu Jueye's handsome back as her suspicions deepened.
She and Gu Jueye must have known each other before, but she had forgotten their memories.
Why did she forget Gu Jueye?
What exactly happened in between?
She almost asked the question, but she vaguely sensed that Gu Jueye didn't want her to know about their past relationship.
From the day they met, he was prepared to integrate into her life as a stranger.
But why did he do that?
Her gaze drifted to the lush foliage outside the window, her doubts growing ever deeper. She felt a vague sense of fear: if the truth were to finally be revealed, would it be as she expected?
