Bai Qianmo continued to pretend to be asleep. Under the orange wall lamp, her exposed skin appeared as smooth and delicate as brocade. Her face was calm and peaceful, and her pink lips were crystal clear, like cherries waiting to be picked, sweet and tempting.
Gu Jueye gently covered her hand, which was resting to one side, with one arm around her and their fingers intertwined. His cool lips slowly moved up her delicate earlobe and deliberately blew a breath of warm air into her ear.
Bai Qianmo's long eyelashes trembled slightly, and she instinctively shrank back.
Well, this man is obviously doing it on purpose.
A low, pleasant laugh came from behind her. Gu Jueye wrapped his long arm around her and turned her around easily, so that they were face to face. His eyes were full of smiles.
"Shall we talk? Or do something meaningful, hmm?" As he spoke, he brought his face closer, the tip of his nose gently touching her forehead, and his cool lips lightly kissing her brow.
Bai Qianmo's cheeks flushed slightly, her eyes shining like water: "Then let's chat."
Gu Jueye gave a playful smirk: "Actually, I'd rather do something else..."
Bai Qianmo blushed slightly, nestled her head against his shoulder, and whispered something in his ear.
Gu Jueye's smile gradually froze, and then he asked with concern, "Does your stomach hurt?"
He had only intended to tease the little girl, but she had started her period, and he felt a little embarrassed.
No wonder her hands and feet were so cold when she came out of the shower.
"A little, but it's bearable." Her body is rather cold, and her stomach always hurts more on the first day of her period.
Perhaps it's her personality, but she never paid attention to this pain.
Gu Jueye knew that what she called "a little" was actually unbearable pain for most girls.
The tall figure sat up nimbly and reached out to wrap the blanket tightly around her.
"You rest first, I'll go make you some brown sugar water."
Bai Qianmo reached out and grabbed the corner of his robe: "No need, you should go to sleep."
Although he didn't say anything, she knew in her heart that he hadn't slept a wink during the day and night she had been missing.
He is the one who needs rest the most right now.
"Lie down properly." Gu Jueye squeezed her hand, got up, got out of bed, and walked out of the bedroom.
Bai Qianmo opened her eyes, a spasm of pain shooting through her lower abdomen, causing cold sweat to bead on her forehead, yet her heart was filled with sweetness.
Gu Jueye quickly brought over a bowl of brown sugar water and stirred it gently with a spoon: "I just looked it up, and it says that adding a little ginger shreds is very effective, but it might not taste very good."
"It's okay, I'm not a picky eater." Bai Qianmo reached out and took the spoon, sipping the food slowly.
Gu Jueye stared at her with deep eyes: "Tomorrow I will have Rongyi follow you, but don't worry, he will only stay in the shadows. As long as you are not in danger, he will not appear in front of you."
Bai Qianmo paused slightly, then thought carefully. This person seemed to be a member of the Gu family who often followed Gu Jueye.
"Actually, I don't think Xu Changchong meant to hurt me."
Gu Jueye's eyes darkened slightly: "I cannot let Xu Changchong get close to you until I figure out his purpose."
Bai Qianmo didn't say anything more. She understood his worries and concerns, and in order to put his mind at ease, she could only agree.
After drinking the brown sugar water, Bai Qianmo felt the pain in her abdomen lessen. She was already very tired, so she fell asleep as soon as she lay down on the bed.
Gu Jueye sat on the edge of the bed, gently brushing away the stray hairs from her forehead, his gaze fixed intently on the girl before him for a long time.

Bai Qianmo woke up early in the morning, but Gu Jueye was no longer by her side.
Stepping out of the bedroom, there was a pink insulated container on the dining table, with a piece of tissue paper next to it.
The handwriting on the paper was strong and forceful: I have urgent business to attend to and cannot have breakfast with you. Please eat your breakfast.
Upon seeing the contents of the note, Bai Qianmo felt her mood brighten and refresh her throughout the morning.
She went to the bathroom to wash up, casually tied up her long hair, returned to the dining room, opened the pink thermos, and found soft and sticky eight-treasure porridge and a serving of steamed buns inside.
Bai Qianmo sat down to eat breakfast when her phone suddenly rang.
I picked it up and glanced at it; it was a call from Su Peishan.
He immediately pressed the answer button: "Hello, Sister Su."
"Where have you been these past two days? You didn't answer my calls or reply to my WeChat messages. Did you go on a trip to Mars?"
"Something came up and I was delayed. I only saw your missed call after midnight last night. I was planning to call you back first thing this morning, but you called first," Bai Qianmo explained softly, taking a sip of her porridge.
"Never mind, I'm already downstairs at your place. Have you had breakfast yet? Do you need me to bring you some?"
Bai Qianmo glanced at the cute pink thermos in front of her: "I'm eating, you can come up here."
"Okay then, I haven't eaten either, so I'll just come over to your place for a free meal."
Bai Qianmo said without hesitation, "I only have one breakfast. You can buy another one yourself."
What a joke! This was a thermos her man went out early this morning to buy, specially prepared for her breakfast. She didn't want to share it with anyone else.
"How stingy."
Su Peishan gave a soft snort and hung up the phone with an air of arrogance.
Ten minutes later, the doorbell rang.
Bai Qianmo went to open the door, and Su Peishan, dressed in a smart white business suit, wearing five-centimeter high heels and carrying a small red leather bag, walked in with a clattering sound.
She placed her purse on the sofa beside her and glanced around.
