Bai Qianmo and Gu Jueye arrived at the Second Provincial Hospital, where Ji Cong'an, Xie Siming, and Jiang Nanyan had already arrived.
Gu Jueye glanced at the closed door and could vaguely see people in white coats moving around inside through the frosted glass windows with vertical stripes on the door.
"Is he awake?"
Ji Cong'an, who was looking down at his phone, slowly raised his head.
"woke up."
When Gu Jueye and Bai Qianmo saw Ji Cong'an's face, their expressions both changed.
Ji Cong'an had a round bruise around his right eye socket, clearly indicating that he had been beaten up.
Bai Qianmo asked curiously, "What happened to your face?"
"Don't mention it, just think of it as being bitten by a dog."
"Pfft, hahaha..."
Xie Siming couldn't help but burst into laughter. Under Ji Cong'an's sharp, knife-like gaze, he fearlessly walked to Bai Qianmo's side and whispered.
"Sister-in-law, this is what happened..."
It turned out that Zhu Qinghan had been unconscious on the way to the hospital. Ji Cong'an was afraid that he would die on the way, so he thought of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
He was originally very reluctant to have intimate contact with a grown man, but the only people in the car besides him were Xie Siming and Jiang Nanyan.
Those two were even less likely to step forward to help, and in his eagerness to save lives, Ji Cong'an decided to sacrifice himself.
Unexpectedly, just as his lips were about to touch Zhu Qinghan, Zhu Qinghan suddenly woke up.
When Zhu Qinghan saw Ji Cong'an pouting and getting closer to her, she punched Ji Cong'an in the eye socket without thinking.
Upon learning what had happened, Bai Qianmo looked at Ji Cong'an with a hint of pity in her eyes.
Just then, the door to the ward suddenly opened.
Gu Jingyu, dressed in a clean and elegant white lab coat and wearing silver-rimmed glasses, walked out leisurely with his hands in his pockets.
A young female nurse followed behind him.
"The patient's physical condition is fine, but he has been given a large amount of sedatives, so he seems a bit dazed. He will be fine after three or four hours when the effects of the drugs wear off."
Ji Cong'an said angrily, "That guy was as weak as a chick before, but he actually dared to hit me today. I think he must have overdosed on drugs and damaged his brain. Gu Jingyu, you should take a good look at him, and it would be best to get a brain CT scan."
Gu Jingyu quipped, "The sleeping pills won't damage your brain. He probably hit you because he thought you deserved it. You need to reflect on your actions."
Xie Siming scoffed, "Who told you to perform CPR on someone in the car? Anyone who didn't know better would think you have some kind of weird fetish."
"I think you're the one with weird quirks, you perverted freak."
"Hey Ji, who are you calling a pervert? Say it again if you dare!"
Ji Cong'an grinned, his peach blossom eyes curving into crescents. He accidentally aggravated his wound, wincing in pain. "You think I'll just tell you? You think you're so great?"
Seeing that Xie Siming and Ji Cong'an were arguing again, Gu Jueye took Bai Qianmo's hand and whispered, "They won't be done anytime soon, let's go inside first."
Bai Qianmo nodded, ignoring the two bickering men, and followed Gu Jueye into the ward.
Zhu Qinghan was leaning against the headboard at the moment. He must have heard the loud arguing outside.
As Gu Jueye and Bai Qianmo walked in, Zhu Qinghan looked at them calmly with her clear eyes.
"I heard that you saved me."
Zhu Qinghan spoke first, his voice as clear and pure as his overall demeanor.
Bai Qianmo stared at the man in front of her. He wasn't very tall, but he had a slender and tall figure and a kind of aloof and indifferent temperament. Just standing there, people would ignore his appearance.
Gu Jueye walked to the bedside, his deep and indifferent gaze calmly looking at the man on the bed.
He cut to the chase: "What is your relationship with the Yin family of the Gu clan?"
Zhu Qinghan chuckled: "It's alright."
Gu Jueye raised an eyebrow and pondered for a moment: "The Yin family has gone to such lengths, sending their most important people from the base to arrest someone insignificant?"
Bai Qianmo stared at Zhu Qinghan probingly for a moment: "Dr. Zhu, although those people have been arrested, the news will soon reach the Yin family, and their people will continue to cause you trouble. If you don't explain the whole story, it seems there's no need for us to continue helping you."
Zhu Qinghan's delicate features darkened slightly, and a hint of hesitation flashed in her eyes.
"Knowing too much about some things does you no good."
Bai Qianmo scoffed lightly: "Now that we've saved you, we're on the opposite side of the Yin family. It'll be difficult for us to remain unscathed."
Zhu Qinghan felt very guilty and sighed deeply: "I'm sorry, I didn't expect to involve you. My idea when I hid in KN was to live in anonymity, but I didn't expect that they would find me in the end."
The door to the ward was pushed open again.
Ji Cong'an walked in from outside; he had overheard the conversation inside.
"Zhu Qinghan, you really fooled me! You said you were orphaned, had no one to rely on, and no stable job. I took pity on you and that's why I let you work at KN. But it turns out that everything you said was a lie. Tell me, what is your real identity?"
I originally thought I had just impulsively taken in a dim-witted intern, but I never expected that the intern would be so entangled with the Gu clan.
Although he had never met the Yin family, he had heard of the mysterious Miao Gu Clan. The members of their clan were proficient in all kinds of strange and magical arts, and their disciples were all over the world. Their power and influence were beyond the imagination of ordinary people.
