Chapter 385 No one knows the piano better than me

With Bai Kangyan and Bai Luoyu present, Han Songyan tried her best to act as usual, managing to force a smile.

"No, the wound isn't deep. I'll just put some iodine on it myself."

"You've lost so much blood and you still say the wound isn't deep? These are hands that play the piano; even a scratch is a huge deal. Let me do it."

Before Han Songyan could speak, Bai Xiruo rushed to open the first-aid kit and took out iodine and gauze.

When Bai Xiruo reached out to grasp Han Songyan's hand, Han Songyan instinctively pulled back. A sinister glint flashed in Bai Xiruo's lowered eyes, and she secretly increased the pressure on Han Songyan's hand.

"Don't move, it might hurt a little when the medicine is applied."

Han Songyan's face was a little pale, and she gritted her teeth without saying anything more.

Bai Kangyan and Bai Luoyu were unaware of the subtle interactions between the mother and daughter. In their eyes, Han Songyan and Bai Xiruo had always maintained a close relationship, so no one would have guessed that the two were secretly competing with each other.

After bandaging Han Songyan's wound, the housekeeper came over to remind her that dinner was ready.

The family of four sat down in the restaurant. Bai Kangyan seemed very happy and chatted with Bai Xiruo about recent events from time to time.

"By the way, Dad, I heard that our company is collaborating with the UK?"

Bai Kangyan looked at Bai Xiruo with some surprise: "How did you know?"

Bai Xiruo smiled and said, "I have a friend who works at the UK Foundation. She told me that she saw you and your brother in the UK a while ago."

When the topic of the major collaboration the company had secured came up, Bai Kangyan couldn't hide the smile in his eyes.

"There is indeed a project under discussion. You have a friend working at the UK Foundation? How come I've never heard you mention it before?"

"She's a senior from my high school; she only joined the UK Foundation this year."

"If you calculate it that way, she should have just graduated from university. Your senior is quite something," Bai Kangyan praised.

Bai Xiruo nodded in agreement: "My senior is indeed very outstanding. The UK has been developing rapidly in recent years, and their benefits are among the best in the world. No one who joins the UK ever resigns or leaves, so it has become increasingly difficult to get into the UK these days. My senior works in administration. Please let me know before you go to the UK next time, and I will give my senior a heads-up. After all, she is an insider at the UK and may be able to help you out."

That's wonderful.

Bai Luoyu pondered for a moment: "Xi Ruo, has your senior ever seen the Grim Reaper?"

"The Grim Reaper? Is that the big boss behind the UK Fund?"

"Yes, it's him. Have you heard your senior mention Death?"

Bai Xiruo recalled carefully for a while: "It was mentioned once that the big boss made a phone call to the CEO of UK, and then the whole company worked overtime for three whole days."

"That's all?" Bai Luoyu looked somewhat disappointed.

Bai Xiruo suddenly remembered that Bai Luoyu's idol was the Grim Reaper, and tentatively asked, "Did you see the Grim Reaper when you went to the United States this time, brother?"

Bai Luoyu sighed: "I didn't see him. I heard that Death is not currently in the United States."

"I'll call my senior tonight and ask if she knows the whereabouts of Death." Bai Luoyu and Bai Qianmo are getting closer and closer, and it's difficult for her to gain Bai Luoyu's trust. This Death is a good opportunity.

With something on her mind, Han Songyan absentmindedly ate a few bites of food before putting down her chopsticks.

"I'm done eating, you can continue eating."

After saying that, Han Songyan left the restaurant.

Bai Kangyan watched Han Songyan leave, his brow furrowing slightly.

I felt like she was out of sorts tonight, as if she had something on her mind.

After dinner

Bai Xiruo did not return to her apartment that night. After returning to her room, she took out her phone and sent a WeChat message to Han Songyan.

"Come to my room."

Han Songyan came out of the bathroom, sat on the edge of the bed, picked up her phone to check the news, and saw a message from Bai Xiruo.

A sharp pain shot through my brow bone, and my pupils involuntarily constricted.

"Honey, what's wrong?"

Bai Kangyan was originally leaning against the headboard looking at documents when he saw Han Songyan sitting motionless on the edge of the bed, her face still a little pale. He immediately put down the documents and moved to Han Songyan's side.

"It's nothing. I just suddenly remembered that Xi Ruo's blanket is a bit thin. I'll go and bring her a new one. You go to sleep first."

Bai Kangyan didn't think much of it: "You, as a mother, are the most thoughtful in thinking about the children."

"By the way, Xi Ruo and Qian Mo's birthday is in a few days. I'd like to take this opportunity to reconcile the two sisters. Do you think there's any hope?"

Han Songyan stared blankly at her phone screen for a while, then her eyelids twitched when she heard Bai Kangyan's words.

"I think we shouldn't be too hasty. It's unlikely that the two of them will be able to reconcile anytime soon."

"That's true, this can't be rushed, but since they share the same birthday, we'll definitely celebrate together."

Han Songyan nodded without saying anything more.

My mind was in complete turmoil, so I got up and hurriedly went out the door.

Arriving at Bai Xiruo's door

Han Songyan took a deep breath, adjusted her mindset, and then knocked on the door with a cold face.

A moment later, the door opened.

Bai Xiruo glanced at Han Songyan outside the door and gave a cold smile.

"Come in."

"Speak, what do you want?" Han Songyan walked in and closed the door behind her.

Bai Xiruo walked to the dressing table, sat down, and slowly combed her long hair with a comb.

"Mom, we've been mother and daughter for twenty years, do we really have to act like strangers every time we meet?"
