Bai Qianmo walked back into the house somewhat absentmindedly, her gaze fixed intently on the card in her hand.
Could someone who could disappear so quickly after putting down the card be one of Xu Changchong's people?
If it was him, why would he leave behind this strange card?
What does "time bureau" mean above?
Gu Jueye walked back to the room and found the door open. He walked in curiously and saw Bai Qianmo standing in the room in a daze.
Why aren't you closing the door?
Bai Qianmo turned around and looked at the man who was looking at her gently from the doorway.
Having known each other for so long, Gu Jueye had become quite familiar with Bai Qianmo's expressions.
At this moment, her smooth brows were slightly furrowed, and her usually calm and composed gaze seemed to reveal a hint of doubt.
"What happened?" Gu Jueye asked, closing the door behind him as he walked slowly to Bai Qianmo.
He reached out and affectionately ruffled her hair.
The two were very close, and Bai Qianmo immediately smelled a faint scent of alcohol.
"Have you been drinking?"
"Hmm, I had a drink. What's this?" Gu Jueye noticed the card in Bai Qianmo's hand and reached out to take it.
Upon seeing a sentence on the card, his handsome face showed a slight pause.
"Where did it come from?"
Bai Qianmo pointed to the door: "Someone rang the doorbell just now, and when I opened the door, I only saw this card. Have you heard of the Time Bureau?"
Gu Jueye pulled Bai Qianmo to the sofa and sat down, then let Bai Qianmo sit on his lap.
A pair of hands encircled her slender waist, and the long, elegant hands slowly opened the card.
"Recently, there is a very mysterious organization in the United States called the 'Space Administration Bureau,' which is the 'Time Bureau' on the card. They claim to have the ability to predict the future and also claim to be the managers who maintain space order."
"Predicting the future? Who actually believes such an absurd claim?"
Gu Jueye played with Bai Qianmo's fair and slender fingers, gently rubbing her delicate nails with his fingertips: "Did you get your nails done?"
Bai Qianmo looked at the pink nail polish that Qin Jingwen had applied to her nails. When she returned to her room, Qin Jingwen had dragged her there and insisted on applying the nail polish.
Is it pretty?
"It suits your skin tone very well."
"Mr. Gu, you seem to be trying to change the subject." Gu Jueye is such a busy person, yet he still managed to find out about the news from the United States so quickly.
And I didn't even know?
It seems the UK needs to be properly managed.
Gu Jueye smiled and said, "I just wanted to help you relax."
"And then? I want to hear."
"Initially, no one believed what this organization said, but just last month, someone from this organization publicly posted a message on Twitter saying that a week later, a Forbes billionaire from the United States would suddenly die of a heart attack."
Bai Qianmo quickly searched her mind for relevant news, including the US billionaires on the Forbes list last month.
“Obart?” This was reported in major international newspapers last month.
The wealthy businessman, Obart, died of a heart attack at the young age of forty.
Gu Jueye squeezed Bai Qianmo's hand and slowly said, "After Obart died, the Space Administration became famous overnight. Many reporters and enthusiasts tried to contact the Space Administration staff through various channels, but no one could find their organization's base. Later, a hacker used network technology to find the IP address of the person who posted the tweet, and it turned out that the address was just an internet cafe."
"We should be able to find his trail from the internet cafe's surveillance footage, right? But since he doesn't want to be discovered, he must have disguised himself."
Gu Jueye nodded approvingly: "That's right, that person did disguise himself, and he seemed to be very familiar with the location of the internet cafe's surveillance cameras. His face was kept away from the surveillance footage the whole time."
Bai Qianmo frowned and pondered for a while.
"If it's just this one incident, it's not enough to make this organization famous throughout the United States. Are there any other predictions?"
"Last week, that person posted another message on Twitter, saying that a Category 17 tornado would hit K State in two days. As it turned out, on the very day that person predicted, the sky was clear in the morning, but suddenly sand and rocks flew everywhere in the afternoon. A powerful tornado formed in the desert happened to pass through K State, destroying a large number of houses and killing more than 100 people."
Hearing this, Bai Qianmo was secretly shocked.
"If Obart's death could be staged, then the K State tornado was a natural phenomenon that cannot be faked. Therefore, after this incident, everyone believed that the people from the Space Administration really had precognitive abilities."
Bai Qianmo asked, "Have you found their stronghold yet?"
Gu Jueye shook his head: "That person still sent the message from the internet cafe, and judging from the number of logins, he only logged in twice, which were the two prediction messages he sent."
Bai Qianmo fell into deep thought. This person clearly had a strong sense of self-protection and obviously did not want his identity to be discovered.
What she couldn't understand was why this organization had slipped this card outside her room door.
Is this card for her or for Gu Jueye?
Bai Qianmo then realized that the card probably wasn't aimed at Gu Jueye, since Gu Jueye wasn't in the room at the time.
If that person had given it to him, there would have been many ways to deliver it directly to Gu Jueye, instead of slipping it under the door and waiting for her to discover it.
At the time, only she and Jingwen were in the room.
Jingwen's social circle is very simple, and it's unlikely that anyone would associate with her.
Then the most likely person left is yourself.
