It was already dark when I left the Qin family.
Back home, Bai Qianmo suddenly remembered something and hurriedly went into the dressing room.
Gu Jueye put down his car keys, changed into slippers, hung his coat and Bai Qianmo's coat together on the coat rack in the entryway, took Bai Qianmo's slippers from the shoe cabinet, and then followed her inside.
What are you rushing around for?
Bai Qianmo came out of the dressing room with her hands behind her back, exuding a sly air, her eyes bright, and she looked at him with a smile.
Gu Jueye raised an eyebrow, walked over and squatted down, placing a pair of light blue fluffy slippers next to Bai Qianmo's feet. No longer caring what the little girl was up to, he reached out and skillfully untied the shoelaces of Bai Qianmo's shoes.
"I'll change it myself in a bit. I have a gift for you."
Gu Jueye gently raised his head, a faint smile appearing on his handsome face. He slowly stood up, his gentle gaze sweeping over Bai Qianmo's arm behind her back.
The little girl didn't even bother to change her shoes when she got home; she had actually prepared a gift for him.
"Give me something?"
Bai Qianmo took out the box she was carrying on her back: "Open it and see for yourself."
Judging from the rectangular box, Gu Jueye estimated that it contained either a tie or a shirt.
Upon opening the box and seeing a shirt, Gu Jueye's eyes and eyebrows twitched slightly, showing neither surprise nor delight.
I've often heard Jiangnan say that if a woman can't help but want to buy you clothes while shopping, it means you're already very important to her.
"Do you like it? Want to try it on?"
Gu Jueye took the shirt out of the box. Although the fabric wasn't the kind he usually wore, it felt very comfortable to the touch.
"I'll try it on for you."
He placed the shirt on the sofa beside him and reached out to unbutton the white shirt one button at a time, revealing a patch of snow-white skin. Bai Qianmo pretended to help him get the new shirt, bending down to avoid the view.
Gu Jueye smiled slightly.
When Gu Jueye put on the new shirt, a hint of amazement flashed in Bai Qianmo's eyes.
The dark green shirt really suited his temperament, perfectly showcasing his aloof, proud, and noble aura.
"Mr. Gu, you're so handsome!" Bai Qianmo couldn't help but exclaim.
Gu Jueye was in a good mood and reached out to pull Bai Qianmo in front of him: "It shows you have good taste."
Are we just doing mutual flattery?
"I'm sincere, as for you..."
Bai Qianmo raised an eyebrow slightly: "Don't you have any self-awareness that you have such a devilishly handsome face?"
Gu Jueye narrowed his eyes and chuckled softly: "Is this a veiled compliment?"
Bai Qianmo pouted in protest: "It was clearly a direct compliment!"
Gu Jueye leaned over and placed a kiss on Bai Qianmo's lips.
The room was filled with an ambiguous atmosphere, but it was ruined by an annoying cell phone ringtone.
Gu Jueye frowned slightly, a hint of dissatisfaction in his eyes.
Bai Qianmo took a deep breath and adjusted her breathing.
"It sounds like my phone is ringing."
Gu Jueye released his hands from around her waist. Bai Qianmo walked to the sofa, took out her phone from her bag, and was slightly surprised to see the caller ID.
Why would Bai Yitang call her at this time?
I glanced at the time; it was already 9 p.m.
"Hello!"
A car horn sounded from that direction, accompanied by the whooshing sound of the wind.
Immediately following, Bai Yitang's trembling voice rang out: "Bai Qianmo, I need your help urgently!"
*
Half an hour later
Bai Yitang sat in his warm home, but he was still shivering from the cold.
Bai Qianmo brought him a blanket and handed it to him, while Gu Jueye made him a cup of brown sugar ginger water.
"Thank you, brother-in-law!" Bai Yitang almost cried with emotion as he held the brown sugar ginger water that Gu Jueye had made.
"Were you kicked out of your family?" Bai Qianmo sat to the side, looking at him coldly.
Bai Yitang took a sip of brown sugar ginger water. Upon hearing Bai Qianmo's words, he immediately raised his eyebrows and said, "How could that be? It's my own fault for not wanting to stay at home and listen to their nagging. You didn't see how pitiful Grandpa and my parents looked when I left. They begged me to stay, but I'm a person of my word, and no one can persuade me otherwise."
Bai Qianmo knew perfectly well that Bai Yitang had most likely had a fight with his family and left in a huff. As a result, his family hadn't called him yet, and he had nowhere to go. He was too ashamed to go home, so he finally thought of coming to her for help.
Bai Yitang bent down and glanced under the coffee table: "Really, Bai Qianmo, you don't eat snacks?"
Bai Qianmo glanced at Bai Yitang: "I don't eat that kind of junk food."
"Aren't you young? Do you want some hamburgers, fries, and fried chicken?"
Bai Qianmo shook her head, looking at him indifferently: "You haven't eaten?"
Bai Yitang's eyes flickered a few times: "I left in a hurry and forgot to bring any money with me. I had some money in my phone, but I impulsively spent it on game equipment a couple of days ago."
The implication is that he has no money for food.
Bai Yitang's aunt always adopted a laissez-faire approach to his upbringing. In terms of finances, his parents covered his tuition, he could eat and live at home, and he had to rely on his own ability for pocket money.
Bai Yitang didn't have much money. His allowance came from his elders during holidays, and he had saved up tens of thousands of yuan in bits and pieces. However, he liked to play games in his spare time, and he had recently spent all of that money on equipment in order to show off and level up.
This runaway was very sudden; I only realized I had no money after I left home.
He wandered around aimlessly all day, thinking that his family would call him back in a few hours, but he waited from morning till night and his family never made a single call.
Bai Yitang couldn't bring himself to go back, so he thought about his friends and, for some reason, called Bai Qianmo first.
Bai Qianmo looked at Gu Jueye: "Is there any food at home?"
Since Gu Jueye moved in, he has been the one cooking, and Bai Qianmo only helps out occasionally, so she has no idea what food is in the refrigerator.
"There are ingredients in the refrigerator. What would you like to eat?" Gu Jueye asked Bai Yitang.
"One serving of braised prawns, one serving of boiled pork, a big bowl of rice, and a fruit platter, that should be enough for me."
Bai Qianmo glanced at Bai Yitang: "A bowl of instant noodles is enough, I'll make it."
"No..." Bai Yitang had experienced Bai Qianmo's cooking skills and wanted to stop her.
Bai Qianmo had already gotten up and gone to the kitchen.
Bai Yitang grinned, almost bursting into tears.
After being hungry all day, I ended up only being able to eat a bowl of instant noodles?
Gu Jueye glanced at Bai Yitang, his expression one of helplessness.
About ten minutes later, the doorbell rang.
Gu Jueye got up and opened the door. Rong Yi was carrying a large bag: "Seventh Master, here are the things you requested."
